i am a chinese girl and i study in wuyilu primary school. i get up very

early in the morning and then help my mother cook breakfast. after breakfast, i

walk to school, because its not far from my house.

I am a December 2003 graduate from the University of San Francisco (USF) with a bachelors degree in International Business. As part of my career planning, I am very interested in supplementing my international business education with a basic knowledge of the Chinese language. This I hope will help me enter into business commerce with business organizations partnering with Chinas economic development.

I already have information from BLCU and hope to study there for at least one full year starting with this summers program continuing through the fall and spring semester 2006. Can your office advise me if such scholarships might be available to me?

I have been studying Chinese for one year now. I am not sure what level I belong to. I was told that there will be an HSK test in our university in September. I am planning to attend the test. But I dont know if the result of the test is recognized by your university. If so, can it be a help for me to apply for the scholarship?

Mother gave me a lovely "pig" made of cloth on my tenth birthday. It was

It was a long four years. Even after I had actually graduated, the

nightmares began to haunt me, the university would call to say I hadn’t truly

graduated. There had been a mistake and there was just one more class I needed

to take. I was always so relieved to wake up and realize that it had only been a

bad dream. In reality, I had completed every course needed for my degree, and I

was a full-fledged college graduate!

Now, the rest of my life loomed ahead of me. Sometimes a bachelor’s degree

prepares you for a specific occupation——you train to be an accountant, you

graduate and get a position in an accounting firm. Often, however, your stint in

college only prepares you to make further decisions regarding your future.

You’re pretty sure what you don’t want to do!

During my senior year of college, I had toyed with the idea of changing my

major. At that point, I had finally discovered what captured my heart. But,

wanting to finally be finishing school was a stronger pull. So, I took a few

courses in physiology and exercise science, but not enough to receive a degree

in physical therapy. That would require advanced schooling, beyond my bachelor’s

degree——and I just wasn’tready to tackle that. Having completed my B.C. degree,

I didn’t have any intentions of furthering my education.

So, I did the safe thing and got an office job——the very thing I was sure

that I didn’t want to do! I detested the office policies, the suits I had to

wear and the downtown environment that I had to drive to every day. I knew this

was not where I belonged.

But god knew what path my career was to follow. A position opened up at the

most exclusive health club in our city, so I applied. This was my kind of

environment——an active, vibrant kind of place——completely at the opposite end of

the spectrum from the office environment where I found myself. The position

required that I work Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Perfect, I thought! I

could keep my office job Monday through Friday and work at my dream job on the

weekends. This arrangement lasted several months until, eventually, a full-time

position opened up and I was able to resign from my office job.

Over the next few years, I worked my way up the leader, gaining experience

in several different departments. I found my niche as the director of member

services——catering to our clientele and providing them with numerous

cutting-edge programs. I would have stayed at that job forever——it seemed to be

the pinnacle of all my dreams fulfilled. Here were fellow employees who had a

passion for the same things that I did——health and fitness. Yet again, god had

other plans for my life.Within two years, a newer, bigger, better and more

state-of-the-art health club facility was built——just five miles down the road.

And, in turn, the owner lost many members to that club. And, in turn, the owner

lost thousands of dollars. One by one we were each laid off.

After trying unsuccessfully to land another similar position elsewhere, I

knew what I had to do. Go back to school!thanks!

I like travelling very much， this years winter vacation I went to wuxi，

Shanghai， wuzhen and zhouzhuang， really appreciate the beauty of them!

Wuzhen is the place where I was like， it is so quiet， so has the charm， let

a person fondle admiringly! It has the very big difference and zhouzhuang，

although is "small bridge， flowing water， somebody elses style， but the quiet

wuzhen is zhouzhuang not comparable! Wuzhen is not so busy， zhouzhuang so noisy，

but its style is one big scenery!

Listening to zhouzhuang singing tune， let I as if place oneself in the old

jiangnan dragon boat， a beat my heart a position. There is no noise， only the

sweet ship tune! This is shen three thousand hometown -- zhouzhuang! Beautiful

river， ancient， and with a style of old bridge， guarded the beautiful land of

this one party!

Todays wuxi， let me have to admire it， though the beautiful night view

than Shanghai， but it is also the mainland top ten charm city! The charm of it

is still in the scenery around it. For example： li garden， three kingdoms city，

water margin and Tang Cheng beautiful scenery of wuxi city， it is no wonder that

wuxi would be so charming. Shanghai is a city that never sleeps， this word is

true. On the beauty of the bund， looking at star of the Oriental pearl tower， a

kind of want to stay in Shanghai， live in Shanghai will be instantly. In the

Oriental pearl tower in Shanghai at night is really an enjoyment， sparkling the

huangpu river， those dots of lights， and there will be a very romantic feeling!

I live in the hotel in nanjing road， visit the store every night， feeling really

How time flies! It has been a few years since I left high school, but I

still remember you in my heart, because you’re the best teacher in my mind. It’s

not only because you taught me knowledge, but also you taught me how to study. I

Now I’m studying in Hunan First Normal College, which is Chairman Mao’s

former school. I major in English, because I find it so fun and interesting. As

far as I’m concerned, our English Department is the best department in our

college. The teachers in our department are knowledgeable, experienced, and

warm-hearted. And my classmates are nice, friendly and helpful. Thus, I have a

good atmosphere to study. When I have difficulties in study, I always ask my

teachers for help or discuss with my classmates. Through their help, I have made

great progress in my English study.

There is a tall tree in front of my house. I love it very much. When spring

comes, the thick leaves make the tree beautiful and lively. And in summer, my

parents and I often sit under the big tree and enjoy the cool air.

But when autumn comes, the leaves will turn yelow, and fall from the tree.

And then, it stands there in the cold wind alone. I am sad, too.

Mother tells me the tree wil grow bigger and taller in the coming spring. I

feel happy again.

When someone disagrees with you or offends you, don’t lose your temper.

Why? Because it is of no use to do so. You ought to (should) be patient and keep

calm lest you should quarrel with him. You must know that patience is not

Laba rice porridge was first introduced to China in the Song Dynasty about

900 years ago.

Buddhism was well accepted in the areas inhabited by the Han Chinese， who

believed that Sakyamuni the first Buddha and founder of the religion， attained

enlightenment on the eighth day of the twelfth month. Sutras were chanted in the

temples and rice porridge with beans， nuts and dried fruit was prepared for the

Buddha. With the passing of time the custom extended， especially in rural areas

where peasants would pray for a plentiful harvest in this way.

There is， however， another touching story： When Sakyamuni was on his way

into the high mountains in his quest for understanding and enlightenment， he

grew tired and hungry. Exhausted from days of walking， he fainted away by a

river in India. A shepherdess found him there and fed him her lunch -- porridge

made with beans and rice. Sakyamuni was thus able to continue his journey.

Our great motherland is one of the largest countries in the world. It has a

population of over twelve hundred million. Beijing is its capital.

We Chinese people are brave and hardworking. We have a glorious

revolutionary tradition. We drove out all the enemies. In 1949 the Peoples

Republic of China was founded. Since then great changes have taken place in our

motherland. Now our country is getting stronger and stronger. We Chinese people

are working hard to make our motherland into a powerful country.

Children are regarded as “flower of our motherland”. In our country

children are taken very good care of. Special laws have been issuedto protect

them. Thousands of schools have been set up to make education available to all

children. The Party and the government pay special attention to the growth of

children because they represent our bright future.
