Dear Tom,

Im just writing to let you know that were all well, and I hope you are, too. Unfortunately, Ive got some rather bad news for you: Im afraid I made a bit of a mess of Johns car. Anyway, heres what happened.

We were on our way to Carols after a long party, and I suppose it must have been about eleven o’clock. Well, the last few miles back home were really dark and deserted. I now realize I was probably going a bit too fast for a country lane because, although the road was fairly straight, I drove up onto the curb and went into a tree.

Of course, John was absolutely furious and started shouting at me and cursing. After we d argued for a few moments, we decided to look at the damage, and he calmed down a bit. Well, we found we could move the car, but the wing was caught on the wheel, so we couldnt drive it. I tried to pull the wing clear, but I didnt succeed.

Anyway, John went off to phone for a breakdown lorry, but while he was away, I had another go at the wing and this time succeeded in pulling it right off. I threw it onto the back seat, and by that time John got back and we were ready to go?so we didnt need the breakdown lorry at all. John has more or less forgiven me now, but he was very angry with me for a few days. I suppose I was a bit careless.

Well, thats all for now. Next time I write I hope Ill have better news for you.

Our college is an ordinary institution of higher learning.

on our campus,there are no skyscrapers,no graceful and imposing

buildings,and no strange houses.All the buildings are common,but they stand in

special relationship to each other,making a nice learning atmosphere for us.The

newest and perhaps largest building is the library.It stands in the middle of

our campus.It is seven storeys high.With its bright,spacious reading rooms and

all kinds of books,newspapers and magazines,it is the place where students like

Family comes first of course. You should wake up a little earlier in the

with your family for the whole morning. Spend some time with your family. Keep

them company and make them happy. In the afternoon, there are maybe not so busy,

My Home

Dear Sir,

I understand your well-respected college offers a number of places to overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application procedure.

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from academic work, I have been actively involved in extra-curricular activities. I am Chairman of the English Club and I have represented my school in many inter-school contests.

On the advice of my friends, I have decided to further my studies in England because I wish to widen my horizons and benefit from the scholarly heritage of your country.

I wish to continue to study the above-mentioned subjects at your college in the 2006/7 academic year before I sit the Advanced-level Examinations in England.

门外噼呖啪啦的响着鞭炮声，随着爷爷的一声吃饭喽！我家开启了欢快地年三十团圆饭进行时。

准时八点，大家期待已久的春晚开始啦，精彩的节目一个连着一个，我也跟着欢快的歌声又唱又跳，当听到一位叔叔唱得那首《时间都去哪儿啦》，开始还跟我一起开心的妈妈您去安静下来啦！我回头一看，您的眼眶红红的，我急忙坐到您的身边，靠在您的怀里轻轻问道：妈妈，怎么啦？

没什么，宝贝，听到这首歌，想到我的爸爸妈妈在衡阳独自过年，有些难过！噢，原来是这样，我明白啦，因为爸爸工作忙，我们不能赶回去和外公外婆一起过年，所以想到孤单的两位老人，妈妈您是在自责又担心，是吗？

我紧紧的靠着您，轻轻的拍着您的手，安慰着我亲爱的妈妈，坚定地说：妈妈，以后我会一直一直和您们一起过年的，每一个新年，我都会陪着爸爸妈妈！傻孩子，你长大了，有了自己的生活、有了自己的追求和无奈，总有一天会离开我们呀！虽然您是这样说，但我看到了您含着泪光的笑脸，是那样的开心、欣慰！

我和您就这样依偎着，心里暗下决心，亲爱的爸爸妈妈，不管以后我去了哪里，做了什么，我都会记得这天我们许下的诺言，记得我们的这一个新年约会，噢，或许应该说是许多个新年约会。

您好！

爸爸，在我心里，您是一个诚实守信的人。

您还记得吗？那是一个初夏的夜晚，马路上行人稀少，少了汽车的鸣笛声，四处变得那么宁静。我和您去参加一个生日聚会，因为约定的时间快到了，我心里十分的焦急，生怕晚了。

这时，我们走到一个十字路口，忽然，一个红灯出现在我的眼前。我仔细一看：哇，120秒啊！好长的红灯啊！足足有两分钟。我又打量了四周一番，马路上没有一个交警、也没有汽车。我想：那么长的红灯，我可等不及。再说也没有人看见我，偶尔闯一次红灯也不要紧。！

我对您说：爸，咱们走吧，反正马路上没有一个交警、也没有汽车。再说也没有人看见我们，偶尔闯一次红灯也不要紧。我刚刚把脚向前跨了一步，您低沉地说：孩子，你一定不能闯红灯，多危险啊！

我才不管呢，我要快点去，否则来不及了呢！再说，现在路上也没有汽车，不会发生意外的。

我们如果就为了几秒钟的时间，闯了红灯，万一突然有一辆车开过来撞到了你呢？想想后果是多么严重呀！俗话说得好：不怕一万，只怕万一！近几年来，一场场交通事故、一幅幅血淋淋的场面通过电视、报纸等媒体宣传展现在我们的眼前。难道你希望这一切发生在你的身上吗？从您的口气中我知道已经没有商量的余地了，只好慢慢的等待。

同样，即使没有人，车，也要遵守交通规则，说实话，这就是一个人的诚信。人有了诚信，才会赢得别人的信任，赢得别人的尊重，别人也会更愿意和你合作，困难时更容易获得别人的帮助。

这次，虽然我们晚到了。可您的话一直铭刻在我的心里。是啊，我们无论做什么事情，都应该有诚信，这样才会得到别人的帮助。

爸爸，您的教导我一定会牢记在心的！
