the Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a GREat part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. My first impression of this story was from screen.

Its long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I dont remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. Its pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the heroine,though I didnt think shes beautiful. But shes smart. However, I didnt pay much attention to the plot. During this term I have read a novel The Red and the Black. The novel was written by the French writer Stendhal in the 19th century. Marie·Henri Beyle better known by his pen name Stendhal was one of the critical realism French writers in the 19th century . The military and theatrical worlds of the First French Empire were a revelation to Beyle. Known for his acute analysis of his characters’ psychology and reflection of society he is considered one of the earliest and foremost practitioners of realism in his two novels Le Rouge et le Noir (The Red and the Black 1830) and La Chartreuse de Parme (The Charterhouse of Parma 1839). How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded. For me the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. 开始，老人先是准备了几天，然后划船离开码头。几天后，他找到合适的地点钓起鱼来。可令他非常意外的事情发生了，他捕到一条大鱼，然而当天，他没办法把那条鱼拉上来，因为鱼太大太有力量了。就这样，一场较量开始了。连继二天，他们都在拉来拉去。到了第三天，较量终于以老人获胜结束了。老人发现那条大鱼竟然比老人的船还长，老人决定把那条大鱼绑在船舷上返航。可一件非常不幸的事发生了，途中鲨鱼开始吃那条鱼。就这样，老人和鲨鱼战斗起来。每天，老人都要打死一些鲨鱼，虽然很残酷，可要保住这条鱼又有什么办法呢。

最终，鱼肉被鲨鱼吃光了，只剩下骨架，老人被打败了。然而他休息了几天，又准备出海打鱼了。

我要学习老人坚持不懈的精神。

Not long ago I just read the English version of "Diary of Anne Frank." In fact this is not the first time I read this book. When I first read it in elementary school and read the Chinese version. Then still small still can not read that means nothing. Now it seems there feeling very deeply.

Anne Frank was a Jewish girl. She could and ordinary girl living a happy life but she was not hiding different parents attic. Anne all day hiding in dark little attic to escape the Nazis killing. She could not get close to nature can not be friends like before play. In the shadow of the shadow of death Anne only keep a diary to get through tough every day. For her the diary as her friends her only friends can rely on and talk. She wrote in her diary a lot there are silent on the racial discrimination complaint more of the outside world the natural yearning for thinking about life.

From her diary I can imagine she was helpless fear but a more leisurely and calm. This is a great girl.

After reading the "Diary of Anne Frank" my heart is very heavy. Nazi racial discrimination maiming and killing innocent pretty much the same as Annes children. War is always nasty it makes human experience is a market catastrophe.

Thank you "Diary of Anne Frank" and let people see the ugliness of war to get people to think about and condolences for the unfortunate people.

I enjoy summer vacation very much. Because summer vacation is the longest vacation of the year.

We have more than fifty days to rest.

Though it is very hot, we can either go to swim or stay in the air-conditioned room. In the

evening, I like to go shopping with my friends, We can eat many things in summer, Such as ice

creams, Watermelons, grapes, and so on. In summer, I always go on a trip with my parents.

Its a good chance for us to visit some nice interesting places.

Everyone should have a belief in his heart about life, beauty, and noble humanity. This is what Gump told me, who is a true man full of courage ,love, and sincerity in my mind.

Life is a box of chocolate and we can never know what it is inside before we open it. Just as Mrs Forrest put it, everyone has a destiny. As for Gump, he was thought to be a perfect fool since he was young. While, after watching the movie, I can not help but admire this young guy because of his braveness to deal with obstacles, his consistence to love and his devotion to friendship. Stupid he might seem to be, Gump gave a meaningful lesson to us who are what called more intelligent people.

Born as a boy with natural defects, Gump eventually accomplished plenty of achievements which we ordinary people can not approach. With a plain thought and natural optimism, Gump just did what he was good at, running as fast as he could, struggling toughly against destiny with all the facilities he had been given. To our surprise, he eventually graduated from college, got a military medal, became one of the best pingpong players around America and even owned a huge shrimp company. Astonishing and unbelievable as it was, those miracles did happen sometimes. Who says that great success only belongs to those

with super talents? In my opinion, those who endeavor to make their best also deserve applause and respect. Let us run towards the new sun and embrace everyday with hope and we can make a difference.

To tell the truth, I can not help but shed tears several times when I watch the moving scene where Gump rushed into dangerous forest again and again to save his battle companions. What great selfless devotion Gump showed us! Unfortunately, Bubble, one of the best friends of Gump died in the battle field, which left a great grief to Gum. While, after retiring from military service, Gum kept his promise and purchased a big shrimp ship in order to finish Bubble’ dream. Meanwhile, he also provided financial support to Bubble’ family. First Lieutenant Dan, a staunch soldier, who lost his two legs in Viet Nam , abandoned himself in the abyss of despair. Nevertheless, Gump still supported him and finally help him make peace with God. Gump told us that genuine friendship needs nothing but love and sincerity.

Life is like a feather which drifts randomly in the swing of wind and there are quite some things we can not determine. But what we can do is traveling as far as we can with a genuine belief for courage, love and sincerity .If so, when time flied and all things fade away someday, the fragrance of our mellow life will last forever, just like what Gump did.
