The Laba Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the lunar Chinese calendar. "La" is the name given to the 12th lunar month and 8 is pronounced as "ba" in Chinese, which translated is "Laba." 或许，有时正因为它们的平凡才让我们视而不见。有这样一句话：“人之所以会感动，是因为生活在爱之中。”人间有情，我们又有什么理由要让庸碌蒙住我们的眼睛而无法感受感动的滋味呢?

感动是什么?一千个人有一千中答案。因为感动不是用嘴说出来的，而是用心品出来的。

朋友，请把心从泥土中拔出来吧，腾出一点小小的空间来承受这足以让我们回味一生的感动吧。

那是三年前的事了，妈妈带我来远在异乡的舅舅家探望。舅舅家前面是一大片树林，看起来很漂亮，但那时的我并不这么认为，因为孤单的我一人站在树林中时，它便不那么美了。我整天在树林前闲逛，无所事事，也不敢一个人走进去，生怕会突然出现一只大老虎。

直到有一天我遇到了她，那段美好时光便开始了。

那天，我又在树林前发呆，她默默坐在我身旁，问我在想什么。我告诉了她，我不敢只身一人进到树林里。他说，她带我一起去。

里面真的很美，有很多种树，绿的，红的，高的，矮的。我看的呆住了，她像是向导一样向我一一介绍这些树的名字、品种和它们长了多长时间。我问她，她怎么会知道的这么仔细。她说她喜欢研究这些属于大自然的生命。

说罢，她又带我来到一棵最高最挺拔的树前面，那是一颗桉树，它真的很高。我还是后来跟妈妈回家的时候，站在一座山的最顶上，才看到那棵桉树在其它树的衬托下，显得有多么耀眼。

我把头抬的很高，跟她说，我也要种一棵这么高的树，她没有说话。

接下来的几天，我跟她在一起玩的很开心，她经常讲一些笑话逗我笑，我经常捧着肚子笑个不停，那段时光真的很美好。

一天，她握着一颗种子很神秘的叫我看，还告诉我，这就是桉树种子，我望着那棵只有米粒那么大的种子，有点不敢相信，它竟是桉树的种子。她说再高大的生命都是由小种子生长而成的啊。没想到，在我们的精心照料下，只一个礼拜，桉树就长了足足一米高。花盆容不下它了，我跟她一起为桉树选了个宝地，并把桉树种下了，我们每天都去看桉树，祈求它快快长成参天大树。如今，那时我们种下的桉树，也长成了一道亮丽的风景线。

直到后来，我才知道她的爸爸是伐木工人，在一次意外中身亡，这个桉树种子是她爸爸留给她的唯一的东西。但她却因为我的一句话，把它跟我一起分享。可惜的是，我在未回过那儿也没能亲口对她说一声谢谢。但我仍记得我与她共度的美好时光。

我站在山峦，眺望着那棵桉树，好像突然明白了，高大的生命都是由小种子长大的，这句话的内涵。

勿以恶小而为之，勿以善小而不为。惟贤惟德，能服于人。——刘备

这是一句大家都耳熟能详的名言，每每听见，大多数人都会心生愧疚。其实，不管是谁，都不想有这种愧疚，但或许就是那不经意的一个举止，就会造成过错。而一个人如果是做了一件好事，就会被全社会赞扬。不要以为这些事很小，但从这些事情中可以反映出一个人的内在素质。

这是一件就发生在我们身边的事。就在前不久，南昌市的五名中学生结伴去公园玩，刚进公园就看到惊魂一幕：两名男子撕打在一起，其中一人右腹下方血流不止，他用双手铁箍般地抓住另一名手持长达30厘米匕首的男子的手腕，大喊“别让小偷跑了”。围观的群众吓青了脸，屏住呼吸不敢出声。

千钧一发之时，五名中学生中的一人大喊：“我们上!”，随即冲了上去。另外四人也协助他制服了歹徒，并叫来警察。

“看见歹徒手持匕首，不害怕吗?”记者问。“越害怕，歹徒就越猖狂。”张彬说，当时5个人都被朱贤度的行为所震撼。尽管5个人都才十五六岁，但是“相信团结就是力量”。

是的，“团结就是力量”这群十五六岁的少年以自己的理解诠释了见义勇为的美德。

还有这样一个故事：一名老师陪同一位外籍教师去学校图书馆参观,图书馆阅览室里座无虚席,同学们都安安静静地坐着看书。两人往里面走了几步,那位外籍教师却突然站住不走了。我的老师奇怪地问他怎么了,做出继续邀请他往里走走看看的手势。他指了指自己的脚,摆了摆手,又朝周围正在埋头学习的同学看了看。那个老师还没明白过来,只见外籍教师突然蹲下身去,迅速地把自己脚上穿着的皮鞋脱掉了!然后他把皮鞋拎在手里,光着脚继续往里走。原来,他是担心自己的皮鞋走在木地板上发出的声音干扰了同学们的学习!

这个外国人的举动，看似不太雅观，实则是一种文明，一种尊重别人的文明。“仁者必敬人”，这首先被中国人提出的概念，竟然被一个外国人学到了精髓。这难道不值得我们深思吗?

作为一名中学生，我要记住，要想成为一个有文明美德的人，就要从我们自己的坐言起行上下功夫，让自己做一个文明美德的实践人，与文明牵手，与美德同行!

floating. I love this English class.
