1998年长江，嫩江，松花江流域的大洪灾以及近几年北京愈来愈重的风沙。特别是今年4月上旬，中旬的沙尘暴涉及的面积之广，风力之大，尘土之浓，持续时间之长，更是历史上罕见的。这一系列的自然灾害已向国人重锤击响保护环境的警钟。人类只有一个地球，自毁地球无异于毁灭自己生存的家园。树立环保意识已成为全世界各人民的共同要求。爱山爱水爱林爱鸟爱人类，护天护地护花护草护环境。

奶奶对我说：“以前农村里的池塘可干净了，小鱼水藻都看得见，小孩子都在塘里洗澡。旁边还种了许多桂花树。夏天在树下乘凉，秋天那淡淡的清香可好闻了。

可现在呢?池塘被养殖户承包去养珍珠，大量的鸡粪倒进塘里，塘边的蚌壳成堆，桂花树早已枯死，特别是到了夏天臭气熏天，行人望而生畏。

建议：

1. 承包户不用为了多挣钱而破环生态环境;

2. 有关部门是不是可以规划地区，让养殖户集中养殖。

我的建议可能很幼稚，也可能一时实现不了。但是，只要每个公民行动起来，团结一心。那么，我们的家园会变得更加美丽!

陆地污染：垃圾的清理成了各大城市的重要问题，每天千万吨的垃圾中，好些是不能焚化或腐化的，如塑料、橡胶、玻璃、铝等废物。它们成了城市卫生的第一号敌人。

空气污染：这是最为直接与严重的了，主要来自工厂、汽车、发电厂等等放出的一氧化碳和硫化氢等，每天都有人因接触了这些污浊空气而染上呼吸器官或视觉器官的毛病。我们若仍然漠视专家的警告，将来一定会落到无半寸净土可住的地步。

The concept of responsibility is a necessary fiction. Although socities must hold their individuals accountable for their own actions, people‘s behavior is largely determined by forces not of their own making.

In the title statement, the speaker holds the contention that the concept of ‘individual responsibility‘ is no existence but a fiction. In fact, different careers and roles form diverse individual responsibilities, which result in individuals’voluntary behaviors.

On the other hand, there are not only specific individual responsibilities in diverse areas but also some fundamental values and accountabilities, which we all human beings cherish. From the moment one can speak or even is born, the society begins to instill the moral and ethical standards, which is so called humanity in every one‘s mind. The older one is, the deeper influence the humanity would be. When one is just a little child, he would go directly to what he like and claim it. Then when he is old enough, he would realize that it is incorrect and ashamed. And because of the awareness of what is right and wrong, one would probably never do any misdeed again. Actually, humanity is just the common individual responsibility shared by all of us.

There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to people’s health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. What is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.

To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Due to planning mistakes, factories were usually placed in the center of cities, among residential and business districts. Besides, nearly every block has several chimneys for the heating system, which makes the whole city immersed in thick columns of smoke. As a result, respiratory diseases have been reported to be rising and old people dying of the worsening air pollution.

Pollution is really a hot issue in the world. If we don’t take useful measures, we may live in terrible surroundings, and some unexpected results may come out in the end. So, what we should do is to bring down the problems caused by chimneys. For one thing, factories with chimneys should be moved out of the center of the city and it should be made sure that the waste gases are at least not poisonous. For another, other means of heating should be developed to stop using coal. In a word, in the city there should be no coal, no chimney, and no smoke to pollute the air.

Nowadays, a new lifestyle called carbon life is spreading every corner of our country. The conceps of low carbon are low energy and no waste.
