不过随着几节英语课上下来，我们发现Miss张严肃的表面下藏着一颗有趣的心。她上课时说话语调会根据课文内容而变，比较夸张，就像在演动画片一样，我觉得她似乎能让枯燥的学习变得生动起来。她也总是会说一些笑话给我们听，这些笑话总能让我们成功的记住相关英语知识。有一次，Miss张为了让我们记住有day前面就一定有on时，她对我们说：on和day是一家人，是一辈子都不能分开的。还让我们把on和day用一个爱心连起来，这让我记忆非常深刻，因为太形象了啊！后来，每次考试在填空题或者选择题里有这题时，我就会想起“一家人”和“爱心连接”，这样我从来没有在这上面错过。Miss张真厉害，居然想到用这种方式让我们记忆知识点，而且不容易忘记！

Miss张的年龄应该是我们的阿姨辈了，但是我总觉得她就像是我们的大姐姐一样宠着我们。有一次，Miss张双手反背在身后站在走廊里眺望操场，她手里拿了一个袋子，里面有花生酥等许多小食物。我和王奕茹一下课就看到了，于是我倆偷偷摸摸地走到她背后，盯着食物袋，悄悄嘀咕着里面有些什么好吃的。这时Miss张忽然转过身来，我们两个吓了一跳，她也被我们吓了一跳，心里肯定在想：咦，这两个小丫头跟在我后面做什么？她疑惑地看了我们一眼就往办公室走去。我和王奕茹一看大事不好，美食要跑了，就赶紧追上Miss张。我们可怜巴巴地看着她，忽闪忽闪着我们的小眼睛，眼神还不时瞄向她手里的食物袋。我想Miss张应该是读懂了我们的眼神，因为她的嘴角藏着一抹笑，还给了我倆一人一个花生酥，不过她让我们不要告诉别人，说这是我们三个人的秘密。我和王奕茹开心地跑回了教室。

Miss张就是这样，表面似乎很严肃，其实内心充满了童趣。她真的是一个有趣的老师，会跟我们一起笑，一起闹，教我们英语知识时也给我们带来了快乐。谢谢您，Miss张！

Hello ！welcome to the special Chinese new years edition of discovering China. Im Alina Li and Im Ben Hedges, and today well be taking you through some of the most important traditions of Chinese new year and historical background. We will look at some of the legends behind Chinese new year and how to celebrate it. Here in the US and Chinese across the world.

The Chinese have specific way to celebrate their new year. If you walk down the street in Chinatown during Chinese New Year, you see a variety of ancient traditions such as red banners, firecrackers and lion dance performances, streets are filled with lively celebration.

However, legend has said that the new year has not always been a time of festivity. An Asian Chinese story told a chilly start to this festive holiday, it begins with an ancient Chinese beast called Nian.

Every New Year Nian would rise from swelling in the sea to ravage Chinese village in livestock and hurting people. The villages soon found out from a wise gray-haired old man that the only way to scare the beast away was to set off firecrackers and light lamps and to hang red banners on each door. As the story goes, this was the beginning of a tradition that would last thousands of years.

So this story leads to the creation of many of other traditions for celebrating Chinese New Year. lets take a look at some of these traditions.

My name is peter. I am six years old. I am from Taiwan. Many people ask me about my Chinese name because they think the meaning of it is very interesting. But I hope my friends can remember my English name rather than my Chinese one. My hobby is playing basketball. I usually play it with my friends after school, and I believe playing basketball will bring me good health. I am a talkative person. It is very difficult for me to keep quiet. Now I am studying in English, so I hope everyone can speak English to me. Otherwise I will feel very bad if I keep quiet.

My name isxx.  I am graduate from xxx seniorhigh school and major in xx.  There are xx people in my family.  My father works in a computer company.  And my mother is a housewife.  I am the youngest one in my family.

In my spare time, I like to read novels.  I think reading could enlargemy knowledge.  As for novels, I could imagine whatever I like such as a well-known scientist or a kung-fu master.  In addition to reading, I also like to play PC games.  A lot of grownups think playing PC games hinders the students from learning.  But I think PC games could motivate me to learn something such as English or Japanese. My favorite course is English because I think it is interesting to say one thing via different sounds.  I wish my English could be improved in the next four years and be able to speak fluent English in the future.

英语老师我们通常都叫他Ms谭，她长着一头乌黑的长头发，有着一双炯炯有神的眼睛，喜欢穿红色或粉红色的裙子和一双黑色的高跟鞋。

Ms谭对我们非常的严格，只要我们上课玩玩具或者开小差，她都会直接过来用手扭住你的脸，大声的骂你。

比如：有一次我们班的李佳乐上课在玩手指，Ms谭看到了，马上向李佳乐走过去，用力的扭着李佳乐的脸，大声的说“你在干什么。”李佳乐假装不知道的说“听课。”Ms谭听了，吼李佳乐说“你没玩手指吗？还在这假装不知道。”李佳乐听了，面如土灰的低下头，可是Ms谭还是不停手，大声的骂李佳乐说“上课不听讲，还在玩手指，还装作不知道，你越来越不像样了……”

Ms谭虽然有时候非常的严格，但是她有时候还是非常的和蔼的，有的时候，我们听写很好或者考试很好她会给一节课给我们到外面玩。

比如：有一次，我们全班听写全班的平均分在92.25分左右，是全年级第一，Ms谭非常高兴，走进教室说“这次听写我们全班平均分在92.25这节课给我们活动。
