I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations.

Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this.

At first I was rather dismayed at the thought of this, but later I thought it was better this way because by working hard this summer I could count on endless happy summers to come. With this in mind I then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. I was not at all bored by this kind of life, for I was sustained by a hope.

How to Learn English Well

English is one of the most important subjects in middle school.

Almost everyone knows that we should learn English well, but few of us know how to learn it well. Karl Marx has set a good example for us. He once said, "When one is learning a foreign language, he must use the foreign language." In this way, he could use several languages. A saying goes, "Practice makes perfect." 现在已经放暑假了，再开学就要升六年级了。为了在六年级的学习上没有什么障碍，我特地制订了一份暑假计划，计划内容如下:

第一，语文方面。我的作文水平一直不太好，主要是因为我的思路不开阔，积累少，所以在暑假里每天都抽出2个小时读名著，总结自己的体会和心得写几篇读后感。按照老师的要求写30篇作文在作文库上发表。我的书写存在着写的字偏小、潦草等问题，在暑假里无论是写作文还是做别的什么作业，我都注意把字写得大一些、工整一些，争取在以后的考试中不丢卷面分。

第二，数学方面。我的数学成绩在班里一直是名列前茅，最大的毛病是经常出现一些小问题。为此，我打算多做一些数学题，并试着做一些奥数题，争取每道数学题都做的快速、准确。

第三，英语方面。我的英语读、写水平还可以，但在听力方面有一些差距，暑假里在学剑桥英语的同时，多听一些英语磁带，多做一些英语听力题，每天早晨拿出半个小时听剑桥英语磁带，争取在英语听力方面有所提高。

第四，课外兴趣。我在美术方面很有天赋，并且很喜爱美术。今年暑假，我还参加美术班培训，巩固提高水粉画水平。我对计算机也是情有独钟，争取争得爸爸妈妈的同意在每天按计划完成学习任务以后能够上网做一些小制作，玩一些小游戏。

星期天下午，我和妈妈去了亳州一个很好看的地方，这个地方就是南湖。南湖有一个非常好看的节目表演，那就是“音乐喷泉”。

下午两点，我们走路去南湖，但是走了很久也没到。我非常渴，但附近没有超市，我们只好继续走。终于，在下午五点多，我们走到了南湖，正好旁边有超市，我们就买了水喝。

到了南湖后，我开始观赏南湖美景，我低下头看了看湖面，发现湖里有好几条小鱼，它们在水中嬉戏、玩耍。突然，我看见有两条小鱼在比赛，看谁游得快。

这两条小鱼就像两台等待比赛开始号令的赛车似的，我说：“开始。”两条小鱼就飞快地向前游，它们在水中，你追我赶，最终它们俩打了个平局。

突然，妈妈把我叫了过来，我说：“妈妈，你为什么叫我?我还没欣赏完南湖美景呢。”妈妈说：“因为音乐喷泉快开始了。”我听到后立马找了一个位置坐了下来。

夜幕降临，音乐喷泉开始了。开始是一个投影仪放出一段视频，接下来就是几根水柱一个接一个的喷出来，这画面就像烟花冲天似的。后来，又喷出像舞蹈者跳舞似的水花，过了好一会儿，这根水柱又变成了正在摇摆的水花，就像水中的彩带。

在这么多的水花中，我最喜欢的是一个像两个小人打架的水花。真的有趣!

结束后，我们恋恋不舍地离开了。

从宁波回到衢山后。爸爸带我到衢山的岛斗中学去看篮球赛，当时人可多了，我和爸爸好不容易才走了进去。

在暑假里最重要的就是看课外书了，我分别看了作文书、童话书、故事书。这些书都对我很重要。

As the time by, I finished my vacation and returned the school. I know it is the time that I should say goodbye to my vacation life and adapt myself to school life. There is no doubt that I enjoy my vacation very much not only because in the vacation I could relax but also I can do what I would like to do keeping away from the pressure of the lesson and examination. 暑假里的一天，阳光明媚，爸爸妈妈领我来到了一个我向往已久的地方——吉林乌喇。

刚到那里，我就被眼前的景色迷住了，这里有满族风情人家、有以前的戏剧台、有小河、有炮楼、有人家……

突然我看到了一个大滑梯，随人群我走了上去，“哧溜”一下我滑了下来，才发现这是一个转轮滑梯，很好玩。于是我又跑到上面，可是人太多了，划得很慢很慢，我玩得一点也不尽兴。
