通常，我们家两三个星期就要搞一次大扫除。半个月下来，家里总是囤积了不少的垃圾，大家把自己平时没用的东西都整出来，然后，再把这些东西进行分类。垃圾分类也是一门学问，不能随意乱分一通。通常我们家都把垃圾类别分的很细、很具体，比如纸张类，瓶罐类，塑料类，污染类(指电池等有害物质)等等，每次都分成好几大袋。每到我们家的清洁日，全家就便忙乎起来，我把草稿纸和没用的报纸装到一个袋子里，把可乐罐和易拉罐放在另一个袋子里，把爸爸妈妈看过的杂志和没用的文件纸放到一起，最后将这些可循环利用的物品放到一大袋子，然后送到废品收购站，这样就大功告成了。

垃圾分类虽然很麻烦，但一举多得，一是保护了生态环境，让人们安居乐业;二是通过卖废品，可以赚些“外快”;三是通过做家务，能够锻炼身体;四，也是最重要的，就是把废品进行循环利用，节约了宝贵的资源。
