The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Double Fifth Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar. It is one of the most important Chinese festivals, the other two being the Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year。

The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Chu Yuan. He was a good and respected man, but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperors court。

Unable to regain the respect of the emperor, in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river. Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan, the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons。

Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan, their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival。

今天，我为我们家安装新热水器，做了一件天大的好事。 本来我家的热水器早就应该换了，但是因为阀门的事情苦恼着，由于开关断了，关闭不了阀门，所以，我们准备在停水时把阀门更换了。

我想试一试能不能用扳手把阀门关了，我拧之前没有仔细观察破损处，拧了半圈之后，突然有一股水冲到我的脸上，妈妈正在洗碗，她拉着我冲出了厨房。轰的一声，阀门爆开了，一股强劲的水流直冲天花板，所有的饭菜锅碗都淋湿了，水在一分钟之内，漫到了客厅。

爸爸急忙穿着雨衣冲了进去，企图用锤子把木楔打进漏洞。但木楔哪能压得住强劲的水流，刚刚安上去就被水冲飞了。妈妈赶快打电话向水电班救援。过了一会儿，来了两个水电工，关上了整栋楼的阀门，这场闹剧才结束。

关闭阀门之后，我们开始打扫战场，柜子里的碗全装满了水，天花板上的石灰被冲下来了一大块，厨房里四分之三的东西全打湿了，。

这下好了，阀门也换了，可以安装热水器了。我当时完全吓傻了，脑子里面一片混乱，我从来也没闯过这么大的祸，心想：完了!爸爸一定会借题发挥，把我的漫画全扔了。令我庆幸的是，爸爸并没有打我，而是给我讲道理，分析原因。

今天出错的原因是我没有认真观察阀门结构，盲目行动，拧错了地方。本来应该拧阀门中间的小圆柱，可我却想都没有想就把固定阀门的螺丝拧开了。

在生活中，我不止这一件事出错，还有许多同样的错。比如，我不假思索地拆开了枪，却不知道怎么装回去了;洗鸟笼时，随便把鸟粪冲到墙角等。

从这些差错中，我汲取了深刻的教训，遇事要三思而后行，多观察，多分析，多考虑后果。不然就会造成不好的后果，甚至可能造成不可挽回的损失。

同学们，俗谚说，当一天和尚撞一天钟。我们当一天学生为何不读一天书呢?说真的，学习不是一桩非常轻松的事，但这是我们的责任。英国王子查尔斯曾说：“这个世界上有许多你可能不喜欢做，但你不得不去做的事，这就是责任。” 不喜欢读书， 但又坚持着尽力去读，这就是一个学生有责任心的表现，如果你不喜欢读书，就干脆逃避读书，那你还配得上自己的学生身份吗?

《语文情》报纸“教女有方”一文中讲了这么一个故事：有一个叫虹的女孩非常厌学。一天早晨起床后咳嗽不止，于是就趁机央求父亲那天不上学。当教师的父亲没有批评她，而给她讲了一段亲身经历的事情。父亲说:“那年我18岁，在一所小学任班主任，并教数学课。那天，天气异常炎热，我提前进了教室，想洒点水给教室降降温。推开教室见水已经洒过，教室后面四张并起的课桌上躺着一个女孩子。我听到女孩用微弱的声音在说什么，我伏下身子，听到她在说：‘数学——数学——’我叫女孩的名字，她已经不能答应。我抱其她飞快地奔向医院，医生说是中暑，问题不大。女孩醒来后，我问她:‘你病了为什么还不回家休息?’她说：‘因为上午有数学课。’‘你喜欢数学课吗?不，我讨厌数学课，但我觉得父母挣钱很不容易的，我已经答应妈妈，每期都考满分，所以我不学不行。’”

父亲的故事使虹认识到，学习是一种责任，是每一个人都不能逃避的，不学不中呀!从此，这个故事就一直激励着虹，使她在16年的学习生涯中没缺过一节课。后来他顺利的拿到了硕士学位。

是呀，有多少学子就是在这种责任意识的驱使下，在孜孜不倦刻苦攻读的呀!为了父母那焦灼的双眼，你必须去学习;为了老师那案牍劳形的身躯，你必须去学习;为了伟大的祖国强大，不再遭受大使馆被炸毁，飞机被撞落，轮船被无端拦截的屈辱，你必须学习。因为你是父母的儿女，你是老师的学生，你是祖国的公民。你的这些身份决定你必须承担起学习的责任，必须做好学习这一分内之事。如果一个人没有做好他分内之事，他就应该承担起相应的过失，受到相应的谴责，这就是平时我们所说的追究责任。这是字典对责任一词所做的第二条解释。

责任是生命中的必修课，作为新时期的高中生，我们应该勇敢地担起学习这份责任，千万不能因推卸责任而令家庭、学校、社会去追究你的责任啊!

