Summer can be very hot in southern taibei where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky. Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words, I must find time to study, too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations. Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this. At first I was rather dismayed at the thought of this, but later I thought it was better this way because by working hard this summer I could count on endless happy summers to come. With this in mind I then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. I was not at all bored by this kind of life, for I was sustained by a hope.

My School Life

How time flies! It has been three years since I came to the school. My school is beautiful and there are many beautiful flowers and trees. The teachers are so kind though there is always too much homework. My classmates are all very friendly to each other. We always help each other. I have learned a lot from them and made a lot of friends. I enjoy my school life. However, I dont do well in math. I’ll try my best to study math during the summer holidays. Now Im going to say goodbye to my teachers and classmates. Ill miss my school life.

A survey about smokers in a middle school tells that although 90% of all students never smoke, 3% of them often smoke and 7% sometimes do. In other words, 10% of the students smoke. That s terrible.

刚一放暑假，同学们都个个吵着要去打工，记得我自己上个学期就有去学校旁边的服装厂打过工，可是当时觉得在那打工又累又热，而且工资也不高，自己一个人又挺无聊的，所以做了二十多天就不做了，也就赚了五百多元钱。

今年一放暑假就想和同学一起去找一份不错的工作，可是到大街上找，问了一家又一家需用人的商店或公司，不是我们年龄不到就是我们看不上眼，就这样一直过了十多天，也找不到合适的工作，于是就想起了去年暑假打工过的那家服装厂，经过最后的心理挣扎，我还是厚着脸皮去找了那家服装厂的老板娘问厂里需要不需要人，最后我被录用了。到了厂里我才知道原来我班有个同学一放假就在那里做了，而且我在厂里也认识了好几个跟我们年纪差不多的学生，虽然大家都觉得工作很艰苦又没空调，不是一直坐着剪线头就是一直走进走出挂牌子，要不就是一直站着包装衣服，真得很累又重复劳动而无聊，但是我们几个学生还是坚持着，我和同班同学马丽丹一直坚持做了四十多天并加了十几个夜班，暑假打工共赚了一千多元钱，，我把这笔钱给了父亲用作本学期的学费，以减轻困难家庭的负担和压力。暑假打工赚得钱虽不多，但我感觉非常开心，，之所以非常开心，一是我第一次用自己工作赚得的钱来交学费，让身心单薄的父亲在炎热的夏天待在家中休息了几天，体现了女儿的一点孝心；二是外出打工接触社会、了解企业经营的情况和劳动纪律、工作要求，这为明年六月份的见习学习打下一点基础；三是认真完成学校交给的暑假作业，参加社会实践，过一个文明有意义的假期。

今天暑假，我去云南参加了夏令营，在那里呆了一个月。之前，妈妈告诉我，那里有很多好吃好玩的，我听了，眼睛发亮，心想：“哇，原来夏令营这么好玩！”我开始掰着手指数日子。

夏令营第一天，我带着好奇的心情出发了，但是马上就被教官的第一句话吓到了。教官说：“第一天，我们进行体能训练！”说完，就下口令：“全部给我跑15圈，10分钟完成！”刚说完，小伙伴们一下子就跑光了，我也追了上去，我可不想当最后一名。10分钟后，我们跑完了15圈，个个累得气喘吁吁，大汗淋漓，卧在地上动也不动。我摸着快要跳出来的心和干燥的嗓子，心想：“早知道夏令营这么苦，我就不来了，分明是花钱受苦啊！”

What’s the purpose of life ? What are we seeking for in our short lives ? For privilege,for money ,or just for enjoyment ? It’s the problem that everyone wants to explore. As a matter of fact , everybody needs a proper purpose in order to struggle against life . A clear purpose not only guides us but also gives us hope and energy . One’s life without love is like the sky without sunshine. Work and Love play the most important two roles in the purpose for which we seek throughout our life . But other aspects such as devotion and learning knowledge also have an deep influence on our life . These things affect our behaviour and values more or less ,even though most of us can’t realize it clearly . As the saying goes :“When we do good , we feel good , and we are good.” Set the correct purpose of your life now , And you will make a difference to your life.

I am in primary school now, and I like my campus so much. The first time I

walk in the school, I am attracted by its beautiful scenery. There are so many

green trees and colorful flowers around. The environment here is so lively. So

many students do the sports in the playground. The comfortable environment makes

me study in good mood.

Most people miss their grade school days and think they are the happiest time of their life, but whenever I recall them I cannot help feeling a little sad. In my young days I disliked any dismal atmosphere and could not bear the feeling of loneliness, yet the fact was that I often lived in a dismal home and frequently had the bitter taste of lonesomeness. I was not cheerful even in the company of my classmates at the grade school I attended. When I was alone at home the dismal atmosphere often filled me with fear even though thought here went to work in the morning but always came later than I did. For a young person like me t was too bad. Not until I was about sixteen years old had I outgrown t feeling of fear. Then there was that nagging feeling of loneliness either at home of at school. My father changed his job several times and with each change of his job we had to move and I had to attend a different grade school. Before I finished my elementary education I had attended three grade schools and thus it was difficult for me to cultivate enduring friendships. The feeling of being friendless was a constant source of pain to me. Those unhappy grade school days have of course long been over. I still have an abhorrence for any dismal atmosphere and lonesomeness, but hardened by experience I now find them less disturbing than they were.

I have spent a happy summer holiday now.The most enjoyable thing that happened during this summer was to swim with my brother.

My brother was a good swimmer ,who had swum for about 3 years.

We went swimming together on a hot sunny day to the nearest swimming pool.I liked the swimming very much because that day the sun was burning on us making us feel so hot.In the cool water we cooled down our bodies and exercised.

Please look at the new building over there. Its our library that was painted white again this year. It not only looks more beautiful, but also has increasingly more books than before. What was even worse, as a member of school basketball team, my partners and I had few chances to practice, as the playground was too small to play and full of so many students after school. Luckily, I dont have to worry about that anymore, because our playground is large enough for all of us to play games, and basketball court is also bigger. Thats wonderful!

有一次，我和妈妈出去玩，走到了新华书店门前，妈妈微笑的说：“咱们去书店看看书吧，”我点了点头，和妈妈走进了新华书店。一进书店，哇，书店里的书这么多啊!我赶紧拿起一本书津津有味的看了起来，半个小时过去了，妈妈提醒我了好几次，我都没有发觉。“妈妈，这本书的内容太有趣了，您给我买下吧!”妈妈高兴地说：‘既然你这么喜欢这本书，我就给你买下来吧!”从此，我就喜欢上了读书。

每天写完作业，我都会拿起书柜里的一本书如饥似渴地读起来。有一次，我听说班里的同学带来了一本《安徒生童话故事》，就对他说：“可以借你的书看看吗?”他摇了摇头，说：“不行，不行，这是我妈妈前天才给我买的!”

我还是想看看这本书里的故事，便对他说：“就看十分钟行吗?”他听了，只好把书让给我看。现在，我已经养成了每天读书的好习惯，同学们都叫我“小书迷”。

我的业余生活可以让我增长知识，可以让我的童年变得快乐起来，我爱我的业余生活。
