how time flies! it is ahnost a month since i arrived here and began a new life as a university student. but all this time, i have been missing you and my dear school. i just can not tell you how grateful i am to you for the help you gave me during my preparation for the university entrance examination. now i will tell you something about my university and life here.

our university lies at the foot of mount zijin, in the eastern suburbs of nanjing city. the campus is very big,with a big sportsground surrounded by lots of modern classroom buildings. what have impressed me most are the big library and the well-equipped language lab. our campus is also very beautiful. there are quite a few well-kept gardens. every road is lined with trees. how happy we are to study in such an enviromnent!

Wei, our English teacher. We felt English very difficult when we began to study

English. Miss Wei had a good idea to solve the problem. One day, Miss Wei came

into the classroom with some fruits, such as apples,bananas,and oranges. She

said: “Today we are going to learn the names of the fruits. You can eat the

fruits if you can tell me their names in English . ”All the students listened

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

接下来的日子，黄老师一如既往地忙碌：每天早早地到校，带领大家晨读、上课、去食堂吃午餐、到操场上参加大课间活动……一天午间休息时，我去老师办公室送作业本。推开门，我被眼前的一幕愣住了：办公桌上摆着大大小小的药瓶，桌旁放着一张躺椅，黄老师正靠在上面，盖着毯子闭目养神。原来，老师还没完全康复啊!我不忍心打搅她，轻轻地掩上门。我要赶紧去告诉那几个调皮的男生，别再惹老师生气了。

记得去年9月10日，为了庆祝教师节，我班决定每人出一点钱，给老师一个特大的惊喜。

那天中午，尽管天还下着瓢泼大雨，但同学们还是早早地来到了学校。同学们都在抓紧时间布置教室。瞧，小朋友把气球口含在嘴里，使出全身力气吹，脸都涨得圆鼓鼓、红通通，样子真逗人;小刚正在钉花呢，他右手拿着木棍，左手拿着塑料花，用木棍使劲锤着钉子，热得汗流满面。看到同学们干得热火朝天，我也迫不及待加入他们的行列中。

我和几个女同学把五颜六色的蜡光纸剪碎，我们打算把这些碎纸片装进气球里。可是说来容易做来难，那气球口小得不能再小，本以为一个人可以做的，工作要两三个人才能做好。小红把大拇指伸进气球里，费了九牛二虎之力才把气球口拉大，我抓了一些碎纸片想把纸片塞进气球里，可气球偏偏不给面子，把纸片卡在中间，怎么也不肯下去，我和小羽费了好大力气才把纸屑捅下去。我想：真是比我想像中的难得多啊!小小的气球，没想到这样“倔强”。做完几个特殊气球，我们已经是汗流颊背了。

大家又把布置黑板的任务交给了我。我叫两个男同学把气球粘在黑板边沿，我自己就在下面贴花。我把五颜六色的塑料花并排贴在黑板上，还把心形的卡片围成一圈贴在黑板上，到最关键的地方了，我用彩色粉笔在中间写上“教师节快乐”几个大字，教室已经布置好了!看着焕然一新的教室，我想，老师见了一定很高兴吧!

老师来了――激动人心的时刻来了!老师一走进教室，躲在墙壁后面的小雯和小静立刻跳出来，拿着喷桶，对准老师，老师还来不及躲，就被“射”中了。老师浑身上下沾满了彩带，像一个小丑，弄得大家都笑得前俯后仰。躲在墙壁后的小远本来想在老师进门时把装着纸屑的气球扎破，没想到气球要跟他作对似的，一碰到木棍，气球又飘到另一边，我们都笑得肚子疼了。

“哈哈哈……”这欢乐的笑声缭绕在校园上空……

Like tangible cultural heritages such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden

City, intangible cultural heritages like Peking Opera and

Confucius-commemorating rituals are equally crucial. We should make our utmost

efforts to preserve intangible heritages because, without their physical form of

existence, they are in greater risk of extinction.

According to UNESCO’s Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible

Cultural Heritage (2003), all forms of social customs and habits, folklore,

performing arts, rituals, oral traditions, festivals, traditional crafts and

various knowledge and practices about nature and universe can be classified as

intangible cultural heritages. As a country consisting of a great diversity of

ethnic groups and with time-honored history and civilization, China abounds in

intangible cultural heritages. Cultural heritages connect modern people with the

historical past, allowing them to acquire a cultural and historical identity.

Without cultural heritages, we would be rendered absolutely rootless and we

would find it hard to cope with challenges at present and in the future.

However, the modernization process poses mounting threats to intangible

heritages. Many people have a blind faith in the latest electronic devices. It

is also pathetic to see elderly people in possession of such legacies pass away

without transmitting them to the younger generation. Faced with those

challenges, we should both preserve and renovate our ancestral heritages so that

we can help contribute to the cultural diversity of the world and return to our

spiritual homeland in this age of impersonal science and technology.

今天是“六一儿童节”，是你在小学阶段过的最后一个儿童节，再有一个月你就要小学毕业了，迎接你的是激昂的青春和美好未来!你曾说过我们欠你一个“儿童节”，因为你比同龄的孩子早上了一年学，我们答应在明年的“六一儿童节”继续给你过节。

女儿，你的人生之路才要真正开启。你即将告别懵懂的童年，儿童眼中的世界是简单的黑白世界;而今后你将会看到人生真谛，风云诡异，奇妙变幻，起伏跌宕，波澜壮阔。你眼中的世界会越来越宽广，也越来越纷杂混乱。你要练就独立自主思考，坚定理想信念，勇于迎接挑战，在不断的探索和进取中，获得成长的快乐和惊喜，但有时也会有委屈和伤感。这也是一个人成长的必然经历，也要学会坚强、学会自己去解决生活中遇到各种问题，当然，如果你有需要我们帮助解决的事情，我们永远乐于相助，无论何时，家永远是你停靠的港湾!

