Some parents would not love their children if they married someoneof a different religion or from a different ethnic group. Some parents would not love theirchildren if they were of a different sexual orientation. My parents won’t. My parents would loveus regardless of whom we married or whom we chose to love.

Part of unconditional love is trust. My parents trust us to do what is right. They know we wouldnever do anything to hurt them or to disgrace them. They trust us so we trust them. We areconfident that they would never do anything to hurt us.

Because our parents love us, they also respect us. They treat us as individuals. They accept ourdifferences. They do not expect us to be like them. They want us to be our own persons. Theywant us to make our own way in the world, not follow in their footsteps.

Without their love, I would not be as confident as I am. Without their trust, I would not befree to do what I want. Without their respect, I would not feel comfortable being on my own. Allchildren should have such wonderful parents.

Nowadays, with long holidays at hand, traveling has become a new trend for us to relax ourselves outside work. Some people even had made a plan for it a long time before the holiday begins. 父母在与孩子沟通的时候要采取合理的方式，适当时间与地点，应当扮演成一个朋友、知己、聆听者的角色才能与孩子横好的沟通，否则孩子也会只是应付的说几句就完事了。没办法完成与孩子的沟通，没把办法真正了解在自内心的想法！也就没办法提前预防孩子将要发生的错误，大儿子加入“黑帮”只是因为“在我有事的时候他们能在我的身边帮我，你呢？”只能说父母与孩子的代购太深了，父母可能一点也不了解孩子内心的想法。父母作为孩子的第一任老师，父母应尽量营造一个温馨的家庭氛围，多拿出一些时间来陪陪孩子，哪怕是临睡前的几分钟的谈话，一个拥抱，一个吻都会让孩子在睡梦中甜蜜无比！

记得那一次，我很快要期末靠考试了，并且是英语、科学、语文和数学都快要考了，考试的前一个周末功课比平时多，好不容易做了语文、数学和英语的作业时，手都有点酸了。可当我告诉妈妈做了这么多作业时，她却说：“你休息一下，一会儿把科学的那张考卷也做了，早的话再加一点儿做做。”我听后吃惊地说：“今天还要做吗？”妈妈一听，问：“你是不是累了？如果实在太累就去看看电视休息一下吧！明天再做。”其实我并不想看电视，现在也不是看电视的时候，心里一定不怎么放松，因为毕竟就要考试了，还有作业没做。于是对她说：“我还是去做吧！”妈妈可能是以为我生气了，便走过来，对我说：“还是别做了，太累了，对身体不好的。”我对她说了我的想法。妈妈听后对我说：“我看你作业多，怕你来不及，才叫你再做一点的。不过你也别太累要适量休息一下的。要不我们去散散步吧！”于是我和妈妈在小区里逛了一圈，放松一下，回来后我觉得轻松多了。

第二天，等到妈妈出门后我才起床。爸爸说我昨晚太过分了，把妈妈给气哭了。我很内疚，也很后悔，可我始终没有向妈妈道歉。沉默，只要不首先打破沉默，我就仍然保留着珍贵的面子。我和妈妈“冷战”了好几天，最终是不了了之。

我总是埋怨父母，总是有这样那样的想法，总是希望获得理解和宽容。但我却忽略了父母的感受，不知道父母也同样渴望理解和宽容。

读初中的时候，有一次我跟同学打篮球，玩得很尽兴，不知不觉忘记了回家的时间。当我跨进家门时，妈妈焦急地打着电话。她一看到我，便忍不住发起火来：“你看现在几点了，你还知道回家，害我一个个给你同学打电话！”听她这么一说，我反而冒起火来：“什么嘛，不就是晚回了一点吗，我又不是小孩子，用得着一个个给我同学打电话？这让我在同学面前多难堪！”

又是一次胶着的对抗，我和妈妈都受了伤。

可理智终于浇灭了我们的火焰，妈妈主动投诚。她温情地告诉我，她这么做完全是因为担心我。我也乐得握手言和，我语气平和地向她解释晚归的原因。紧绷的神经顿时缓和下来，一场没有硝烟的战争戛然而止，我们俩的“面子”都在这场战争中幸存下来。

从那以后，我更加注重时间观念，妈妈也对我的偶尔晚归表示理解与包容。在不再紧张的气氛里，我发现了沟通的魅力，我爱上了与父母交流。
