我的家乡是地处湘鄂赣三省交界的宝地——通城县。我在这里出生，在这里成长，却不曾对它有过深入的、全面的了解。直到前些日子，我们学校开展了一次校外实践活动——天岳关扫墓，才使我对它有了一个比较全面、比较深刻的认识。

那天，阳光明媚，晴空万里，仿佛是为了照顾同学们的好心情，老天爷格外的给面子，阳光照在身上暖暖的，却绝不炎热，同学们欢呼雀跃的登上专车，随着车轮的转动，聒噪的城镇慢慢的远离了大家，幽美迷人的天岳关正一步步向大家奔来。山路越来越崎岖，但这并不影响大家欣赏美景的心情，你看那两侧连绵的群山，如两条巍峨的青青苍龙，从南向北游弋而来。山上的树木，郁郁葱葱，仿佛是仙女为群山特意缝制的衣裳，精美绝伦。

下了车，芬芳的泥土气息扑面而来，路边的草丛间，开着朵朵不知名的花儿，粉的、红的、白的、紫的，像是太阳公公一不小心洒落在人间的七彩宝石，色彩斑斓、娇艳欲滴；其貌不扬的竹笋也颇引人注目，它们一个个穿着黄褐交织的小睡袍，或三个一群，或两个一伙的嬉戏于楠竹林间，无拘无束、异常可爱！再往上爬，就看见一块块奇形怪状的石头，有的像含苞欲放的莲花，有的像椭圆的蛋，有的像慵懒的猪，像伏地的蛙，像展翅的鹰，散落在林间，叫人应接不暇。越往上走，烟雾就开始萦绕、弥漫，远山隐没在这白色的仙境里，愈发迷离。一瞬间，竟忘了自己是谁，仿佛自己就是这山间的一株小草，只静静地，静静地陶醉在这难以言喻的仙境之中。

“天岳关到了！天岳关到了！”同学们的欢喊声把我拽回了现实，跟随着人流踏入关口，一股庄严肃穆的气氛立刻攫住了我的心，往北走，我就看到了一道石门，石门上刻有“无名英雄墓”五个大字，两端为石雕龙头；两边石门柱顶端为石雕军人头像，头像下面有一副对联：“灵护天岳，气壮黄龙”，对联下面各有一位持枪站岗的军人浮雕。浮雕目光炯炯有神，威严地注视着前方。走进石门，便是宽敞而又陡峭的长条大理石墓道，沿墓道拾级而上，我们便到了山顶——无名英雄墓主墓。为了纪念抗战阵亡的将士，一九三九年八月，原中国国民革命军陆军第九十二师梁汉民部，于此修建了这座“无名英雄纪念墓”。
