I am a volunteer in Saving the Environment Club of my school. Last Saturday, I did some volunteer work with other volunteers.

It seems we are living in the conflict between modern and traditional

cultures every day. Hearing the blaring of horns the moment you step out of your

house, seeing the so called "pop" the moment you open your eyes, you cant help

thinking, "Will the traditional culture be gradually lost?"

Many people believe so. They may put right in front of you all the

evidences they can dig out. They may argue that people are rushing to

restaurants instead of cooking at home, listening to pop music but not

traditional, wearing in a way people couldnt imagine ten years ago. Modern

people like the air of freedom, not to be restrained by traditions. They offer

this long list, only trying to confirm that this world is full of

fashion,competition and temptation and the traditional culture is fading and

will be lost at last.

Though we are now living in a world in which undeclared aggression, war,

hypocrisy, chicanery, anarchy are part of our daily life. Though this is a

skeptical age, and our faith has weakened, our confidence in some aspects of the

traditional culture should and would never be lost.

Wouldnt you agree that our traditional culture is always credited with

modesty, politeness and respectfulness, which have always been treasured for

more than five thousand years?Even in this modern world, people still admire

those with good manners, those who are polite to others or respectful to old

people.

Wouldnt you agree that our Chinese traditional music is beautiful and

artistic and our Chinese tea culture is always an appealing treasure to people

So there may just be some changes in our lifestyle or our attitudes towards

life, but little change occurs to some fundamental aspects of our traditional

culture that people still treasure in heart.

Its very important to keep healthy.

I think we should have healthy diet every day and eat proper food. We shouldnt eat junk food because it is bad for our health. Drink water and milk as often as possible. Milk is a great drink that can give us more calcium that make our bones much stronger.

Dont eat too much because it will make you uncomfortable and fat. Dont spend too much time watching TV, DVDs and Videos or using computers. Its good to take more exercise such as basketball, bike riding , swimming and so on. Follow these and you can be healthy.

Golden Week

Golden week means long vacation. I’m in favor of the existing of golden week. Every year, I’m looking forward to its coming. During the golden week, I can have a good rest at home or go for a travel if my parents would like to. It is very wonderful. A semester is very long, and I often feel tired after a semester. Thus, if I can have a little long vacation during the long time study would be great. After I have a good rest, I can study effectively. Having a good rest, everyone would be full of energy.

The Great Wall of China is called the "Ten thousand Ii Great Wall" in

Chinese. In fact, it s more than 6 000 kilometres long. It winds its way from

west to east, across deserts, over mountains, through valleys till at last it

reaches the sea.It is one of the wonders of the world.The Great Wall has a history of over twenty centuries. The first part of it

was built during the Spring and Autumn Period.

During the Warring States Period, more walls were put up to defend the

borders of the different kingdoms.It was during the Qin Dynasty that the kingdom of Qin united the dif ferent

parts into one empire.

To keep the enemy out of his empire, Emperor Qin Shi Huang had all the

walls joined up. Thus, the Great Wall came into being.The Great Wall is wide enough at the top for five horses or ten men to walk

side by side.Along the wall are watchtowers, where soldiers used to keep watch.Fires were lit on the the towers as a warning when the enemy came.It was very difficult to build such a wall in the ancient days without any

modern machines.

All the work was done by hand. Thousands of men died and were buried under

the wall they built. The Great Wall was made not only of stone and earth, but of

the flesh and blood of millions of men.

Today the Great Wall has become a place of interest not only to the Chinese

but to people from all over the world. Many of them have come to know the famous

Chinese saying: "He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man."

后来，在老师的指导下，我每天都在练习，自我感觉还不错。可到了真正上台主持的时候，一看到那么多的老师同学坐在台下。顿时，我的心像揣着一只兔子似的跳个不停，大脑一片空白，脸窘得通红，一时忘了该说什么了。我无助望着老师，这时，老师走过来对我说：“就像平时那样就行了，老师相信你能行。”我顿时平静了下来，完成了接下来的主持。结束后，老师夸我第一次主持表现得不错，以后还要再接再厉。

The moment I go to high school, I have made up my mind to study hard. It is

known to all that the period of high school is the turning point of people’s

life, which may decide my future career. So I know the importance of striving

for my future. The reason why I study so hard are various. First, I want my

parents to be proud of me. When my mothers’ friends come to visit her, they

always brag about how excellent their children are, but my mother would never

take me as the topic, because she does not want me to have the pressure. I

The farmers got richer by planting vegetables and raising silkworms. In their houses there were colour TV sets, fridges,washing machines, new furniture and even motorbikes. All these showed the farmers life was getting better and better.

Today, my parents took me to my grandfather’s home.I talked with my grandfather for a little while and then I played with my brothers and sisters.

