Stepping into the new century, environment pollution has become more serious than ever since. There are different kinds of pollution. 电池是在生活中用得最广泛的商品之一，计算器、手表、电动玩具、电话、复读机......非常多的商品都离不开电池。可是电池用完了，就到处乱扔，造成了很大的危害。

在班上，有一半的同学都说乱扔废旧电池没有危害。

我在《十万个为什么》这本书上查到，《废旧电池为什么会致人死亡？》它的内容大概是：一年冬天，日本发现了有十几个病人：手颤，双腿僵硬，迈不开步，一会儿哭，一会儿笑。后来，两人死亡，一人投河自杀。经尸体解剖证实，不是细菌脑炎，而是与摄入了过量的金属锰有关。是因为，水井里埋过300多个回收电池，问题就出在这废旧电池上面。废电池埋在土里，外壳腐烂后，里面的锰外露，遇到氧一化碳时，转化成了水溶性的重碳酸盐，重碳酸盐随着地下水渗如井里，造成了饮用者锰中毒。

可是，我给一些说没危害的同学看了这篇资料后，他们依然说乱扔废旧电池没有危害。但我认为危害很大，因为从这篇资料上就可以看出乱扔废旧电池会导致一些人的死亡。

这告诫人们：废旧电池千万不能随便乱丢，要很好地集中处理。
