康德活到差两个月零十天满80岁，最远只去过俄罗斯元帅洛索夫的庄园，该庄园距柯城137.7公里！他固守柯城，是因为他和爱因斯坦一样，当教授。但是，这个梦想让康德付出了远超过爱因斯坦的执着，1764年，柯大才给了年过40的康德一个诗艺学教授讲席，当时欧洲平均寿命50岁，16岁上柯大的康德一口回绝了，有些文章说此时康德已经发财，所以有资本挑剔。此言不确。一年后，康德就任薪水远比教授差的大学图书馆员就是明证。馆员虽然收入差，却也是42岁康德的平生第一个固定职位。后来，42岁的康图书管理员还拒绝了埃尔朗根和耶拿大学工资超过柯大三倍的教授职位。

执着者不一定成功，但成功者一定执着。1770年，康德以46岁高龄终获教授讲席，按50岁的平均寿命计算，康德这个书呆子还有四年可活。没有谁——包括他自己——会想到，他这个教授要一当27年。

欧洲大学传统，虽然并无“每年必须在核心期刊发表两篇论文”之类的规定，但教授的江湖地位，却取决于论文质量和数量。一年没有，自己知道；两年没有，同事知道；三年没有，学生就知道了。虽然不会下岗（欧洲教授向为终身制），但个人声望势必跳水。

康教授，厚积11年，居然没有一篇科研成果！非议沸腾，康德由是名声大振，一举跃居平庸教授榜首，成为德国教育界的头号笑柄。当时哲学泰斗摩西?门德尔松（作曲家门德尔松之爷）公开称康德让所有的德国大学蒙羞。康德学生克芳斯一次在柏林参加教授聚会时宣布康德正在写一本伟大的着作，赢得首都教授们的一片哄笑和调侃。地理学家兼天文学家伯努利访问柯城后写道：“我在伯爵家里和一位学者共进午餐，他是柯大最伟大的成员之一，受人尊敬的康德教授。这位着名教授是社交中活泼有礼的人物，他拥有如此优雅的生活方式，以致让人很难想象他体内藏着这样一颗深深探求的心灵。但是，他的眼睛和面容流露出大智大慧，与达朗贝尔的相似之处确实引人注目……康先生很久没有发表哲学着作了。他保证他不久便会出版一本小册子。”

他说的小册子的就是《纯粹理性批判》。当时，康德自己也认为《纯粹理性批判》只能写成小册子。孰料一动笔，数月之间，856页的《纯粹理性批判》便一挥而就。但是，这本“欧洲有史以来写就的最重要的书”（叔本华），出版之后竟无人喝彩。真正令人对《纯粹理性批判》望而却步的，是它太晦涩难解了。它甫一出版，即夺得哲学史长句冠军——一个读者写信抱怨康德：“读你的书十个手指头都不够用，因为你写的句子太长了。我用一个指头按住一个从句，十个指头都用完了，一句话还没读完！”

德国人传统生活理想是：买一栋楼，种几棵树，养一只狗，结一次婚，生一堆孩子。康校长只办到了一点：63岁的时候，他买了一栋楼。小楼位于市中心僻静后街，并不豪华，一个花园美轮美奂，可却是别人的，因为在楼内根本看不见它。一楼一边是能装80人的教室，另一边是厨娘睡房，常卧一猫一狗；二楼一边是饭厅、图书室和卧室，另一边是客厅和书房。书房里有两张书桌，一只三脚半圈椅。可康德入住后才发现书房正对柯城监狱。当时监狱改造思想的灵丹妙方是让犯人每天三遍高唱圣歌，唱得最卖力者可评“先进”缩短刑期。因此，犯人们唱起歌来都是情真意切，声震四野，让康校长大烦，盛夏亦不得开窗。为此，他多次求助于铁哥们儿、市长兼警察局长西佩。这件事体现出欧洲法治的伟大。校长与市长的铁交情大也不过法律书上那几行字。西佩虽然很想帮康德，却无法绕过市议会直接下令犯人停止唱歌。这事儿最终没办成，所以三大批判中的《实践理性批判》和《判断力批判》，都杀青于犯人们颂圣歌中。

对生命有追求者，对邻居要求必高。康德与邻居，有许多故事。哲学需静思，康德因此视音乐为噪音，偏偏邻居有只勤勉晨鸣的公鸡。康德不堪其扰，高价买下准备一了百了。岂知该流氓邻居拿到钱后坚决反对康德杀鸡。最后，康德不得不把鸡养下去，只是这回公鸡每天是在他自己的院子里叫了！

