But several decades ago, people treasured their friends and maintained relatively close interpersonal relations, which is much more enjoyable than the estrangements we are experiencing.

The last factor that has made our age so uncomfortable is the abusive use of technology. Although it brings much convenience, it essentially changes human – we are no longer the master of tools, but instead the slaves of devices. We rush to metro station in order to catch an early train, sit in front of radioactive computers all day long in order to get our work done, and stay in air-conditioned rooms all summer without experiencing the natural changes outside thick cement walls. Several decades ago, people could still live closer to nature and make rational use of modern technology, which to me is the essence of human living experience.

However, the comparison between different times is itself ridiculous. The criteria could not be easily determined, and opinions are highly personal. Anyway, we have a longer life span, more advanced medical facilities, and easier traffic than our grandparent when they were children, and we should treasure the present experience. Imagination of the past might only be nostalgia – if I ask my grandparents the same question, they might as well say that our life is much better than the past generations. Who knows? Painting a bleak color represents life difficult， unpleasant time. You may find a flat with a beautiful road is not very good yet， but I do not think it will. 我的书桌紧挨着窗子，窗外是一片水杉林，虽升入紧张的初三，但我仍有聆听林中鸟鸣的习惯。面对层层翠绿，虽然体会不到“两个黄鹂鸣翠柳”的清幽，却能陶醉于众鸟闹杉林的热闹。鸟儿是活泼的，凝眸方能见其飘远的身影;鸟儿是快乐的，它们从不吝啬自己的歌声。细细品味，我发现群鸟歌唱竞也有高、中两个音区。

我陶醉于高音区的鸟鸣，它清脆悦耳，节奏欢快，仿佛朋友间正追逐游戏。“快点快点快点”“快快快快”不知是什么鸟催得这样急;“挤挤挤挤”“别挤别挤别挤”又仿佛两只鸟在争占一处新枝;而间或一串“愁愁愁”，犹如倾诉，也不知是哪一只被冷落的小鸟在诉说不快。这些鸟鸣大都快速流动，总是不打标点符号，此起彼伏，用白居易的“几处早莺争暖树”来形容，当真是再贴切不过了。我陶醉于中音区的鸟鸣。有一天做作业累了，我把目光“停泊”在树林里的一棵水杉上。细雨后的杉叶绿得直逼人的眼，而最叫人惊诧的是每一根杉叶尖儿上都悬挂着一滴亮晶晶的水珠儿，仿佛晨光中的风铃。也许是太过陶醉吧，一声浑厚的鸟鸣从树丛中飘起：“你!究竟在干什么?”我不禁悚然一惊，正当我不知所措时，树林里又飘起一声：“你——不要问。”哦，原来那只鸟不是责问我，那是处在中音区的鸟儿们的友情问答。

每每临窗凝眸，我的目光常常被树林染得翠绿，被鸟鸣擦得清亮。

Now, the summer holiday is coming to the end. I really spend a rich but happy holiday. As a junior student, I am not totally free in the summer holiday, because study is still an important part in my life. In the first month of the holiday, I study at home to finish my homework. There are many tasks I have to finish. Besides, I have to go to the English and mathtraining class, because I am weak inthe two subjects. Therefore, I need some extra training. After that, I visit to my father with my mother. My father works in other province and I have not seen him for half a year. My mother and I miss him very much. We spend near a month with him.When my father is free, he often takes us go out. We are happy together.

现在，暑假就要结束了。我真正度过了一个丰富又快乐的假期。作为一名初中生，我的暑假并不是完全自由的，因为学习仍然是我生活中的一个重要部分。假期的第一天，我待在家完成作业。我有很多作业要完成。除此之外，我还要去英语和数学培训班，因为我这两科比较弱。因此，我需要一些额外的训练。之后，我就和妈妈一起去看爸爸。我爸爸在外省上班，我有半年没见过他了。妈妈和我都很想念他。我们和爸爸在一起度过了将近一个月。爸爸有空的时候经常带我们出去。我们在一起生活得很快乐。
