there is only so much land on the earth, and so what we can do with it is limited. some people believe that human needs for farmland, housing and industry should come first, while others believe that some land should be set aside for endangered animals. i am of the opinion that we should reserve some land for the worlds animals for the following reasons.

For over a year， Flash had been tied to a tree in front of someone‘s house. “He was sick and malnourished，” says Allen. “More than once I saw [the owner] kick him for no reason at all.” Allen had repeatedly tried to get the owner to take better care of the animal， or to give it away to someone who would. Finally， he took matters into his own hands – in the dead of night， he took Flash off his chain and drove away with him.

Within an hour， Flash had a new license tag and was being treated by a veterinarian who knew better than to ask questions. Pictures of the dog were put up on animal rescue websites， asking for someone to adopt the dog. A couple in New York offered to take the dog， and animal lovers in states along the way agreed to provide transportation.

Nobody can say for sure how many animals like Flash are ‘rescued‘ every year – receiving stolen property is a crime， so rescuers tend to stay in the shadows. But a growing number of empty collars attests to their work as more and more animals find their way to loving homes.

There is no denying the fact that keeping pets is a hotly debated topic today. Some people claim that keeping pets is a good thing to do. They believe that pets, like cats and dogs, can help relieve the loneliness suffered by senior citizens and other social members who are confined to their homes for this reason or that. They also argue that keeping pets helps mankind understand animals world and develop positive feelings toward them.

我最喜欢的动物是狗，因为我小时候养过一条小狗，它带给了我很多快乐！

小狗的名字叫美多多，取这个名字是因为它长得很美。它有一双又大又黑的眼睛，一身黑色的绒毛，一对像麻花辫似的耳朵，还有一颗像毛线球的尾巴。我伤心的时候就喜欢抱着它，摸摸它。它乖乖的躺在我怀里看着我，仿佛在说：“小主人，你怎么了？不要难过了。”我觉得美多好像知道我心里想什么。我每次从幼儿园回到家，它不管在干什么，一看到我下车，立马跑过来扑到我身上，蹭啊蹭，我一天的疲劳瞬间不见了。美多也会害怕，当我们不在家时，它就会叫个不停，好像在说：”主人快回来，我好害怕呀！”当然它也有不乖的时候，就是随地小便。而且它知道自己做错了事，会找个地方躲起来，你怎么叫他也不发出声音，它是不是很调皮聪明呀！

虽然美多已经被送人了，但我永远都会记得它。

我家鱼缸里养着三条小金鱼，其中一条特别惹人喜爱。它的眼睛鼓鼓的，像一对大灯泡。嘴巴小小的，一张嘴就吐出一连串的小水泡，像小朋友吹泡泡糖一样。我给它取名“水泡眼”三条金鱼经常在一起玩捉迷藏的游戏。“水泡眼”先停留在一个地方动也不动，等另外两条小金鱼躲好后转身去找，可那两条小金鱼太狡猾了，神不知鬼不觉地跟在“水泡眼”的后面。害得“水泡眼”半天也找不到。过了一会儿，它一转头，才发现另外两条小金鱼。我家养的小金鱼真有趣!

我最喜欢的动物是长颈鹿。它是生活在草原上的，以植物为食。

它的脖子很长，长度占了身高的一半还要多，这是因为它尤其爱吃树叶，但由于自然条件的变化，摹上的树林越来越少。长颈鹿为了吃到长在高树枝上的树叶，就尽量地伸长脖子，肚子长的要比肚子短的吃的饱一些。经过千百万年一代代的进化，脖子短的逐渐被淘汰，百幸存焉的鹿的脖子就越来越长了。

长颈鹿的尾巴很短，四肢很发达，当凶猛的野兽抓捕它的时候，它可以跑得很快。它奔跑的速度可以达到每小时五十千米，比普通汽车还快，一般的动物很多容易追上它。但由于长颈鹿身躯庞大，耐力有限，不能长途奔驰，而且鹿群中还有年老体弱者，因此在一些天敌的穷追之下，还是有不幸葬身于狮子之口的。

