【译文】孔子（在向弟子颜回、子路说起自己的志向时）说：“（我要使）老人活得安逸，朋友们信任我，年轻人怀念我。”

31、子曰：“夫仁者，已欲立而立人，已欲达而达人。”（《论语·雍也》）

【译文】孔子（在回答弟子子贡关于仁的问题时）说：“所谓仁，是说自己站得住，也让别人站得住。自己事事行得通，也让别人事事行得通。”

32、子曰：“默而识之，学而不厌，诲人不倦……”（《论语·述而》）

【译文】孔子说：“（把所见所闻的）默默地记在心里，努力学习而不满足，教导别人而不厌倦……”

33、子曰：“志于道，据于德，依于仁，游于艺。” （《论语·述而》）

【译文】孔子说：“一个人的培养目标在于道，根据在于德，处理人际关系依靠仁，还要游憩于礼、乐、射、御、书、数六艺之中。”

34、子曰：“不愤不启，不悱不发，举一隅不以三隅反，则不复也。” （《论语·述而》）

【译文】孔子说：“（教导弟子时）不到他想求明白而不得的时候，不要急于去开导他；不到他想说出来却又说不出的时候，不要急于去启发他。如果教给他东方，他却不能由此推知西、南、北三方，便不必再教下去了。”

35、子曰：“饭疏食饮水，曲肱而枕之，乐亦在其中矣。不义而富且贵，于我如浮云。”（《论语·述而》）

【译文】孔子说：“（我整天）吃粗粮，喝冷水，弯着胳膊做枕头，也自得其乐。用不正当的手段得来的富贵，我把它看作天上的浮云（不去要，不理采）。”
