I’m a 20 year-ol d boy, and the following is my story.

A month after I graduated from high school in August, 2013, I was coming home from swim_practice in the training centre of the city and was involved in a car accident. I was so seriously injured that I was in a coma for more than two months at Prince Georges Hospital.

I suffered a lot from the experience of dying eight times during my coma and I couldn’t open my mouth to talk or to communicate when I eventually came around. At that time, it seemed that walking was never going to happen again due to all the extreme injuries. Just like my body, my dreams were completely destroyed. But I was not going to let my injuries stop me from realizing my dreams.

After receiving a total of 15 operations and 36 blood transfusions, I had to make every great effort to learn to talk, eat, walk, shower, and live on my own again. When I was out of hospital,_I still had to go to outpatient therapy in Waldorf, Maryland. After I spent a few months in a wheelchair,_I took baby steps to walk on my own. It was a miracle that

I was able to walk again, but I still wanted to prove that I could not only walk, but also run.

When it came true, I wanted to get back into the pool again. After having a few lung tests, I was able to go in the pool a little bit each week. After a few months of swim training,_I began my freshman year at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and then became a proud member of the swim team.

By telling my story, I want to make a positive influence on the world. I am just trying to live dad push me round in my them and their family members. I wanted to let them know that everything was going to be okay. Somehow, things would work out for the best.

In China, every year the Spring Festival every household this paragraph of time is the most busy time. My house is no exception.

On New Years eve the day before, and I will help with the preparation of the New Years eve: mothers and grandmothers made cleaning, reception guests, making dumplings, etc. Although the work is very tired, but it can be fun, especially when making dumplings.

The freshness of color of beautiful dumpling seems very simple, actually it can be complicated. Want to ready before the first flour and water, and together, hard rub, rub, pressure, and then roll them with a rolling pin into sheets thin wrappers. I am after some efforts, finally rolling out the first doing the wrappers! I gently lay it in my hand, lest it accidentally broken. The wrappers already all finished! Should now start to prepare the dumpling stuffing. Mother used to hide minced meat chopper hemp slip, grandma washing at the celery. My task, at the end of the eighteenth pork with celery and celery to make pork filling. In a short time, the stuffing dumpling also completed. The work are done by those who experienced the aunt, we only waiting for the second day of New Years eve children taste the delicious dumplings!

Finally the long-awaited New Years eve! The grandmother home is full of relatives and friends, you gather around the big round table, eat family reunion dinner and our dumplings package yesterday. Men drink, women watch Spring Festival gala, the children are clamour to set off firecrackers in the courtyard, been very busy.

In the day, because of last night, shou sui, I the whole morning in bed asleep and wake in the mind still thinking about last night and friends to play.

This is a full of the flavor of traditional culture is very happy New Years eve!

The best thing to see is fireworks; the most pleasing thing is fireworks; the most popular is the fireworks.

I also love fireworks, love that beautiful. Bright fireworks.

My hometown is in the countryside, a small country, every time I have to go back every year, this year is no exception.

It was dark, no moon, no stars, no light. People were watching TV at home, waiting for the start of the Spring Festival Gala, and there was a quiet silence. Suddenly, “ a bombardment of ” a sound, breaking the silence. I ran out to see that someone started to smoke.

The fireworks, so close to me, bloomed on the top of my head. After the loud noise, it is like a myriad of small stars, forming a round ball. There are red, green, yellow, purple … … colourful, very beautiful.

Then all the people began to smoke. Around the sound, &ldquo bomb; ” like thunder, the sky was also reflected a riotous with colour.

I stood on the roof and looked at the beautiful scenery. Because the countryside is surrounded by mountains, so, when the fire and fire in all directions rise, it will appear to be very hierarchical. Its near here. Its far away. Here we see the whole form of fireworks, where only a point and a little light are seen.

Somehow, I suddenly felt a kind of happiness. Looking at the fireworks that bloomed, it was like a warm stream passing through it.

&ldquo, fireworks, can make people happy? ” I cant help asking myself.

