I understand your well-respected college offers a number of places to overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application procedure.

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from academic work, I have been actively involved in extra-curricular activities. I am Chairman of the English Club and I have represented my school in many inter-school contests.

On the advice of my friends, I have decided to further my studies in England because I wish to widen my horizons and benefit from the scholarly heritage of your country.

After a short time, a green parrot hopped out of the enchanted zoo, and

back towards the town. As he was hopping about, the animal control came and

shouted to the green parrot; the parrot understood, and started to fly up. The

good time, but his nest became a pretty kettle of fish. His eyesight was not too

bad either; nor his ears, except they were as small as an ant. When Captain.

Cook’s ship came closer to land the parrot was all ears to hear what he was

saying. “Mates, you go down and fetch as many gold as you can, while I stay

here, I had a long week of sailing this ship; and so I’m going to stay in my bed

and kick back.”

His mates were like servants and obeyed immediately, the parrot however;

heard his every word, and wanted to stay with the captain and live. He had a

plan, and then he flew down and tickled a mate’s toe. The mate laughed, and the

they got the parrot on the ship; the captain came out, and became friend with

the parrot also.

The parrot gave him advice, and he became wealthy and returned all the

gold, but kept the treasure he found himself on other islands; and when people

trouble the parrot, the captain with which will defeat those guys with his

mighty sword.

Since I was very small, my parents would read me some stories before I

slept. I like to hear the stories that describe a girl’s growing up. These girls

are so brave and become heroines at last. I want to be one of them, so I tell

myself to be independent, helping my mom with her house work. She is very happy

to see it.

Chinese New Year is really a big festival. People will have the holiday to

stay with their families. No matter where they work, all they want to do is to

have dinner with families. I enjoy the family hour, because we share our

happiness and future expectation. How nice it is. It deserves all the year’s

hard working.

years of writing to each other, I can not wait to see you. However, I regret to

Nowadays students’ physical fitness is declining year by year. I think

there are some reasons.

Students have too much homework to do， so they have little time to have

sports. Some students eat too much junk food. That’s also bad for their

health.

Then， how to keep healthy? Here is some useful advice. First， students

should do more exercise. Second， students should eat a balanced diet. They

should eat more vegetables and fruits， and try to eat less junk food. Finally，

enough sleep is also very important.

Although we’re enjoying the modernized buildings equipped with advanced

computers sufficient lights and well-installed desks and chairs we do find it

the annoying noise made by the vans and cars disturbs our studies. For another

the classrooms which are supposed to be used for self-study are unavailable for

they are usually occupied for meetings by various kinds of associations.

Faced with such a hard nut we should find ways to crack it. I suggest that

associations with specific rooms to have their meetings in order to provide a