High school is very important in one’s lifetime. Nowadays, the movies about the high school time are so popular, but the stories are exaggerated, my memories about high school life are so different from the movie. During the three years, study occupied most of my time. I fought for the future with my classmates. We studied together and shared our opinion about the difficult points. When I made great progress, I was so happy, but when I fell behind, I would not give up. I grew up and became patient, I was not the little girl anymore. In the part-time, I would go to play basketball with my friends, it became the most exciting thing at that time. Though the high school life was simple, I gained a lot. I would never forget the classmates who worked with me together.

高中是一个人一生中非常重要时刻。如今,关于高中生活的电影如此受欢迎,但这些故事被夸大了,我对高中生活的记忆是不同于电影里面的。在三年里,学习占据了我大部分的时间。我和我的同学们一起为未来奋斗。我们一起学习，并且分享我们对难点的意见。当我取得很大的进步的时候,我很高兴,但是当我落后,我也不会放弃。我长大了,变得有耐心,我不再是个小女孩了。在课余时间,我会和我的朋友一起去打篮球,这成为最令人兴奋的事情。尽管高中生活很简单,但是我收获了很多。我永远不会忘记曾我和一起学习的同学。

High school life is so wonderful for me, and I have made many good friends.

We fight for our future together. As there are so many subjects for me to learn,

I spend most of the time studying knowledge. But deep in my heart, I like sports

so much, especially tennis. When I knew our school had tennis club. I felt so

excited and wanted to be part of it. But the problem was that what if I lagged

behind other students in study as I spent the time on this hobby. At last, I

still decided to join tennis club, because I wanted to do something special and

enriched my high school life. I tried hard to make plans for my study. At the

same time, I spared some time to play tennis. I found the balance and enjoyed

the thing l liked.

海阔凭鱼跃，天高任鸟飞。诗的美就蕴藉包容的美。

文豪雨果就曾说：世界上最宽阔者是海洋，比海洋宽阔的是天空，比天空宽阔的是人的胸怀。是的，人的胸怀可以包容一切，正如俗谚：额前可跑马，宰相肚里能撑船。

包容，是虚怀若谷，求同存异;宽以待人，严以律己;以和为贵，以德报怨等等，是人的情操的升华，真善美的闪光。

世界需要包容，人应学会包容。

包容是快乐的源泉。学会包容，不以物喜，不为己悲，生活就充满阳光。别怨天空阴霾，或许这正好给在大野中耕耘、勘探辛劳的人们投下凉爽;别怨公交车偶然短暂迟到，或许司机正在用这分秒时间扶掖一位老人上车;别怨旁人的缺点，或许他也在忍受像你一样的缺点的折磨;别怨命运坎坷，或许它正在磨砺你的意志。少抱怨，多包容，才能在世间播撒快乐的种子。

包容是友谊的基石。真正的友情，从真诚开始，用包容维护。廉颇、蔺相如“将相和”，是因包容而凝结友谊，共同保国。林肯在政治舞台上活跃时，常有一批人和他对立;他入主白宫后，并未报复这种势力，而是包容化为朋友。

包容是成就事业的重要条件。公子小白尽弃前嫌，任管仲为相，终成春秋首霸。诸葛亮更是以宽广胸怀赢得孟获和少数民族的信服。古今成大事业者，必有大胸襟，学会包容，能把胜利也包容过来。

但包容不是纵容，不是全部容受。“三人行，必有我师焉”还有下句：“择其善者从之，其不善者而改之”。对假恶丑不能包容，因为那是对卑鄙罪愆的包容。

或许，多一点包容，便不会有伊拉克的战火硝烟，巴以形势的纷乱动荡。

我们伟大祖国，要建立和谐社会，要争取和平统一，也需包容。

学会包容，让心灵拂扫暗影，卸除负担，驰骋在更广阔的天地！

1. 太阳像个老大老大的火球，光线灼人，公路被烈日烤得发烫，脚踏下去一步一串白烟。

2. 天气闷热得要命，一丝风也没有稠乎乎的空气好像凝住了。

3. 冬天的太阳像月亮一样苍白无力。

4. 和煦的阳光，透过稠密的树叶洒落下来，成了点点金色的光斑。

5. 将圆未圆的明月，渐渐升到高空。一片透明的灰云，淡淡的遮住月光，田野上面，仿佛笼起一片轻烟，股股脱脱，如同坠人梦境。晚云飘过之后，田野上烟消雾散，水一样的清光，冲洗着柔和的秋夜。

6. 苦重而炎热的空气仿佛停滞了;火热的脸愁苦地等候着风，但是风不来。太阳在蓝得发暗的天空中火辣辣地照着;在我们对面的岸上是一片黄橙橙的燕麦田，有些地方长出苦艾来，竟连一根麦穗都不动摇一下。