长颈鹿是我最喜欢的动物，我每次去动物园都要去看一看长颈鹿。

记得有一次我和爸爸妈妈一块儿去上海动物园玩，因为我太喜欢候子了，所以第一个去玩的地方就是猴山。看到这么多的猴子，我也高兴得直蹦。我想耍耍它们，于是就采了片叶子，放在笼子旁边晃来晃去，没想到一只猴子看见了，飞快地从猴山上冲下来，猛地一下就把我手中的树叶抢走了。我没料到它的动作会这么快，把毫无防备的我吓了一跳。没等我反应过来，它已经把叶子放在嘴里大嚼起来了。不过没嚼两下，都吐了出来，好像在说：“难吃，真难吃。”还对着我做了个鬼脸，我们顿时被它那滑稽有趣的样子逗得哈哈大笑起来。

我喜欢很多动物，有可爱的考拉，笨重傻傻的熊猫。而我最喜欢的动物还是一只小狗。他可以帮我们做事情。例如，警犬可以帮助警察捉坏人、还能嗅出藏在货物中的xx和xx。还有搜救犬……

我家的狗狗名叫money，他是一只串串狗，他长得一身黄色和白色相间的毛，非常的可爱。他住在我们家的三楼。他很聪明，每天我去看他时，当我上到一半的楼梯上时，他已经探出了可爱的头。我上到楼顶（三楼），把食物在他看不见的时候扔出去，他会靠着嗅觉找到了狗粮。狗也很通人性。它们可以感受到人的感情。如果我高兴的上去，他就会跟我玩。如果我不高兴时，他就会舔舔我的腿，让我瞬间觉得高兴。

每只狗都有自己的特点。这只狗拿东西上来给他吃时，他就会不停的拜我。好像在说：“快点给我吃呀！”他的嗅觉也非常的灵敏。他曾经给我们抓了一只老鼠。在夏天的晚上，他在天台了走来走去，好像在侦查什么。有陌生的人上来，他便会“旺旺！”直叫。我便会过来瞧瞧，是谁来了。

这就是我的狗。一只串串狗，一只可爱的小狗。它就是我最忠实的朋友。

I have a parrot. Its my favorite animal. Its name is Gaga because it always makes sounds like that. We picked it up in the parking lot six years ago. We released a revelation but had no one to claim. It doesnt change a lot but its color becomes more and more beautiful. We say that its a handsome boy. It can imitate some simple words and phrases, like hello or greet to my grandmother. My grandmother often talks to it or plays music for it. We think that its some kind of clever, because it always makes sounds when its boring or hungry. It adds a lot of fun to our lives.

我有一只鹦鹉，它是我最喜欢的动物。它的名字叫嘎嘎，因为它总是发出这样的声音。六年前我们在停车场捡到它。我们发了启示，但是没有人认领。它没有多大的变化，但是它的颜色变得越来越漂亮了。我们说它是一个帅小伙。它可以模仿一些简单的词和词组，比如你好，或者像奶奶问好之类的。我奶奶经常和它聊天或者放音乐给它听。我们觉得它又点聪明，因为它无聊或是饿了的时候总是会发出声音。它给我们的生活增添了许多乐趣。

我家养过五十只小龙虾，它们非常帅气厉害，霸气侧漏。

它们是在放假的时候我和一个朋友去三级桥捉的，小龙虾身披红黑大铠甲，坚固而又有力的大钳子，六只跑得很快的小短腿，凑成了帅气厉害的小龙虾。

其中，有一只小龙虾我特别喜爱，它的铠甲和别的小龙虾不同，它的铠甲是全黑的，我就一直叫它：“黑将军”。它比较喜欢打架。它和别的龙虾的特点也不同，别的龙虾喜欢站到一个地方一动不动的，只有“黑将军”在周围乱跑。

“黑将军”很勇敢，它比较喜欢挑战一些其他龙虾做不到的事情。比如，从高处往下跳，它的铠甲比别的龙虾的要厚一些，所以，它摔下来估计不咋疼，它还喜欢打架，它打死了八只龙虾，我都没有生气，因为他是那么帅气厉害。

几天后，妈妈说：“把小龙虾吃了吧，反正也活不了几天了。”我说：“好吧！但是，‘黑将军’必须留下。”一会儿龙虾做好了，我们吃地很香，“黑将军”看到我正在吃小龙虾，它似乎伤心极了，不一会它也站到那不动了。

我好怀念我的小龙虾，“黑将军”死了。让我难过了好几天，至今都忘不了它那无助的眼神，让我再一次意识到不能随便去杀死小动物。