他的脚步一年四季都是匆匆。我总是在黄昏时坐在门口，看着远处绿油墨般的田野，听着栖停在梨树上鸟雀的高歌，那富有节奏和韵律美的脚步总是那么准时响起。那是父亲的脚步。

不知是父亲太忙的缘故，还是别人留他下了吃饭，我竟没有听到那熟悉的脚步声，心里不免有些失落。

暮色很守时地覆盖在这个如同火柴盒般大小的村子上。我蹲坐在屋前，倚在门框边，搓了搓手，哈了口暖气，借着红灯笼照下来的微光，久久地望着那个转弯角。

墨色的漆黑死死裹着我，吞噬着周遭的风景。红灯笼从头顶上照下来一层淡淡的黄光，轻轻披在我的身上，散落在地上。眼睛有些许朦胧，把头埋进膝盖中，不愿将软弱呈现出来。

不知过了多久，脚步声悠悠地飘进我的耳朵，伴着水泥地沧桑的回音，开始有些缥缈，好像从很远的地方传来。我抬起头，在那小小的红灯笼散发的微弱的光下，有个模糊而宽大的身影渐渐靠近，扯动着身边的风景，显得如此动人。

那天的红灯笼那般执着地留在记忆里——那个泛着微黄浅光的红灯笼，那稳重坚实的脚步声，身边的风景也是如此动人，一直落在心底。

我们从小就要做一个有道德的人。有礼貌，不讲脏话，见到长辈时问声好。不乱扔垃圾，不随地吐痰，爱护好城市环境。不浪费东西，节约能源，为绿化地球事业做出贡献。

有一次，我在街上看到一个时髦的阿姨在逛街，走着走着，手上的纸巾就那样若无旁人的扔在了地上，那张纸巾是多么的脏呀!我仿佛看到了细菌在放肆的舞动着。这时，一位穿着朴素的清洁工阿姨走了过来，她穿着一件已经洗得发白的衬衫和一条简单的裤子。她拿着扫帚，在地上轻轻的一扫，顿时那张纸巾已经不在地上了，而是在垃圾铲里了。虽然那个时髦的阿姨有着漂亮的脸蛋;有着华丽的服饰;有着昂贵的饰品。可她的心灵却是低贱的。她是一个没有道德的人。则反过来说，清洁工阿姨可能不曾拥有什么，可她却是一个高尚的、有道德的人。

还有一些事情，虽然我没有亲眼看见过，可是却听说过。有一些人在非洲的贫苦地区当益工。他们每一个人都来自不同的国家，而且都干出了一番事业。可他们为什么要来这些那么贫苦的地方当益工呢?为什么不在家里舒舒服服的享受呢?这是因为他们是一个有同情心，有爱心的人。他们是一个有道德的人。

我还见过许多有道德的人，例如：在学校有同学见到地上有垃圾就会主动捡起来，扔进垃圾桶里;在公共场所里，不大声喧哗，不打闹，遵守规矩。在马路上帮助小朋友和老公公，老婆婆。在工交车上主动让位给有需要的人……

I have a wonderful dream in my heart. Its to speak English very well.

Since English is everything for me. English is my best friend. English is my

soul. English is my power. Without English， Im nothing at all. Nothing. Now， I

can think in English， speak in English， and write in English. Some people think

Im an Indian. Some people regard Im a Pakistan. And some people even consider

that Im an Egyptian. But if I could speak English as good as an American， my

过了一会儿，居然进来了几个外国友人!当然，现在世界各国的关系紧密联系着，偶尔遇到几个外国人不足为奇。但我心里是非常激动的!我当时第一反应，是想和朋友们一起，和外国友人拍照的，合照纪念。可看到我的朋友，我却有些失望了――他们撇了一眼那些外国友人，然后面无表情地，又低下头去吃东西了。我不知道，他们为什么会这样?难道他们对此真的就一点儿兴趣也没有吗?不!他们一定和我一样，心中充满了好奇，只是被“沉稳”习惯性地掩盖罢了。

那些外国友人吃饭的时候，我时不时地，就会向他们看去，并一直摸着口袋里的手机，还一次次在心中默念着，和他们用英语打招呼的方式……但又不想独立特行。对于我的朋友，他们故作镇定，真的“沉稳”地可怕!而我心里又在做“斗争”：“去和他们拍照?却有些害怕与不安;不去吧，又有些不甘心。”这样一个简单的问题，我一直在纠结着。

直到那些外国友人吃完饭，走出门去，我终于鼓起勇气，跑上前去，用自己“排练”好的台词与他们交流，只有短短的几分钟，我收获了满足、快感，还有手机相册里的“新成员”。当我回过头再去找我的朋友时。他们只是淡淡地问一句：“你去干嘛了?”

“我刚刚和那些外国友人拍照了!”当时我的语气中充满了自豪!

“快快快!让我看看!”我愣了愣，他们异口同声的要求，似乎比我更加激动!与先前那些“沉稳”的少年判若两人。然后他们说了一句话，让我特别有些吃惊，但也是预料之中的。

“其实，我也想去拍照的，但你们都不去，我也不敢了……”

我们常常被内心的恐惧压制着，因为习惯了一帆风顺的道路，就不敢去尝试崎岖不平的险路。这一点，是致命的!而我个人认为，作为一个青少年，应该接触“狂妄，洒脱，与自由!”，这样的品质，自然是在努力与自律的前提之下。别让自己留下遗憾，那样，我们的人生将增加一份光彩，回首过去，将是我们的欣慰。
