In the U.S. Mothers Day is a holiday celebrated on second Sunday in May. It is a day when children honor their mothers with cards, gifts, and flowers. First observance in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1907, it is based on suggestions by Julia Ward Howe in 1872 and by Anna Jarvis in 1907.

Although it wasnt celebrated in the U.S. until 1907, there were days honoring mothers even in the days of ancient Greece. In those days, however, it was Rhea, the Mother of the gods that was given honor.

Later, in the 1600s, in England there was an annual observance called "Mothering Sunday." It was celebrated during June, on the fourth Sunday. On Mothering Sunday, the servants, who generally lived with their employers, were encouraged to return home and honor their mothers. In the U.S., in 1907 Ana Jarvis, from Philadelphia, began a campaign to establish a national Mothers Day. Jarvis persuaded her mothers church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate Mothers Day on the second anniversary of her mothers death, the 2nd Sunday of May. The next year Mothers Day was also celebrated in Philadelphia.

Jarvis and others began a letter-writing campaign to ministers, businessmen, and politicians in their quest to establish a national Mothers Day. They were successful. I’m a 20 year-ol d boy, and the following is my story.

A month after I graduated from high school in August, 2013, I was coming home from swim_practice in the training centre of the city and was involved in a car accident. I was so seriously injured that I was in a coma for more than two months at Prince Georges Hospital.

I suffered a lot from the experience of dying eight times during my coma and I couldn’t open my mouth to talk or to communicate when I eventually came around. At that time, it seemed that walking was never going to happen again due to all the extreme injuries. Just like my body, my dreams were completely destroyed. But I was not going to let my injuries stop me from realizing my dreams．

After receiving a total of 15 operations and 36 blood transfusions, I had to make every great effort to learn to talk, eat, walk, shower, and live on my own again. When I was out of hospital,_I still had to go to outpatient therapy in Waldorf, Maryland. After I spent a few months in a wheelchair,_I took baby steps to walk on my own. It was a miracle that

I was able to walk again, but I still wanted to prove that I could not only walk, but also run.

When it came true, I wanted to get back into the pool again. After having a few lung tests, I was able to go in the pool a little bit each week. After a few months of swim training,_I began my freshman year at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and then became a proud member of the swim team.

In the middle of the seventeenth Century, mothers day spread to Britain, the British on the fourth Sunday of Lent as a mothers day. On this day, the young people away from home, to their mother to bring some small gifts.

Of all the festival in western countries, I thinkMother’s Day which is always on the second Sunday in May every year is better than any other festival.

Not only in the foreign countries but also in China, Mother’s Day has become more and more popular in recent years. It’s a special holiday to show our love to mothers. Many children will do some special things for their mom on that day, such as buying a gift of love, helping to do the housework and so on. Sending a pink or red carnation is always the best choice to their mom.

In my opinion, it’s time to take actions to do something to let moms enjoy the whole day and feel our love.

所有的节日在西方国家,我认为母亲节总是在每年5月的第二个星期天是比喜欢其它任何节日更甚。

不仅在国外还在中国,母亲节已经成为近年来越来越流行。这是一个特殊的节日来显示我们的爱母亲。许多孩子将为他们的妈妈做一些特殊的事情在那一天,比如买一个爱的礼物,帮助做家务等等。发送一个粉红色或红色康乃馨是他们妈妈总是最好的选择。

在我看来,是时候采取行动做一些让妈妈享受了一整天,感觉我们的爱。

一、活动目的：

1、让学生了解亲情，体验亲情的无私和伟大，感受中华民族的传统美德。

2、让学生回报亲情，把对父母的爱付诸实际行动。

3、激发学生从小有爱心，树立心中有他人，心 中有祖国的情感。

二、活动准备：

1、准备节目，搜集故事，收集名言，主持人准备串联词。

2、制作相关的课件。

3、邀请父母参加班会活动。

4、场景设计，渲染环境，奠定情感基调。

三、活动过程：

〈一〉、宣布活动开始：

甲：亲情，人类永恒的话题。

乙：亲情，人间最美的情感。

合：一(3)班“拥抱亲情”主题班会现在开始。

二〉、回顾篇——走近亲情

1、我名字的故事

(1)甲：我的降临，是父母生命的延续，是家庭未来的曙光。我的名字是父母理想的编制.同学们,你们知道自己名字的含义吗?

(2)学生交流自己名字中蕴涵的意义。

孩子的名字融入了父母多少的期望!学生通过向父母了解自己名字中蕴涵的期望，从而感受父母深深的爱。

2、 我成长的足迹

(1)乙：有了泥土，嫩芽才会长大;有了阳光，春芽才会开花;我们的成长离不开您呀——亲爱的爸爸妈妈。

(2)课件出示一组家庭照片，学生讲述他们成长过程中自己遭遇疾病和挫折时，父母为之作出的牺牲和为之付出的血汗。

(3)诗歌朗诵《妈妈的爱》

孩子的成长过程凝聚了父母无穷的爱;感人的生活场景能勾起孩子的美好回忆，真情交流使他们再次体会朴实的亲情，引起情感的共鸣。

3、 父母写真

(1)甲：母亲的皱纹，父亲的白发，是父母操劳的见证，是爱的涓涓印痕，是亲情无偿.