“ yes, but I dont know why. ” I thought in my heart.

Looking at the fireworks, I fell into a fantasy. I dream of my family and I sat down to eat family reunion dinner, laughing and talking, not a lack of, a lot; I imagine my friends and I can happily spend every day, no worries, no quarrel; I imagine my future life rich and colorful; I think I thought everything, all wishes all; I can imagine waking and meet, he looked carefully, with listening to his song … … I imagined all the beautiful picture, the heart suddenly enriched many.

The lovely fireworks, like the pure smiling face of the child, make people happy. The bright fireworks are like countless glittering eyes filled with love, so it makes people happy. The beautiful fireworks, like a flash in the pan, just fell off. It brought happiness to people in its most wonderful moments, and left peoples daydream space to imagine the happiness they want.

I stood there and looked at the fireworks, but my heart had long gone, and I flew to the happiness of the fireworks.

Outback winter old words, Rui rabbit send auspicious spring. In XX, the CCTV Spring Festival Gala was in the eyes of hundreds of millions of Chinese children. As a traditional Chinese festival, the Spring Festival is the convergence and release of the spirit of the times and the national sentiment in a year. The 1000 word composition is "how do we celebrate the Spring Festival 1000 words". The Spring Festival is the theme of "full of joy, innovation and good life; song and laughter, sharing happiness", this theme can fully and vividly show the XX Spring Festival theme atmosphere and good hope. Therefore, whether old or new, the "good life" and "happiness" is an annual feature and common emotional memory. So we define "happiness" and "beauty" as the core words of the theme of the Spring Festival Gala. "The good life" with "innovation", embodies the "theme of building an innovative nation"; "happiness" as "sharing", is a National Peoples wish to share the reform and development to create a happy life in XX years, two is the wishes of the people sharing family reunion bring happiness in the new years eve.

The opening stage is almost the same as before. All the stars came out, showing their beautiful singing and graceful dancing. I didnt agree with them. The next move I was most touched.

The Xidan girl (Ren Yueli), with her own efforts and courage, went to her dream Spring Festival Gala. Some time ago, I saw a girl in Xidan "I want to show" outstanding performance in the program on TV, she revealed to the expression and discourse deeply touched every one of the judges present, finally ushered in the moment she realized her pride, desire has always been, I am happy for her I cheer for her. It can not be separated from her self-confidence, hard work and persistence, what a common girl! We are going to learn from my sister in Xidan!

To be true, I dont appreciate Jay Chous singing, because I cant hear the lyrics in his mouth. In this special stage, Jay Chou changed his style changed from a magic program will show about his violin skills. I still have to top him, after all, hes still the first Spring Festival evening. And the music of this part of the magic show is Jay Chous song "the preface of Lanting Pavilion". Compared to "Jay Chou magic", the female assistant of the magic is more concerned. This is the "Taiwan first beauty" Lin Chiling who is playing the magic with Jay Chou. In addition to performing magic, Lin Chiling will also sing a short Lanting Pavilion preface with Jay Chou, giving people a refreshing feeling.

When the "good times" the short time, I saw the familiar Mao and aftertaste. They have played the couple on TV, and we should be familiar with them. The short plot was: Mao to buy a lottery ticket for his good friend snow, unexpectedly in the five million grand prix, two couples in the temptation of money, almost move the heart, reserved, but they can not stand on their conscience, and ultimately chose the friendship between friends. This piece was rewritten on the basis of the personal experience of a lottery owner, and one of his words, who was the one who was, was admirable. Yes, how many people can do this in real life?

This years Spring Festival Gala is different from previous years. There are many ordinary migrant workers who have the chance to show their demeanor on the stage. Ordinary people can also go to Spring Festival Gala. What a wonderful thing it is!

Happy time is always short, when the ear back to the familiar "unforgettable tonight", I have to know to say goodbye to this years Spring Festival, although reluctant to part, although Lianlianbuwang, but such a festive feel forever in my heart, the Spring Festival evening to touch my heart will accompany me through this rabbit years until I meet again next year and she!

