"We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas…"Have you heard that song? Yup! Its Christmas time! This Christmas, I stayed with my "host family"1. It was an amazing experience to see how a typical American family would celebrate the biggest western festival of the year.

Christmas, like our Spring Festival, has a meaning in itself. Christmas Day, which is on December 25, is the birthday of Jesus Christ--the son of God. Thats why it is called Christmas. On that day, Christians would get together with their families to celebrate the birthday of Jesus. But nowadays, the religious meaning of Christmas has become less emphasized. To many families, it is just a time of family reunion and the ever-exciting present-giving.

Our school had been on winter vacation since December 11. I stayed at my friend, Stephen Stapczynskis house--his family was my "host family". Although Christmas was still more than ten days ahead, the festive spirit had already been teeming everywhere. The Christmas tree had already been set up, and on every windowsill, there were Christmas lights. On the first day I arrived at their house, Stephen and I helped Mrs. Stapczynski put decorations on the Christmas tree. The tree looked so nice with all the lights on and the beautiful ornaments dangling from its branches.

As Christmas came closer, the whole neighborhood had made preparations too. Some people would hold parties at their houses, inviting all their neighbors to come. So every night, if you went out, you would see a long line of cars parked in front of some house--a partys on!

Whats more, the Christmas decorations that some people put on their windows and in gardens were just amazing. On one night, we went out in our car for a "tour of lights". There was one street that was so famous for its lights that it got its way into the local paper. We had a hard time finding the well-hidden street, but it turned out to be worth the effort. Lights shone brightly in front of nearly every house, on trees, bushes, doors, windows…everywhere, taking different shapes, making it seem almost like daytime. Huge inflatable figures in the front gardens were waving to us: there were Santa Clauses2, of course, chuckling merrily away; and there were also other Christmas figures, like Rudolph3--the red-nosed reindeer--with his red nose gleaming ever so brightly; even Bart Simpson--a character in the famous comedy The Simpsons--had joined the jolly party, wearing a Santas hat. The street set off a lot of "ooh"s and "aah"s inside the car.4 When we left, there was a line of cars in the street, all there to see the lights.

There is a saying said that dont give up forever.When I was a child,my teachers often told that dont give up,and the hope was always there.

Whenever we meet with a problem,however hard the problem is,we shouldnt stop our work.We must have a faith that the most beautiful view will come in after the most high hill.There are also many examples,such as Zhang Haidi,Zheng ZHihua,Helen Keller and so on,they all had a bad life,but they all successed by their efforts.

From the earliest time to the present days, viewpoints concerning human

nature were vehemently contended among prominent philosophers. Mencius believed

human nature is good, and people are naturally inclined toward virtue. While,

Xunzi deemed human are basically evil who need to be changed by man-made.

As it is widely known, human nature is that indestructible matrix upon

which the character is built. Accordingly, to a large extent, the basic nature

of human beings cannot be changed. On the other hand, each of us is naturally

endowed with diverse both qualities and personalities, which makes us unfold an

apparently distinct character. Then, it is hard for one to change his nature

fundamentally. Regardless of whether nature is innate or habitus acquired, they

were both a consistently developing courses that cannot be easily changed in a

short time. Last but not the least, external influencing factors, like

其中令我最难忘的是到海南岛“玩”水母的那年暑假，短短的五天，竟然让我们全家玩的不亦乐乎、乐不思蜀!海南岛的水母都是无毒无电的;可以供人触摸，它们如一个个小果冻般的迷人模样，实在令我记忆犹新，永生难忘!

这几年，家人的工作愈来愈多，假期生活变成了无滋无味、度日如年的，只能在家里头，细细回味那几年发生的点点滴滴，原来幸福的假期生活，变成了单调而无味的等待，心中的想像终究还是成了泡影。

“假期生活”是一种心灵的充电，让我能好好享受，假期生活的那种幸福、满足的快乐感受!

What is the definition of a good neighbor? Well, in my opinion, a good neighbor should have the qualities: to care about other’s feeling, and help others unselfishly.

一个好邻居的定义是什么？在我看来，一个好邻居应该有这些品质：关心他人感受，无私的帮助别人。

I feel lucky to have a good neighbor. She is about 65 years old. I remember it clearly，one night, I was caught in a pouring rain, and then I suffered from a high fever. My parents were on business, so I turned to her for help, I recovered soon. I have another neighbor, we’re in the same age, went to the same school. We always played together. I’m not good at Physics at that time. It was hard for me to pass the exam. After school, she always helped me with my Physics. With her help, I made a big process in my final exam.

我感到很幸运自己有位好邻居。她大概65岁。我记得很清楚，一个风雨交加的夜晚，我发烧了。我的父母正好出差，所以我向她求救，很快，我康复了。我还有一邻居，年龄和我一样，在同一学校上学。我们总是一起玩。那段时间，我的物理不是很好，考试很难通过。放学后，她总是帮助我补课。通过她的帮助，我在期末考试中取得了很大的进步。

Good neighbors create a comfortable and safe living environment. They’re also our good friends. They make a big difference in our daily life.

Hello, everybody! My name is Michael. Im a happy boy. Because I laugh everyday. I have a big family. There are three people in my family, my mother, my father and I. My parents are managers and Im a student. I study in Grade Seven, Class Eleven, Dongzhou Middle School. Its a nice place. There are many students in my class. I have a good teacher, Miss Jiang. My favorite lessons are English and Math. I like dogs very much. I have only one dog. Its name is Doudou. Its a pretty dog.
