Summer Holiday in Taiwan

Summer can be very hot in southern Taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky.

Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation， however， was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words， I must find time to study， too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

All in all， travel during holiday is not a good choice for us since its inconvenience in traveling among a huge crowd of people and also the dramatically high price for goods and transportations will let us pay extra money。

Generally speaking, long holidays are good for us college students. On the one hand, we have a lot of time to study by ourselves and thus and further develop strengths.

On the other hand, we can take part-time jobs, which can make us realize responsibility and make ourselves better prepared for social life. But every coin has two sides. 一：“别跑!小蜗蜗!”

“五一”劳动节里，我在家门口花丛边种花，突然发现花丛中里有几只小蜗牛，脑筋里顿时一亮，抓几只小蜗牛养养也不错啊!我拿了一个盒子，放了些土，里面再放些新鲜的菜叶，因为我不敢去抓它们，所以只好想出第一计：引诱计。我把盒子小心翼翼地放在它们的面前，只见一只小蜗牛慢慢地爬进了盒子的小口子，只是它刚刚走了一小步，忙又回转过来，好像发现了不对之处，哼，真是一只狡猾的小蜗牛，明明肉到嘴边了，却不去吃，笨!难道它是看出了我的计策?不行，我得换一种方法叫它上钩。让我想想，啊，我的眼前突然一亮，钓鱼的钓，我也可以钓蜗牛呀!这个注意应当不错，于是我把菜叶子系在一个绳上，再把绳绕在一个小树棍上，凑到小蜗牛们的眼睛前面，摇了摇，来吧叼住它，你就会吃到最新鲜的素菜了。果然，没过多久，一只小蜗牛的眼睛便直勾勾地盯着我的菜叶子了，我屏住呼吸不动，小蜗牛观察了一会儿，终于忍不住了，一口咬住了我的菜叶，我把绳子轻轻一提，这只馋猫小蜗牛便被我拎起来放进了我的盒子里。哈哈，万事开头难，经过我的一番苦战，终于把另一只小蜗牛也钓到了我的盒子里。

二：“天上掉下个小乌龟”

傍晚，我和老爸在家门口读报纸，一个黑影突然从北方飞向我这边，“哎呀!”那黑东西差点砸向我的头，我和爸爸马上凑上去看个究竟，咦?竟然是一只巴西龟。古时候，天上会掉下个林妹妹，如今，林妹妹又重新投胎做一只乌龟了。我的心里别提有多高兴了，这下又可以养乌龟了。小乌龟被摔得四脚朝天，头和脚都缩了进去，只看见尾巴下边的“水”哗哗地流着。“这只小乌龟可能被摔得尿失禁了。”爸爸打趣地说着。过了好长时间，小乌龟才慢慢地翻过身来，把头伸出来。我把一根红带子系在它的脚上，这样我就可以遛乌龟玩了，别人遛狗，我便遛龟，我要把它当作我家的一员，谁叫它从天上掉到我们家门口呢，此乃天意啊!