康德傍晚时分喜欢眺望窗外柯城大教堂的尖顶，休息眼睛，放松思想。然而另一邻居尼科罗维斯花园里的杨树疯长，不久即遮住教堂。康德向尼氏抱怨。尼氏比养鸡的邻居好。他应康德的要求把杨树砍了。

据研究，哲学家能否伟大，与其生活是否规律成正比。康德是最好榜样。有传记作家表扬他曰：“康德的一生就像一个最规则的动词。”是的。而且是一个从不与其它词搭配的动词。康德这个规则动词，首先规则在他的起居时间表。海涅盖棺论定：“康德没什么生活故事。因为他既无生活，也无故事。”另一位着名康饭尼采倒是肯定康德有故事。他说，康德的一生就是“一个脑袋的故事”。说这话时，尼采当然没料到自己的一生只有一个故事，而且是个没有结果的故事——莎乐美。

现将康德起居时间表罗列如下：

4:45浪泊叫醒康德。康德命令：无论他怎么赖床，浪泊都必须把他从床上提溜起来。这是康德一生中最激烈的斗争，但每次都以浪泊胜利告终。

5:00喝两杯茶，抽一斗烟，备课。康德严格规定自己每天只抽一斗，终生不变。但是，随着年纪增加，烟斗越来越大。

7:00—9:00在一楼教室上课。

9:00—12:45写作。康德的三大批判都完成于这个时间段。

尼采13岁开始纪录自己言行以备后世景仰，黑格尔也有同样爱好。但是，虽然生前就有人作《康德传》并寄给他本人，但以写字为生的康德没有自传。他说：“世上无人像其自以为是的那么重要。”同时代启蒙大师莱辛说：“康德承担了教谕世界的重任。他激赏一切充满生命的力量，单单忘了自赏。”康德是有意为之。在《纯粹理性批判》第二版（1787）前言中他曾引用培根《科学的伟大复兴》的名言“denobisipsiussilemus”（我们个人不值一提）。

康秀才这个规则动词不仅规则在日程表上。还有他那最为着名的散步。

康德每天16:00必出门散步，教堂钟声随着他迈步出门响起。因此，柯城居民很多以康德出现来对表。鲜为人知的是，康德散步不仅定时，而且定点。他永远沿着小菩提树路散步，每天八个来回，一步不多，一步不少。康德去世后，该路被市政府命名为“哲学家之路”。

康德散步，规则良多。他永远穿着灰大衣，手里永远提根儿司的克（手杖），只用鼻子呼吸，因为他深信张嘴会让风湿病从口而入。康德认为散步使人感官彻底开放，神游四方，心驽八极，精彩程度堪比纵横世界的旅行。有人说：“康德所有的伟大历险都发生在他的头脑中。”另外，他散步时拒绝与人交谈，认为一开口就会打乱自己散步的节奏。与爱因斯坦相反，康德还从不携友散步。他认为这会使自己不由自主地调整步幅和步速配合朋友，这样他就会出汗。康德跟怕出汗，这位德国启蒙大师认为人的体液里含有大量营养，绝不能轻易流失。

成功派对，必有美女；成功餐会，必有美食。康家午餐菜品精美，连芥末也完全自制。康校长没老婆，但有个私家厨娘，可见“食色性也”排序之正确。久病成医，贪吃成厨，康校长自己亦烧得一手好菜，兴之所至，常常亲自下厨炮制私家菜飨客，菜品上桌，满堂轰然，不亦乐乎。

康德跟歌德一样流连杜康，但与一般人相反，他年轻时喜饮红酒，上了年纪反爱白酒。康德反对酗酒，曾说：“醉酒者非人，只配以兽待之。”不过，他自己酒过三巡却经常指点牛排，激扬沙拉，把喜欢的菜夸上天，把讨厌的菜骂下楼，所以西佩曾郑重建议他在“三大批判”之外再写一部《厨艺批判》。

1788年，康德连任校长。同年，《实践理性批判》出版。这本书回答人类的第二大问题：“我们应该做什么？”这本书终于让摩西?门德尔松成为康德一生的敌人。他怒称康德为“超级搅屎棍”。文坛后生、着名戏剧家克莱斯特更在信中高喊“我惟一的、至高无上的目标沉没了。我现在已经没有目标”。十年之后，他吞枪自杀。

自由，是康德最重视的基础价值。康德哲学中，自由是知识、道德、法律和美的前提。他说：“人不可能被判为奴。他只能自认为奴！”康德说：“自由不是为所欲为。自由是可以不做违心之事。”自由，就是有权自由选择。

