方法一：叙述法

叙述法发展段落主要是按照事物本身的时间或空间的排列顺序，通过对一些特有过渡连接词的使用，有层次分步骤地表达主题句的一种写作手段。用这种方法展开段落，作者能够清楚连贯地交待事物的本末，从而可以使读者可以清晰、完整地理解文章的含义，例如：，

In the flat opposite, a woman heard the noise outside. When she looked out through the window, she discovered that her neighbor was threatened by someone. She immediately called the police station. In answer to the call, a patrol police car arrived at the scene of the crime quickly. 这段是按照事物发展的先后顺序，叙述从发现案情、报警、到警察赶到、包围现场的过程。全文脉络清晰，叙述的层次感强，结构紧凑。

方法二：列举法

作者运用列举法，是通过列举一系列的论据对topic sentence中摆出的论点进行广泛、全面地陈述或解释，列举的顺序可以按照所列各点内容的相对重要性、时间、空间等进行。，

在许多国人眼里，海尔这个成功企业已经很强大、很了不起了。然而，一位跟踪报道海尔多年的记者却说，在他接触到的诸多企业中，海尔的“忧患意识”是最强的。海尔集团首席执行官张瑞敏时常挂在嘴边的一句话是：“战战兢兢，如履薄冰。”一个16年平均年增长速度达81。6%、年销售收入已突破400亿元、不仅在国内而且在国外都有较高知名度的企业能有这样的意识，很值得我们深思。按照张瑞敏的说法，他们进军中国的战略非常简单：赢家通吃。他们的目标就是不给你留任何一点市场和地盘。毋庸讳言，我们的许多企业，不要说弱势企业，就是像海尔这样的佼佼者，与世界500强相比也还有一段差距，也不敢有丝毫放松和懈怠。实事求是地正视挑战的严峻性，充分估计到竞争对手的力量和困难的一面，向最坏处着想，向最好处努力，这样较为有益，而较少有害。
