我爸爸有一双骇人的大眼，还有黑压压杂乱的浓眉压在眼皮上。每当他想传授给我什么的时候，他就会突然猝不及防地靠近，提高音量，舞动他的浓眉，圆睁着眼睛。提醒我，我已经进入了他的怒气领域和力气范围。当然，技术上，我爸从未正式打过我，但是他发明了一种恶作剧的施暴方法，就是高高扬起他的巴掌，低头瞪着我，做出要掌掴的姿势，刹那间蒲扇式的手掌扇下来，结果只是和自己的另一只手掌拍击，在我耳边制造出巨大的声响来。我吓得一抖，我爸大笑不已。这个拙劣的把戏一直贯穿我的婴儿和幼儿阶段，然而我却从未真正意义上破解和免疫。每当高高的巴掌的阴影落在我身上，我还是会瑟缩，还是会发抖。这种恐惧建立在不确定性上——不知道什么时候父亲的大赦会失效。然而，当父亲老去的那一天，他的强大崩塌，他的威胁也将解除。在台湾作家张大春的《聆听父亲》里，他讲了一段他为父亲洗澡的故事。张大春第一次见到父亲的身体就是在球场的浴室里，“那是一具你知道再怎么你也比不上的身体。大，什么都大的一个身体。吧嗒吧嗒打肥皂，哗啦啦冲水，呼啊呼啊吆喝着的身体。”——卡夫卡也写过，当他小时候和父亲一起洗澡，他自惭形秽地不敢走出浴室。张大春再给父亲洗澡，已经是父亲意外摔倒，脊椎神经受伤之后，那时父亲只能躺在病床，“连洗个澡都要求人。”当我用蓬蓬头冲击他那发出阵阵酸气的身体，他总是说：“老天爷罚我。”“老天爷为什么罚你?”“它就是罚我。”在那一刻，一个句子朝我冲撞过来：“这老人垮了。”那年，我爸送我来北京上大学。我发现我们的交谈时时都具有冷场的危险性。我问他：“北京怎么样?”我爸说：“北京好大哇。”我又问：“学校怎么样?”我爸说：“大学好大哇。”“好大”，成为爸爸对一切他所不熟悉的事情的形容词。在谈话无法继续的冷场中，我又惊又急地意识到：外物都大了，父亲自然就小了。母亲是一寸寸变老的，父亲是瞬间变老的。我们斗争了整个童年的敌人，自己缴了械。孩子的生命被父亲惩罚，父亲的生命被岁月惩罚。都是输家，那就干脆就惺惺相惜，一笑泯恩仇吧。

一个又一个的看夏秋冬从我们的身边悄悄溜走，转眼间，您陪伴了我十八年，自从有了记忆之后，您的严厉与疼爱交织在我的生命中。

我们两个都不是善于表达感情的人，所以大部分时间的我都偏向于去黏妈妈，所以有时的我们甚至零交流。对此，我很抱歉，有的时候我会忽视您的感受，同样，我也羞于与您交心谈感情。

但，幸好，您是我父亲，我们的关系不会变僵，我们依然会开心地交谈着最近的生活。您对我也是很疼爱的，当想买一件衣服，一些零食时，妈妈则会让我明白，有用的可以买的道理，而您则会说服妈妈去满足我无理的要求。

但那种疼爱也不是毫无根据的溺爱，在学习与处事做人上，您对我还是很严厉的，但我并没有达到您的期望，成绩也一次次的下滑。但，请您相信，我会努力改变现状，不让您再上火，不再让你和妈妈觉得以后的生活指望不上我。我也不会再伤你们的心，我会努力的。

因为我和姐姐您操了很多的心，再加上日复一日的辛劳，您的身体日渐消瘦，早已没有当年的挺拔与健硕了，您的背也屈服于时光后变弯，脸也不再光滑了，疾病也常年缠绕着您，每次看您吃各种药时，心里便有一阵的绞痛，想，这还是当年我甜甜地叫您回家，您健步如飞，我和姐姐永远想要去依靠的男人吗？

我不敢去想，以后的您会是什么样子。

我知道您年轻时有很多遗憾，到现在也没有机会去弥补，爸，请您最后相信我一次，今后的我，将不会再是那个只会惹您生气的，成天回家只会捧着手机，什么都不做的我了，我会好好学习，尽自己一切努力去治好您的病，让您身体健康。

爸，请您一定要保重身体去看我的改变，我想和您走很长的路，想跟您幸福地度过接下来的每一天。

爸，请您慢些变老，请您等等您那想要弥补的女儿。

Ive been happily drifting for a lot of years, Dad, and I didnt see you getting older.

