much as 0.6 yuan!It will cost us a good 6 yuan to fill our stomach with such

cakes.After all we are poor students.

I wish my opinion would call your attention to the canteen service on

campus.We are badly in need of your help.

Last week we did a survey about good places in our city. This is what we

learned. Most of high school are great. No.10 high school is the best of all. It

has the best teachers and it is the most beautiful. People’s hospital is the

best hospital in town. It has the most comfortable seat and the friendliest

service. Modern Cinema is better than any other movie theater. It has the

biggest screens. Xiwang Clothing Store is the most popular in our town and has

the best quality clothes. Hefei 168 FM is the best radio station. It has the

most news and the most interesting music. I hope our city can get better and

better.

When I was very small, I saw an interesting movie, which was called Kongfu

Panda. The fat panda image was so lovely and I learned that there was such a

lovely animal in the world. Since then, I fell in love with this animal. I learn

a lot of relevant knowledge. Panda is dying out, so we need to protect them by

protecting the environment.

I like reading, reading can bring me happiness, and let me learn a lot

of interesting knowledge. I like to read story books best, such as journey to

the west. The Monkey King in this book is clever and brave, not afraid of hard

work, protecting his master, he is a responsible person. And is "journey to the

west" one of the four great classics? Is it interesting? Do you like reading

books?

Radio and television are very popular in the world today. Millions of

people watch TV. Perhaps more people listen to the radio.

The TV is more useful than the radio. On TV we can see and hear what is

happening in the world. However， radio isnt lost. It is still with us. And

listeners are becoming more. Thats because of a transistor. It is very easy to

carry. You can put one in your pocket and listen to it on the bus or your bike

when you go to work.

Recently, the news reported a small boy was studying while he helped his

mother to sell the products. Many people gave him great praise, because he could

focus his attention, but their children always wanted to play. This boy is such

strong that he must make a difference in the future. His mother is so lucky to

have a boy like him.

I understand your well-respected college offers a number of places to overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application procedure.

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. Thanks for your last letter. Im so glad that you have been able (at last! ) to arrange a holiday in Australia. As I fear I wont be able to meet you at the airport when you arrive, nor will I be able to be home until later in the afternoon, so here are some instructions and suggestions.

There is a bus from the airport to the city. It is much cheaper than a cab. Take the bus to the city and ask to get off at Town Hall railway station.

To get to my place in the eastern suburbs you have three options. You can either take a cab, a bus or the train. I suggest you take the train, since the airport bus will leave you right at the station. Get off at Cliff Station. From there you can either walk to my place (about ten minutes) or take a taxi. Probably you should take a taxi as you will have luggage.

When you arrive at my flat, ring the intercom for Flat 2. My friend Lillian will be at home and she will open the front door for you and let you into my flat.

Presumably you will be tired and want to sleep. But if you feel like some exercise after that long flight, you could stroll down to Cooper Park, which is only ten minutes away ? you can see it from the window.

Both President Bush and Secretary of State Powell have expressed their sincere regret over your missing pilot and aircraft. Both sides agree to hold a meeting to discuss the incident. My government understands and expects that our air crew will be permitted to depart China as soon as possible.

The meeting would be April 18, 2001.

The meeting agenda would include discussions of the causes of the incident, possible recommendations whereby such collisions could be avoided in the future, development of a plan for prompt return of the EP-3 aircraft, and other related issues. We acknowledge your governments intention to raise U.S. reconnaissance missions near China in the meeting.