现在你已经是1.6米的“大姑娘”了，但你还是愿意我们叫你“小乖”。即将步入青年的你要不断磨炼自己的意志品质，好的习惯和品质将伴随你一生，也将决定你将来的成功。“播种行为，收获习惯;播种习惯，收获性格;播种性格，收获命运。”，形成性格要靠习惯，习惯又是由不断重复的行为而形成的，归根到底在于行为。而个人行为的养成只能靠不断自我克服不良习惯的意志磨炼，没有任何捷径可言，甚至是自我割舍的短期疼痛，但最终收获的是无往而不胜的自信和坚强。你是个有上进心的孩子，只因为年龄小可能会有一些不好的毛病，这没有什么?每个人都会有各种各样的坏习惯和坏毛病，但只要能改正了就好。但要一直无所谓、听之任之下去就会铸成大错。孩子，一个人要敢于面对自己的不良习惯，敢于向自己提出挑战。给你讲个《雄鹰再生》的故事：鹰是寿命很长的动物，一般能够活到70岁，但是在它40岁的时候，自身功能下降，它的爪子很长，而且开始弯曲了，不再锋利。同时，它的羽毛开始丰厚，飞行高度、速度开始下降。它的捕食能力下降，将面临饿死的危险。于是，它便进行了150天的训练，它带上足够的食物，找一个山洞躲起来。先用石头把自己的爪子上的指甲砸下来(要是把你的手指甲掰下来，是不是很疼呢?)。等待爪子恢复好，用锋利的爪子，把自己翅膀上的羽毛一根根拔下来(把自己的头发也一根一根的拔下来，疼吗?)。然后，鹰还要等待，等待它新的羽毛生长出来以后，它的羽毛是非常轻盈的，它的飞行高度和速度都恢复了，它的爪子也锋利了，它还可以继续翱翔30年。

这个故事告诉我们，改正自己学习习惯的过程是一个非常痛苦和艰难的过程。我们希望女儿能成为展翅高飞的鹰，自由翱翔在自由的天空，去经风雨、见彩虹。

人的能力不是天生的，每一项技能都要靠后天无数次的学习、实践，再学习、再实践，不断重复训练才练成的，“不经一番寒彻苦，哪得腊梅吐芳香”。在今后的成长过程中你要为自己未来的腾飞储备能力，即通过不断的自我强化使之形成坚毅的受用一生的品质能力。

第一，有远大梦想，且能持之以恒地坚持下去。真正做到“立长志，而不是常立志”，“志当存高远”，有句话说得好“心有多大，世界就有多广”，坚定的理想目标是一个人在遇到困难还能百折不挠，争取胜利的坚强支柱。

第二，积极心态，独立人格。具有乐观的世界观和积极上进的主观能动性，能够客观正确的看待世界，思想开放自由，具备良好的自我认同，敢于迎接挑战，坚信自己是最好的，坚信自己一定能够克服一切困难，坚信自己的明天更美好。

第三，自控能力，说到做到的执行力。自我控制能力，其实每个人都有，就是自觉控制欲望的能力，在“是与非”、“对与错”中，经常要进行正确的取舍，不为不良的欲望驱使，不贪恋一时花花世界，不成为“口头上的巨人，行动上的矮子”?能控驾驭自己的理想之舟一直奔向胜利的彼岸。

第四，抗挫折能力，艰忍的耐力。如果不具备抗挫折能力，在人生路上就不会“笑到最后”，生活中总有各种各样的不顺心、不如意，但这些只是暂时的，是生活对你的考验，要坚信“阳光总在风雨后”“梅花香自苦寒来”的道理。

第五，珍惜友情,善于交际能力。人际交往能力不足的人是不易成功的。你的同学将会是你一生的财富!他们可能会是你今生结识最久、了解最深、情谊最浓的朋友。在你未来的航程中，同学、朋友，可能会比父母陪伴你的时间更多，他们给你的鼓励以及安慰会更贴心，所以，你首先要学会多交朋友、交好朋友，这样你才不会感到孤单，人生也才会因此变得更丰富、更有力量。

第六，珍爱生命，分享快乐，激扬青春。每个人从一出生就开始了倒计时，所有经历过的一切都成为了过去，就像你即将逝去的美好童年一样，总有一天你要回望你的青春，感叹时光飞逝。所以，你要珍爱父母给你的生命，让自己青春无悔，做所有适宜有意义的尝试，让自己的青春丰富多彩，让自己的才能和水平得到提升。要在愿意帮助别人的同时也乐意接受别人的帮助，要在分享和分担之中感受这个世界的温暖。一份幸福，分享给另外一个人就会变成两份;一份痛苦，请另外一个人来分担就会变成一半。分享和分担才是生活的本质，幸福不在物质，而是心灵的愉悦和满足。

第七，善于学习，取长补短。“三人行必有我师”，要谦虚谨慎，多学习借鉴别人一切的长处和优点，多改进自己的不足。人的一生就是学习提高的过程，学习只有起点，没有终点。学习使人进步，只有不断学习才会使自己处于优秀的行列!正是“学如逆水行舟，不进则退”。
