在近日接受采访时，佐藤康弘曾直言，苏翊鸣刚入选国家集训队时，距离当时的日本顶级选手还有一定的实力差距，但苏翊鸣后来的进步非常迅速。

2019 年，15岁的苏翊鸣获得了自己的首个国际比赛冠军：在新西兰滑雪公开赛上获得单板滑雪坡面障碍技巧冠军。

2020年和2021年，苏翊鸣又几乎包揽了所有全国正式比赛中坡面障碍和大跳台两个项目的冠军。
