这几年，许多同学都在假期补课，而且从来没有补过，由于我喜欢玩，不喜欢学习。眼看着新的假期又要来了，我们班上的许多同学都在报名被课。有的同学喜欢补数学；有的同学喜欢补作文；大多数同学喜欢补英语，由于英语太难啦！对我来讲，英语好像从来没有及格过，看着同学们都积极学习的样子，我也有些心动了。

由于去年假期，同学们都在补课，没有人和我玩，我现在想还不如去和他们一起补课算了，那么选哪一门课呢？后来想了一想，我就决定补自己最差的英语了。那天，我报了名，英语老师说：“凤凤，你早就得补你的英语了，这次来一定要好好学，其实英语一点都不难！”听了英语老师的话，我的心里别提多兴奋了。

到了补课其间，我们每个人都准备了新的笔记本，将老师讲的每一个要点都记了下来。因为在这里补课的同学还有其他班上的同学，所以学习热情很高涨，我也不好意思玩了。别的同学做什么，我就做什么，反正自己也没有好的学英语方法，所以现在就是我最好的学习机会。

差不多一个月的时间，我的英语水平提高了许多，最后的测试分数不再是倒数第一，我终于进步了。当我拿着成绩让爸爸妈妈看进，他们一直夸我有进步，并要继续努力。当时，我的心里乐滋滋的，非常感谢假期补英语的生活。

Nothing is difficult if you put your heart into it. Nothing is easy if you

don’t try your best.

We often hear people say, “Never give up.” A person who believes in these

words will keep trying to pursue his goal no matter how many times he fails. In

my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have.

Therefore, I believe that we should never give up.

One reason is that if we give up easily, we will achieve nothing. It is not

unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new, so we should not

feel discouraged. Besides, if we always give up when fail happens, we will can

not develop new skills. Finally, we should never give up because as we work to

reach our goals, we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeed

in other areas of our lives.

Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln. Born into

poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight

elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown. He could

have quit many times - but he didnt and because he didnt quit, he became one

of the greatest presidents in the history of America.

Lincoln was a champion For the reason that ---he ,never gave up.

In short, no matter you succeed or not, you can learn something, no matter

what we learn will help us to become more confident. If we give up, we have no

chance to make our dreams come true, if we keep trying, there is always a

时间就像一道瀑布，它冲刷了我的许多回忆，却永远也冲刷不掉我思念家乡的感情。二十年过去了，我已经大学毕业，在异乡工作。这天晚上，正是中秋佳节。我吃着月饼，不禁想起故乡来。“明天，我一定要回到家乡!”我对自己说。

第二天一早，我匆匆吃完早饭，就乘着飞机回到了家乡----莆田市仙游县。我在路边等候出租车，意外发现，家乡变了。以前低矮的平房变成了高楼大厦;以前经常堵车的小路变成了宽阔的柏油路;以前光秃秃的荒地变成了绿树成荫的公园，许多人正在树下乘凉。一辆载满粮食的农用车开了过来，我不由得捂上鼻子，想躲开它尾部的黑烟。然而，车开到面前的时候，我认真一看，“咦，怎么没有尾气呢。”过了一会儿，一辆出租车在我身边停了下来，上了车，我问司机为何车子现在没有排出废气了。看着我一脸疑惑，司机笑着回答：“呵呵，以前用汽油又污染环境又烧钱，现在的汽车都改成空气能了，哪还能排出废气呢。”哦，原来是这样，怪不得现在的空气这么清新呢。

不一会儿，就来到家门口了。下了车，来到门前，我仔细一看，门上多了脸部识别，指纹识别功能，还要我输入密码。我不知如何是好，于是打了我娘的电话，让她帮我开个门。“吱呀”一声，门开了，妈妈又惊喜又亲切得拉着我的手，走进了客厅，我见到了往日对我非常严厉的爸爸。爸爸亲切得对我说：“儿呀，不知不觉，你离开家乡已经二十年了，这二十年里，咱家乡变化可大着呢，特别是环境，现在比以前好多了。”没错，这就是让我感到又惊喜又欣慰的事情。

听到了大厅里的欢声笑语，太奶奶也从里屋走出来。我连忙走上去，拉着太奶奶的手向她问好，二十年了，到现在她都91岁了，她的身体怎么看起来还是那么地硬朗?看着我疑惑的神情，爸爸好像知道了我的心思，他说：“太奶奶和大家一样，都喝兰溪旁边那条小河里的水，现在村里长寿的人特别多。”那样的水能喝吗?我听得都快吐出来了，以前那可是又脏又臭，污水汇集的烂泥沟呀!爸爸解释说：”现在不是这样了，政府投入了很大的人力物力进行改善治理，水变得清澈无比，还成了村里的一道风景线呢。”我爬上二楼，推开窗户，远远地望着丰美河，清澈碧绿的河水静静地流淌着，有人在岸边钓鱼，有人在河里游泳，确实变了。

家乡变了，环境变美了，人变健康了，人们的生活习惯也变好了........

The new year is coming, it means that I am older, I am not the little girl any more, I must make something different from the old me. Before, I was so lazy to do the housework, when my mother asked me to do it, I would make some excuses and then ran away.
