一告后辈要立志，志之必坚。

二告后辈要“见义而作”，赈灾济贫。

三告后辈要慎言。

五告后辈不要打探他人隐私。他说：“凡人自有公私，慎勿强知人私。”

六告后辈不要受人之馈。他说：“匹帛之馈，车服之赠，肖深绝之”，因为“常人皆薄义而重利”，别人主动向你破财献礼，则必有所求，必图回报，这是“君子之所大恶也”。