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is sometimes called the "Lunar New Year" by English speakers. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Years Eve is known as chú xī. It literally means "Year-pass Eve".

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Lunar Calendar. The origin of Chinese New Year is itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions. Ancient Chinese New Year is a reflection on how the people behaved and what they believed in the most.

Celebrated in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese, Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors, as well as cultures with whom the Chinese have had extensive interaction. These include Koreans (Seollal), Tibetans and Bhutanese (Losar), Mongolians (Tsagaan Sar), Vietnamese (T?t), and formerly the Japanese before 1873 (Oshogatsu). Outside of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, Chinese New Year is also celebrated in countries with significant Han Chinese populations, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. In countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States, although Chinese New Year is not an official holiday, many ethnic Chinese hold large celebrations and Australia Post, Canada Post, and the US Postal Service issues New Years themed stamps.

Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely. People will pour out their money to buy presents, decoration, material, food, and clothing. It is also the tradition that every family thoroughly cleans the house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of “happiness”, “wealth”, and “longevity”. On the Eve of Chinese New Year, supper is a feast with families. Food will include such items as pigs, ducks, chicken and sweet delicacies. The family will end the night with firecrackers. Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes. The Chinese New Year tradition is a great way to reconcile forgetting all grudges, and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone.

Although the Chinese calendar traditionally does not use continuously numbered years, outside China its years are often numbered from the reign of Huangdi. But at least three different years numbered 1 are now used by various scholars, making the year 2009 "Chinese Year" 4707, 4706, or 4646.

The Chinese New Year celebrations are marked by visits to kin, relatives and friends, a practice known as "new-year visits" (Chinese: 拜年; pinyin: bài nián). New clothes are usually worn to signify a new year. The colour red is liberally used in all decorations. Red packets are given to juniors and children by the married and elders. See Symbolism below for more explanation.

On the days before the New Year celebration Chinese families give their home a thorough cleaning. There is a Cantonese saying "Wash away the dirt on ninyabaat" (年廿八,洗邋遢), but the practice is not usually restricted on ninyabaat (年廿八, the 28th day of month 12). It is believed the cleaning sweeps away the bad luck of the preceding year and makes their homes ready for good luck. Brooms and dust pans are put away on the first day so that luck cannot be swept away. Some people give their homes, doors and window-frames a new coat of red paint. homes are often decorated with paper cutouts of Chinese auspicious phrases and couplets. Purchasing new clothing, shoes, and receiving a hair-cut also symbolize a fresh start.

In many households where Buddhism or Taoism is prevalent, home altars and statues are cleaned thoroughly, and altars that were adorned with decorations from the previous year are also taken down and burned a week before the new year starts, and replaced with new decorations. Taoists (and Buddhists to a lesser extent) will also "send gods" (送神), an example would be burning a paper effigy of Zao Jun the Kitchen God, the recorder of family functions. This is done so that the Kitchen God can report to the Jade Emperor of the family households transgressions and good deeds. Families often offer sweet foods (such as candy) in order to "bribe" the deities into reporting good things about the family.

The biggest event of any Chinese New Years Eve is the dinner every family will have. A dish consisting of fish will appear on the tables of Chinese families. It is for display for the New Years Eve dinner. This meal is comparable to Christmas dinner in the West. In northern China, it is customary to make dumplings (jiaozi 饺子) after dinner and have it around midnight. Dumplings symbolize wealth because their shape is like a Chinese tael. By contrast, in the South, it is customary to make a new year cake (Niangao, 年糕) after dinner and send pieces of it as gifts to relatives and friends in the coming days of the new year. Niangao literally means increasingly prosperous year in year out. After the dinner, some families go to local temples, hours before the new year begins to pray for a prosperous new year by lighting the first incense of the year; however in modern practice, many households hold parties and even hold a countdown to the new lunar year. Beginning in the 1980s, the CCTV New Years Gala was broadcast four hours before the start of the New Year.