〈三〉、拥抱篇——体验亲情

1、 亲情赞颂知多少

(1) 甲：亲情是一种血脉相通的默契，是一种无法割裂的存在母亲节主题班会记录母亲节主题班会记录。

乙：因此，酬劳不是她的目的，收获不是她的动机，她是人性闪耀的光辉。

甲：多么质朴的情感啊!古今中外，有多少赞颂父母的歌、词;有多少演绎亲情的故事;有多少歌颂母爱的名言。

乙：让我们尽情歌唱或朗诵赞美父爱、母爱的歌曲和诗文，讲述古今中外关爱父母的故事，课件展示关爱父母、孝敬父母的名言警句。

〈四〉、行动篇——回报亲情

1、确定回报方案

(1)甲：记得老一辈革命家朱德爷爷在抗日前一年得到妈妈病逝的消息十分悲痛，他写下了这样一片感人的文章

(2)班主任讲《回忆我的母亲》

(3)乙：故事让我们感动，榜样为我们引路，名言伴我们同行。父母给了我们那么多的爱，我们已经渐渐长大，我们应该怎样回报父母的呢?

(4)学生讨论交流，并确定回报父母关爱的最佳方案。

2、实施回报方案

(1)给父母一份惊喜

送一份独特的礼物给父母，如自己设计的贺卡或小制作;给父母洗洗脚;最近通过努力取得的最佳成绩或获得的喜报;一封感谢父母的信……

(2)帮父母做家务事

每天在家给自己设立一个劳动岗位，帮助父母分担家务，向父母表示关爱。

(3)陪父母聊聊天

每天陪父母聊聊天，说说学校发生的事，同学之间的事，自己的心情听听父母工作的事，在沟通中积累情感。

3、倾听父母的感受

(1)甲：听了大家的回报方案，我们的家长十分的感动。下面请妈妈、爸爸来谈谈自己的感受。

(2)爸爸、妈妈谈感受。

(3)乙：亲爱的爸爸、妈妈，谢谢您们对我们的肯定，您们放心吧，感谢您们对我们的爱，我们也一定把爱回报，回报给你们，回报给社会，回报给伟大的祖国。

(4)合：最后让我们伴着美妙的旋律把手中的红花献给在座的家长。

(5)齐唱歌曲《爱的奉献》。

爱是亲情书写它独特魅力的过程。利用讨论使学生明白：积累亲情并不在于轰轰烈烈，回报父母最重要的是要有一种正确的态度，要有一颗孝心;关爱父母要体现在平时的一言一行、点点滴滴中。从现在做起，从小事做起。

My university life has been one of the most colorful parts of my life. I will never forget the day when I first stepped into the university. At that very moment, I was impressed immediately by the beautiful campus, the enthusiastic students and the good learning atmosphere. I fell in love with the campus at once.

First, studying on the campus gives me lots of pleasure. After some very arduous military training, I became absolutely absorbed in my studies. Different from high school courses, the courses in university are specific and interesting. I can get information not only from teachers in class, but also outside of class, such as in the library, on the Internet and so on. These courses arouse my insatiable desire for knowledge and make me learn and digest as much as I can. To be frank, I had some difficulties in keeping up with my teachers at first, but later with the help of my teachers, I made remarkable progress. Learning is a long process, and I will continue to be a learner throughout my life.

Besides, social activities on campus provide me with more chances to learn. I will never forget the days I served as a volunteer at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. After some training in Chinese history and language skills both in Japanese and English, I endeavored to serve our distinguished guests from all over the world enthusiastically. I was a volunteer as well as a disseminator of our splendid culture. There was no doubt that I came across many difficulties at first, such as humid weather, language barriers and so on. Thanks to other volunteers’ help, I overcame those difficulties. When it was time to depart, I couldn’t help bursting into tears, because I had developed a deep friendship with other volunteers. This precious experience made me aware of the huge responsibility on my shoulders. Just as the old saying goes, “we make a living by what we get, and we make a life by what we give.”

In my opinion, university life has been the most splendid time in my life so far, and many students cherish this period of time and hope that in the future they may become outstanding members of society. But there are also some ignorant students who get together every day only to eat, drink, play computer games or date. They completely forget their mission as a college student and their responsibility to their family to do their best in school.

I want to say that although there are lots of difficulties or setbacks during our college days, we should set our goals and achieve them. I do hope we can try our best to become productive citizens of the country and make great contributions to the nation.
