公元1770年，世人最崇敬的”乐圣”贝多芬，出生在德国的波昂市。贝多芬小时候的家境清寒贫穷，全家人相处的气氛也不和谐。因为他有个脾气刚烈、个性自私、又没有责任感的父亲。贝多芬的爸爸成天不肯好好做事，只知道喝酒。幸亏贝多芬有个贤淑而吃苦耐劳的妈妈，多亏妈妈四处帮人洗衣打扫，家里的生计才能够免强维持。其实，贝多芬的爸爸并不是没有专长，他在音乐方面颇有才华，祇是不够踏实而已。他的嗓音浑厚、有磁性，曾经在宫廷里担任过好一阵子的歌手。

这份工作的待遇虽然并不怎么丰厚，至少还算安稳，但是却不能满足他爸爸心里那股过大的野心。贝多芬的爸爸总是这样抱怨，要他一辈子当歌手实在太没出息了，他一心梦想做个财富满坑满谷的大富翁。不过，想钱容易赚钱难，要不是真有两把刷子，想要赚到大钱，谈何容易哪！再说，他爸爸除了歌喉派得上用场之外，根本没有其它本领。因此贝多芬的爸爸进也不是，退也不是，总是找不着一条好出路，他心里烦闷得不得了，才借酒麻痹自己。爸爸的苦闷，妈妈心理明白得很，她常常劝告爸爸，要他衡量自己的能力做事。可是爸爸根本就听不进耳朵，他坚信，凭自己锐利的眼光，一定可以为全家人带来幸福的生活，只是这个愿望必须贝多芬努力配合，才能圆满实现。无时无刻不在为名利花心思的爸爸，到底在打些什么主意呢？原来，他非常羡慕和姊姊正在德、奥、义、法等国大开音乐演奏会的莫扎特，一位仅仅十八岁就被公认为出名的钢琴家，而且收入还相当可观呢！所以，贝多芬的爸爸决定栽培才四岁大的贝多芬朝钢琴演奏的生涯迈进，因为莫扎特也是三、四岁的时候就开始起步。

为了满足虚荣心，向来我行我素的爸爸，根本不顾贝多芬的意愿如何，只要他大声一吼：”贝多芬！快过来弹琴！”贝多芬就得乖乖就范，即使是三更半夜，照样得掀开被子立刻下床，要是动作慢了半拍，他爸爸就会拍桌叫骂，然后怒气冲冲的闯进房里，将贝多芬拖下床来痛打一番。总之，贝多芬从小就是提着心、吊着胆过日子的。有一天深夜，贝多芬的爸爸拎着一瓶酒，左摇右晃的走进家门。这时，贝多芬正躺在沙发上睡得很沉。爸爸看到贝多芬不但没有努力练琴，还躺着睡觉，一时气上心头，原本就不够慈祥的面孔，一下子变得更加严肃，他冲向沙发用力摇醒贝多芬大吼：”起来！莫扎特小时候都是熬夜练琴的，你如果想要成大器，就不要再贪睡了。”

“贪睡？”对贝多芬来说，这是多么刻薄的字眼哪！他整夜陪在妈妈身旁等爸爸回家，直到凌晨两三点钟才合眼入睡，没想到爸爸醉醺醺的一进家们就吵吵闹闹。贝多芬闷着一肚子气，本来想要大胆顶撞爸爸的，后来想想，反正爸爸是个不讲道理只讲权威的人，何必多费唇舌呢？算了，还是乖乖练琴吧！就这样，贝多芬表面上对爸爸的无理要求总是百依百顺，暗地里却打从心底排斥爸爸的独裁作风。有时候，贝多芬实在受不住委屈了，就会都着小嘴向妈妈哭诉，甚至会直截了当的告诉妈妈说：”妈，我好讨厌爸爸喔！”不过，讨厌归讨厌，爸爸总是爸爸；况且，贝多芬也是个知道轻重的孩子，无论如何，他是不会也不敢和爸爸起正面冲突的，他只是尽量避开爸爸的视线而已。贝多芬认为，只要少跟爸爸碰头，自然可以减少被迫弹琴的机会。所以，贝多芬常常一个人躲在阁楼眺望波昂街上的大广场。波昂街上的大广场很宽阔，那里是个提供人们休闲娱乐的好地方。每到黄昏时分，总会有一群大大小小的孩子们在这里玩游戏。他们有的玩跳绳，有的踢皮球，有的捉迷藏，大家都好像玩得好开心。贝多芬最喜欢趴在窗台上看小朋友天真的笑容，听小朋友开怀的笑声，感受大伙儿轻松愉快的气氛。而整天愁眉苦脸的贝多芬，也只有在这个时候才能领会什么是快乐。

由于爸爸一再使用高压的手段逼迫孩子，所以”父亲”、”钢琴”、”音乐”、”压力”等…，这些东西对贝多芬来说，都是恶梦，只会带给他痛苦而已。不过，有没有兴趣是另一回事，经过了五、六年的锤炼，加上自己的优异资质，贝多芬的琴艺倒也一天强过一天；而且，在十岁那年，贝多芬的爸爸已经没办法再引领他进入更高的境界了。于是，他爸爸只好委托歌剧团的指挥尼富先生担任贝多芬的音乐教师。

尼富先生的教法很亲切，也很特别。他知道，如果要贝多芬在音乐界大放异彩，就非得要贝多芬喜爱音乐不可。所以，尼富先生不厌其烦的为贝多芬解析乐曲内容，并且想尽办法教导贝多芬，让他把感情适当的融入乐谱中，细心体会曲调的高低起伏，再着手弹琴，这样才会比较得心应手。有时候，尼富先生还会讲些音乐家苦练成名的故事来勉励贝多芬，而贝多芬总是听得津津有味。结果，不出半年，贝多芬对音乐的热爱，竟然像一匹谁也勒不住的野马，向前直奔。可见，兴趣的培养足以改变人的一生。

贝多芬的作品有”月光曲”、”快乐颂”、”第一交响曲”、”奏鸣曲”、”命运交响曲”、”庄严弥撒曲”等等，这些都是摆脱古典主义、展现自由、热情奔放的美丽乐章。
