The world is not only hungry,but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earths surface is covered with water. And we cannot even use all of that, because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers. Even worse, some of it has been polluted.

Did you know that to produce a single ton of steel, it takes about 91, 000 liters of water?

We all have to learn how to stop wasting our precious water. One of the first steps we should take is to develop ways of reusing it. Experiments have already been done in this field, but only on a small scale. For us, the systems are as important as the spacecraft.

我用手拽着他们，严肃地质问：“你们为什么要乱丢垃圾？为什么要折断那些柳枝呢？”他们不仅不反思，还生气了，对不服气地说：“我们这样怎么了？我们只是玩。”听到他们这样说，我更加生气了，说：“你们就能随随便便把大自然弄成这样吗？玩是玩，但你们玩的方式不对，你对得起我们的家园吗？你对得起辛勤劳作的环卫工人吗？”“你这人真多管闲事，我们玩什么，要你管呀，这是我们的事，关你屁事！”

我的家乡在美丽的安徽芜湖。这里风景优美，物产丰富。

从前，我的家乡是一个幽静美丽的小山村，村里的小河清澈见底，在阳光的照耀下波光粼粼，小河四周绿草如茵，花儿姹紫嫣红，艳丽无比，天空湛蓝深远，空气清新甜润，树木郁郁葱葱，美丽极了!

现在的家乡，发生了翻天覆地的变化，小山村从原来高矮不一的房子变成了现在一排排拔地而起的高楼大厦;以前泥泞的土路，现在变成了宽阔的水泥路;以前的街上人烟稀少，现在我的家乡新建了商业步行街，那儿繁华热闹，商店里琳琅满目的商品让人看了眼花缭乱。这一切，使我的家乡焕然一新，繁华美丽。

可如今，唯一不足的是家乡的环境在一天天地遭到破坏和污染。因为我的家乡就在工业区附近，工业污染比较严重。工业污染不仅破坏了生物的生存环境，而且直接危害着我们人类的健康。工厂里排放出来“三废”，即废水、废气、废渣，严重地影响到了我们的环境。废水流到小河里，转眼间，小河的水变成了黑色，里面的鱼儿大部分都死了，浮在河面上，微风吹过，不时发出一阵阵难闻的气味。废气传到空气中，空气受到了严重的污染，人们再也呼吸不到清新甜润的空气了。废渣堆放到地上，使土壤严重地遭到破坏，如果在这些土壤里种植庄稼，那些庄稼必定很难成活。
