hospitable. But I am wondering why some people pay such little attention to the

environment and nature. In many places of the countryside, rivers have become

stinking sewers and brooks have disappeared. Heaps of garbage obstructs the

scarce flow of dirty water. The grounds are littered with plastic bottles and

bags. People are cutting down trees even though it is illegal. In some towns,

rubbish is hidden behind walls. Garbage cans are often of little use, making

cleaners must rush all day long and also by night to clean the rubbish.

The news that Mr Cai had passed away was known, and I fell into great

sorrow. The sound of the rain knocking on the window was so mournful that it

deepened my distress.

My memory brought me back to the class when I saw him for the last

time.

That evening it was raining, too. We started our lesson as usual at a

quarter past six. I sat in the first row, and I saw Mr Cai press his stomach

with a hand from time to time, but I didn’t know the reason then. The two hours

passed quickly. When the lesson came to an end,Mr Cai told us that he had

possibly developed a stomach cancer, and would go to Beijing to see a doctor. If

there was nothing serious, he would continue to teach us after he came back. He

best students.” I think I should work hard at English and live up to his

expectation .

I have lost a good teacher. Tears will dry up in time, but the memory will

stay for ever.

回家以后，我们在家里吃了一顿酸汤火锅。在锅里烧开水后，倒入用西红柿熬成的底料，再根据个人的口味加入配菜。酸汤颜色鲜红，寓意着来年的生活红红火火、热气腾腾。酸汤并不辣，反而酸酸甜甜的，只要一凑近，这酸汤浓郁的香气，就会从锅中倾泻而出，闯到鼻孔中，让人沉醉在这香气中。这酸汤里煮出来的东西，也被这酸汤的酸甜给“渲染”了，在自己的本味中掺杂着酸汤的气味，使得整个酸汤火锅更加开胃可口。

拾柴和酸汤带给了人们许多的好运，所以这项风俗很受人们的欢迎，只可惜今年受新型冠状病毒疫情的影响，人们不便出门，公园也关闭，无法上山拾柴了，我多么希望这场疫情赶快过去，人们可以继续在阳光下的公园中享受美好生活。

Happily, I made progress in the two subjects this semester.  Besides, math and physics is not so hard for me, but I must do many exercises to  improve my knowledge. Half of an hour for each is necessary and I have always  been doing so. The other subjects are easy for me. As long as I carefully listen  to the teacher in the class and do some reviews, I can do well in them. While,  it does not mean that I attach no importance to them.