The first day is for the welcoming of the deities of the heavens and earth, officially beginning at midnight. Many people, especially Buddhists, abstain from meat consumption on the first day because it is believed that this will ensure longevity for them. Some consider lighting fires and using knives to be bad luck on New Years Day, so all food to be consumed is cooked the day before. For Buddhists, the first day is also the birthday of Maitreya Bodhisattva (better known as the more familiar Budai Luohan), the Buddha-to-be. People also abstain from killing animals.

Most importantly, the first day of Chinese New Year is a time when families visit the oldest and most senior members of their extended family, usually their parents, grandparents or great-grandparents.

Some families may invite a lion dance troupe as a symbolic ritual to usher in the Lunar New Year as well as to evict bad spirits from the premises. Members of the family who are married also give red packets containing cash to junior members of the family, mostly children and teenagers.

While fireworks and firecrackers are traditionally very popular, some regions have banned them due to concerns over fire hazards, which have resulted in increased number of fires around New Years and challenged municipal fire departments work capacity. For this reason, various city governments (e.g., Hong Kong, and Beijing, for a number of years) issued bans over fireworks and firecrackers in certain premises of the city. As a substitute, large-scale fireworks have been launched by governments in cities like Hong Kong to offer citizens the experience.

The second day of the Chinese New Year is for married daughters to visit their birth parents. Traditionally, daughters who have been married may not have the opportunity to visit their birth families frequently.

On the second day, the Chinese pray to their ancestors as well as to all the gods. They are extra kind to dogs and feed them well as it is believed that the second day is the birthday of all dogs.

The third and fourth day of the Chinese New Year are generally accepted as inappropriate days to visit relatives and friends due to the following schools of thought. People may subscribe to one or both thoughts.

1) It is known as "chì kǒu" (赤口), meaning that it is easy to get into arguments. It is suggested that the cause could be the fried food and visiting during the first two days of the New Year celebration.[citation needed]

2) Families who had an immediate kin deceased in the past 3 years will not go house-visiting as a form of respect to the dead, but people may visit them on this day. Some people then conclude that it is inauspicious to do any house visiting at all. The third day of the New Year is allocated to grave-visiting instead.

Waking up on New Year, everybody dresses up. First they extend greetings to their parents.

Then each child will get money as a New Year gift, wrapped up in red paper. People in northern China will eat jiaozi, or dumplings, for breakfast, as they think "jiaozi" in sound means "bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new". Also, the shape of the dumpling is like gold ingot from ancient China.

So people eat them and wish for money and treasure.

Southern Chinese eat niangao (New Year cake made of glutinous rice flour) on this occasion, because as a homophone, niangao means "higher and higher, one year after another." The first five days after the Spring Festival are a good time for relatives, friends, and classmates as well as colleagues to exchange greetings, gifts and chat leisurely.

China has 56 ethnic groups. Minorities celebrate their Spring Festival almost the same day as the Han people, and they have different customs.

Since the Spring Festival Gala on CCTV was established in the 1980s, it has been confirmed to be a huge success by attracting most audience in China. On the Eve of the Spring Festival, numerous Chinese will sit in front of the television screens looking forward to enjoy the annual celebration.

In modern China, watching the gala is still a traditional way to celebrate Chinese lunar New Year. However, the Gala seems to be suffering from declining rates of audience over the past few years. Actually, the Gala is never the only option any more when competing with several local televisions, which provide better possible choices. In addition, it is criticized that the traditional items of the Gala fail to appeal to people’s changing appetite, particularly the younger generation. Although the famous stars from Hong Kong and Taiwan are highly expected to add some freshness and modern elements to the performance, the Gala are still somewhat disappointing, far away from splendid. Consequently, the Gala is advocated to be cancelled due to its declination of reputation as well as the stereotyped content.

From my point of view, the Spring Festival Gala on CCTV should be still reserved because it is really good at creating a very colorful holiday atmosphere. Besides, it does have at least one or two excellent performance every year some of which become indelible memories. If the Gala can be redesigned to enrich its performance further, it will get away from being mediocre. But it is unnecessary to expect achieving its previous success. After all, the time has changed.