什么是善？善就是可以追求自己的幸福。

怎样才能追求自己的幸福？首先要有自由。

康德为写《纯粹理性批判》沉默了11年，但《实践理性批判》出版后两年，《判断力批判》就接踵而至。《判断力批判》要回答的是人类第三大问题：人类是否还有希望？这是个美学问题。康德说，只有民主政体能够保证人类的自由，因此人类的希望在于建立民主政体。他与爱因斯坦殊途同归：人类的希望在于实现永久和平与建立世界政府。康德继卢梭之后指出了实现这个理想的具体操作手段。1795年，71岁的康德在《致永久和平》中提出世界永久和平的基础是公民的自由和权利。公民之间的权利由法律保障，全体公民作为立法者制订法律，公民服从法律就是服从自己的意志，公民因此而获得自由。

哲学思想之外，康校长的婚姻观，也是我们的好榜样。康德根本就不想结婚。他曾说：“有三件东西有助于缓解生命的辛劳：希望、睡眠和笑。”注意，不包括爱情。显然，他认为爱情属于生命的辛劳，而非享受。那时的欧洲哲学大师流行当和尚，笛卡尔、帕斯卡尔、斯宾诺沙、霍布斯、莱布尼兹、洛克、休谟、叔本华、尼采和齐克果，个个均是终身光棍儿。到黑格尔、费希特、谢林和马克思，就发现男人的一半是女人，就成为欲望的俘虏，就彻底拜倒在石榴裙前，轻易地把自己混同于引浆卖流之徒了。但好玩的是，从没出过国的康德对各国人民的爱情生活如数家珍：“在爱情中，德国人和英国人胃口很好，感觉细腻，但品位粗粝健康。意大利人为此绞尽脑汁，西班牙人充满梦幻，法国人则喜欢偷嘴。”更有甚者，康校长对女性看法相当不恭敬：“男人爱时才会嫉妒，女人不爱时也会嫉妒，因为她的裙下之臣转而追求其他女人了。他认为，最完美的婚姻，是能帮助男人摆脱经济困难的婚姻。

从来没有一个女人是“康德的女人”。这只与康德有关，与女人无关。康德经常与美女促膝谈心，研讨美食，斗牌沙龙，观看戏剧，欣赏音乐。康德研究者盖尔教授在《明镜周刊》采访中明确地说，康德确实有两次认真地考虑结婚。不过，显然他考虑得太久了，以至于对方在他考虑好之前已经嫁作罗敷。

实际上，康德不结婚，完全不是因为哲学，而是因为恐惧：他害怕性爱使自己衰老。跟今天的小资怕生孩子一样。这个伟大的哲学家有很多迷信，他曾说，人生只有两件坏事——衰老和结婚。74岁时，他写到：“未婚（或者很早丧偶）的老人比已婚者更易长葆青春，而这也很可能是长寿的原因。”据说他还有柯城男性居民寿命统计表为证。

其实，康德不结婚，除了惜命，最大的原因是惜金：“当我需要女人时，我养不起她们；当我养得起时，我不需要了。”

他就是一个穷怕了的、节俭过度的孤寒老头儿。

这对他的道德没有影响。这对他的哲学也没影响。

康德曾说：“我们鲜少在光明时想到黑暗，在幸福时想到灾难，在安逸时想到痛苦，不过，反过来的想法却经常出现。”

康德如此重视养生，都是因为疑病症。不过，与歌德相反，康德并不怕死，他说：“生得伟大者，笑对无常。”疑病症患者康德健康活到80岁，相当于今人活到110。1803年，康德终于得了胃病。其实并非大病，但他就此逐渐虚弱下去，记忆力江河日下，一只眼失明，最后连朋友也认不清楚了。他只好警告学生们说：“朋友们，我已年老体衰。你们必须像对待孩子那样对待我了。”

康德恐惧年老是因为害怕天才流逝。他说：年高之人，判断力增强，才华却减弱。这是他惟一未能用行动证明的话：康德这个时期留下的遗稿，证明这位年近八旬的老翁仍然拥有澎湃的创造力。

1804年2月12日，长期卧床的康德奄奄一息，闻讯赶来的学生们手足无措地环绕病床。某学生出主意把三大批判搬到床头，希望老师在皇皇巨着簇拥之下充满自豪地踏上黄泉之路。看着自己毕生的心血结晶，康德忽然泪流满面。他轻叹道：“如果把这三本书换成个小孩子，该有多好！”