I suppose I saw us and our relationship as aging together, rather like a fine wine. Numbers never seemed important. But the oddest thing happened last week. I was at a stop sign and I watched as you turned the corner in your car. It didnt immediately occur to me that it was you because the man driving looked so elderly and fragile behind the wheel of that huge car. It was rather like a slap in the face delivered from out of nowhere. Perhaps I saw your age for the first time that day. Or maybe I saw my own.

Somewhere along the line, the generation gap evaporated. Age separates us now and little else. We agree on most everything, perhaps because weve learned there isnt much worth disagreeing about. However, I would like to mention that fly fishing isnt all youve cracked it up to be, Dad. You can say what you want about wrist action and stance and blah, blah, blah...

我的父亲才40多岁，可他说自已快老了。

记得那是快开学的时候，家里本来就十分困难，父亲还是硬要我去上学。我知道，父亲是个文盲，他怕我将来跟他一样。为了挣到足够的钱让我报名，父亲和几个大人去离河边不远的小坡上抬石头卖给船主。他们洪亮的号子震动着我的心，我知道那号子虽说洪亮，却也有苦涩。那天，在树荫下，我看着他们干活。突然，父亲晃了几下，脚下一滑，重重地坐在斜坡上，哗的一声，父亲还没来得及站起来，就坐着从斜坡上滑了下去，身后的小石头也纷纷向下蹦，一片烟尘。滑了约七八米，终于在一块大石头前停下，身后蹦来的石头撞在父亲的背上、膀子上。人们见了，一个个张开大嘴哈哈大笑起来，父亲站起来，拍拍身上的灰，也嘿嘿地笑起来，笑得像哭，笑得我心里一阵接一阵地疼……

几天后，我从父亲手里拿走了所有的钱，只报了名，还欠着钱……

一天中午我放学回家，门半掩着，屋子里有些暗，父亲独自一人靠在火坑旁的椅子上，睡着了。火坑里一点火星儿也没有，我从灶门前拿来一把柴，点燃放在火坑里，干柴越燃越旺，暗暗的小屋顿时亮了。

火光映红了父亲的脸。这就是我的父亲？！黄得发黑的脸，就像一块没了水分的树皮；高高的颧骨，下巴显得有些尖，两眼陷进了眼眶。一身皱皱巴巴的衣服沾满了黑泥巴、灰土，光着脚拖着一双没有鞋带的破球鞋。他还没有醒，睡着了的脸上没有笑容，大概累了吧。

望着眼前的父亲，我心里酸得发疼，不禁又想起那难以让我忘记的情景来……

火很旺，大概把父亲的腿烤疼了，他微微颤了几下，慢慢地睁开了两只浑浊的眼睛，长长地打了个哈欠，他摸了摸口袋，从里面摸出一个瘪了的烟盒子，扔在火里，摸模另几个口袋，什么也没有，便无精打采地坐在那里，皱着眉，像在思索着什么。

“爸，学校又催钱了。”

“没钱！”声音又重又狠。

“——”

屋外传来了几声喊声，叫父亲去上工，父亲又要到那危险的斜坡上开山石卖。父亲肩上扛着钢钎，手里拿着让人见了就怕的炸药、，走了出去，屁股上的补丁十分显眼，拖着一双破鞋，“拖哒……”渐渐远了。父亲似乎真的老了。真的老了吗？我的父亲！

It was the Eve of the Spring Festival.

Dusk was just falling as I slurped up the last bit of rice and laid down my chopsticks.

“Theyre starting!” cried my friend excitedly. “Quick! Quick!”

Outside, children were running everywhere. Their happy voices and faces made me warm inside, despite the cold wind that greeted me. My friend thrust a bundle of straw in my hands. “Come!” he cried. I giggled as I ran to catch up to him; the childrens excitement was a fever that spread to even the big kids like us.

I soon joined a rowdy bunch of children and teenagers who were building a bonfire in the middle of a path that ran through the wheat fields. “Here,”said my friend, handing me a long bamboo pole. “Put some of your straw in the fire. Then tie the rest onto your pole like this.” He demonstrated with his own materials, and I followed his example. Then he thrust both our torches into the fire and handed me mine. “Now run!”

And run I did----we all did. For miles and miles around, as far as I could see, there were small orange specks scattered about, and I could hear the distant screaming and laughing of other children running up and down the rice field path. For several hours into the night I helped build fires and keep an eye on the younger children. Occasionally I, too, lit a torch and ran around like a mad man, screaming and waving a flaming bamboo pole.

This festival, which occurred six days before Chinese New Year, was just one of the experiences during the visit to my friends over the Spring Festival. As it was explained to me, the purpose behind this festival was to allow the children to have fun burning up all the straw leftover after the harvest. Later, the ash is used for fertilizer.

Thank you very much for your letter written to me. In your letter , you not only expressed your expectation to me , but also showed all your love to me . I was deeply moved .
