Nowadays, the world we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because of environmental destruction. Each day thousands of tons of gases come out of the exhausts of motor vehicles. 不知同学们是否看过一幅这样的漫画，标题是“鱼儿也需要保护”，“在水面上漂浮着许多垃圾，有的比较重的还在不断的往下沉。一条小鱼撑着荷叶在水中游。这幅看似可笑的漫画却含义深刻。

虽只是一幅平常的漫画。可你是否想过，再过几年、几十年、几百年……是不是会变成现实呢?据调查，20%的淡水鱼濒临灭绝，50%的珊瑚礁退化。大约在2025年三分之二的人口面临供水困难……各种不堪入目的数据都表明，地球——人类的家园正遭受着巨大的危害。作为人类的我们必须站起来面对，从每一件小事做起。比如：保护好周围的环境，积极宣传文明。

雨果说过：”大自然是善良的慈母，也是冷酷的屠夫。“假如你不保护好周围的环境，那么，花草树木也许就会成为人们观看的展品。因为树木的减少，原本每年全世界的土壤流失约300多亿吨，以后不就更多了吗?到时候，地球还能给予我们财富吗?

为了家园，为了我们自己，为了造福子孙后代，保护环境，人人有责，刻不容缓!

如今，“环保”这个词已经成为了各个国家政府的重点重视之词。

曾经，在公共场所内随便扔垃圾，那也是习以为常。但如果没有人去捡起垃圾重复利用的话，那地球岂不是成为了垃圾场?我们如果不重复利用可以利用的东西，那地球的资源总有一天会枯竭。

再说家庭，家里人看电视，用电脑那是很正常。但是有人却让电视、电脑甚至电灯，二十四小时全天候服务，从不打烊，是不是很浪费?到底是晴空万里好呢还是乌烟瘴气的天好?我们也知道，现在有些国家还在用煤炭来供电，一烧煤炭，那黑色的气体通过烟管排向空中，一些人又吸入那些有毒气体，险些丧命。动物如果长久吸入这种气体的话，后果不堪设想。

百花齐放对寸草不生，清澈见底对浑浊不清，这样的对子不止一个。成语也是造出来的，像寸草不生这样的成语不止一个，那就说明还真有这样的现象，这真是叫人惊心动魄啊!

日本的汞中毒事件;氟化物破坏了臭氧层;阿斯旺水坝生态环境恶化，“六六六”、“DDT”施用的恶果，科学家甚至在南极企鹅的体内找到了“DDT”……

这种新闻，这种事件，看了实在是让人胆寒。这是人们为了金钱而去奋斗的结果。人们眼中只有金钱在发光，为了金钱，人们可以放弃所有的东西，甚至自己的家园。但是终究造成了什么呢?美国西部的黑风暴，毁掉耕地四千五百余万亩;巴基斯坦和印度之间的塔尔平原，因森林破坏成为沙漠;源于其上游森林植物被破坏，当今长江成为中国历史上的第二条黄河。主要原因却是森林被过度的砍伐……

面对这些事件我也无言以对，曾经连想都没想过的事情如今却成为事实，曾经连想都想不出来的事却鬼斧神差般地出现了，相鼠有齿，人而无止，人而无止，不死何俟?砍伐树木那是为了生活的需要，但要是没有节制地去砍伐的话，那你还能得到什么?到时候你得到的钱也只不过是废纸一张。

请换个角度看环保吧!不要再把环保看轻了，善待地球就是善待自己，拯救地球就是拯救未来。地球，使我们赖以生存的地方;环保，是拯救地球生命的方法。请换个角度看环保!

Some people think that human needs for farmland, housing, and industry are more important than saving land for endangered animals. Do you agree or disagree with this point of view? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

In the past, there have been many endangered animals. Now they are extinct. Does it matter? Has our environment been affected by their absence? Has the quality of our own life been changed? The answer to these questions is "Yes." It does matter if we destroy an endangered species habitat to develop more farmland, housing or industrial parks. There is a delicate balance of nature. If one small part is removed, it will affect all the other parts. For example, if certain trees are cut down, bats will have no place to roost. If they cannot roost, they cannot breed. If there are no bats, there will be no animal, or bird to eat certain insects that plague our crops.Our environment has been affected by the absence of certain animals. Certain flowers are pollinated by butterflies which migrate from Canada to Mexico. Some of the breeding grounds of these butterflies were destroyed. Now these flowers are disappearing from certain areas. We will no longer be able to enjoy their beauty.The quality of our life has been changed. America used to be covered with giant trees. Now we have to visit them in one small park. Rainforests around the world are being cut down to make room for humans. We will never be able to see or study this fragile ecosystem.I would encourage us humans to look for other alternatives for our farmlands, housing, and industries. We have alternatives; the animals do not.

“英语节”的活动真是花样百出，有画海报、抽奖券、看英语电影……真是让我眼花缭乱，兴奋不已。其中，最好玩的就是抽奖券和“圣诞老人抽幸运班级”啦！

活动现场一进门，哇，好多人耶！原来是英语老师正在为同学分发幸运奖券呢！我和王怡然立马奔向傅老师。啊！轮到我了！我紧张地把手伸进神秘的袜子里，心中充满了期待。呦……是一个棒棒糖，没有中奖，但有糖果吃也不错啦！

“叮咚”，同学们一听到广播就知道是杰妮老师带着“圣诞老人”来抽“幸运班级”啦！“现在终于轮到三、四年级抽奖啦！“圣诞老人”笑呵呵地说着，大家马上安静下来，屏住呼吸期待着结果。“让我看看，嗯……当当当当！是四零……，”随着“圣诞老人”故意拉长的声音，同学们纷纷伸长耳朵，瞪大眼睛，准备着又希望着……“是四零五班！恭喜四零五班！”

虽然，我没有中奖，但这个英语节我很快乐，因为英语节本来就是让我们学习知识的活动，我也确实收获了许多，也让我对英语产生了更浓厚的兴趣
