腊八粥有十八种材料，主料为糯米、粳米和黑米，配料除赤豆、花生、米仁、红枣、莲子、桂圆六样外，还有豇豆、葡萄干，为了能起到更好的健脾胃的作用，又加了枸杞、山药、茯苓等中药材。浓浓的腊八粥不仅带给人们营养的美味，也把浓浓的传统年味传递到每个人的身边，腊八粥本身就十分好吃，但加上妈妈的精心熬制，吃起来更加香甜美味，赏心悦目。

妈妈从腊月初七的黄昏就开始熬制，锅里放足了水，放上材料，然后开大火开始煮，每过一会儿妈妈就要用勺子在锅里搅拌，防止粥粘在锅底上。水开了之后，就可以调到小火慢慢熬了，大概一个小时左右，香喷喷的腊八粥就熬好了，然后放上冰糖，吃起来香甜美味，味道好极了！

熬这种粥还要有一定的技巧，既要软烂粘稠又要不粘锅，要用时用心的去做。妈妈熬出的腊八粥有一种特别清香的味道，常常是满屋飘香。

“小孩小孩你别馋，过了腊八就是年。腊八粥，喝几天，哩哩啦啦二十三……”每当到了腊八节，我的心情也跟着舒爽起来，嘴里自然而然地哼起这通俗易懂又好听的童谣。

妈妈听了，便神秘地对我说：“你总哼唱腊八粥，想不想亲自动手做一次啊？”“好啊！好啊！”我开心地跳起来。

我和妈妈从网上查到，腊八粥是由红枣、莲子、红豆、花生、黑豆、麦仁、百合、糯米、香米等材料制成。接下来就去购买材料，我和妈妈去了超市，经验不足的我把豆子、花生、香米们各抓了一把放进袋子，妈妈赶紧阻止了我的手，并对我说：“豆子要挑没有虫眼的，米要颗粒饱满的。”我又把那些豆子，花生分类放回去，然后又按妈妈的要求一粒一粒精心挑选。回到家，妈妈先泡好红、绿豆和莲子，然后去淘糯米。红豆和绿豆像是一对好兄妹，一起遨游在海洋里。过了一会后，妈妈叫我把材料洗干净然后放到电饭煲里，再放上清水。我问：“妈妈，不放糖？”妈妈把电饭煲插好，对我说：“先放糖会粘锅，所以等煮好以后再放。”

虽然自己做的腊八粥没有街上买的好吃、好看，但是我觉得这个比街上买的更有意义、更营养、更卫生。喝着自己做的腊八粥，我真实地感受到了浓厚的节日气氛，还有中国传统民俗那迷人的魅力。腊八粥中蕴含着祈求五谷丰登的美好愿望，喝着腊八粥，希望来年一定是个丰收年。