7. 路旁边浪似地滚着高高低低的黄土。太阳给埋在黄土里，发着肉红色。可是太阳还烧得怪起劲的，把他们的皮肉烧得变成紫黑色，似乎还闻得到一股焦味儿。

8. 满天垂着湿润欲滴的云，时时像是忍着眼泪的样子，竟或有一阵雨丝，追着飒飒的秋风扑上你的脸，但立刻又嘎然停止，像不屑哭泣似的。江水和天空像是一双愁容相对的朋友，带着沉痛的忧郁，和暗淡无光的灰色。横卧在江天之间的绿洲，也觉得很无味，收去了它的颜色。

9. 满天红云，满海金波，红日像一炉沸腾的钢水，喷薄而出，金光耀眼。

10. 没有敢抬头看一眼太阳，只觉得到处都耀眼，空中、屋顶、地上，都是白亮亮的一片，白里透着点红，由上到下整个像一面极大的火镜，每条都是火镜的焦点，仿佛一切东西就要燃烧起来。

11. 清澈的空气使大地广漠无垠，把它无限地扩展开去。一切都在往远方同去，而且在召唤人们也到大地的蓝色边沿上去。站在这地方看见太阳升起过十多次，每一次在我的面前总是诞生一个新的世界，充满新奇的美丽。

12. 深秋的太阳像被罩上橘红色灯罩，放射出柔和的光线，照得身上、脸上，暖烘烘的。

13. 太阳刚露脸的时候，我沿着小河往村里走，那么淡淡的清清的雾气，那么润润的湿湿的泥土气味，不住地扑在我的脸上，钻进我的鼻子。

14. 太阳一到秋天，就将它的光芒全撒向人间。瞧，田野是金黄的，场地是金黄的，群山也是金黄的。

15. 太阳一年操劳到头，忙到冬天，就筋疲力尽，几乎放不出热力来了。

16. 太阳正被薄云缠绕着，放出淡淡的耀眼的白光。

17. 晚秋了，太阳懒洋洋地挂在天上，像个老公公露着笑脸在打瞌睡。

18. 午后的阳光，太强烈了，连秧田里的水，都给蒸得暗地发出微小的声音。禾苗叶子晒得起卷子，失掉嫩绿的光泽，又没有一点风，人走在两边都有禾苗的田埂上，简直闷热得浑身流汗，气也不容易透一口，因此谁也不愿出来了。

19. 炎炎的烈日高悬当空，红色的光如火箭般射到地面上，地面着了火，反射出油在沸煎时的火焰来。

20. 阳光被层层叠叠的树叶过滤，漏到他身上变成了淡淡的圆圆的轻轻摇曳的光晕。

21. 阳光透过淡薄的云层，照耀着白茫茫的大地，反射出银色的光芒，耀得人眼睛发花。

22. 走进美丽的校园，首先映入眼帘的是庄严的高大的教学楼，教学楼呈“凸”字形，楼旁耸立着一根银光闪闪的旗杆，上面飘扬着一面鲜艳夺目的五星红旗，她像一团火，映照着整个校园。登上顶楼，可以观赏到整个校园的美丽景色。

23. 这么多的栀子花，各有各的姿态。看看这一朵，很美;再看看那一朵，也很美。哇!旁边那些栀子花好漂亮呀!只见她们两个两个挤在一块儿，头挨着头，像一对亲密无比的好朋友正说着悄悄话……

24. 早上，我刚从梦中醒来，眼前一片光亮。是雪姑娘照亮了整个大地，是她，为人们创造了最美的境界。是她，让雪花在一瞬间，变成了桂花树上的花朵，看不清也数不尽;又像是从天上掉下来的碎银子，银光闪闪。‘’

25. 仰天望去，便会发现春天独特的湛蓝无边的天空与洁白无瑕的云朵。天上的云朵有的像一匹威武的骏马在草原上奔驰;有的像一只猫跳跃着想要抓住四处逃跑的老鼠;还有的像两只调皮淘气的猴子在一起开心地玩着捉迷藏。我们观赏着这些奇幻多变的云彩，感觉惬意极了。

China has the history of more than 5,000 years. Many foreign people are

attracted by this big old country. They come here and want to know about the

traditional culture. However, Chinese young people dont show much interest in

the old culture, instead they chase the fashion and some even abandon the

precious culture. For example, paper cutting, one of the excellent arts that is

inherited by our ancestors. Many foreign media speak highly of this great

handicraft and they are astonished by the wisdom of Chinese people. I have seen

this art when I stay in my hometown. Only few old people can do it. They just

take it for killing time. Paper cutting is like the old fashion and is forgotten

by the young generation. The media should report more positive information about

the traditional culture to inspire the young people to learn.
