Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria, is credited with being responsible for introducing the custom of the Christmas tree to the British public by decorating the first English Christmas tree at Windsor Castle in 1841 using candles, sweets, fruit and gingerbread.

The popularity of the Christmas tree grew in Britain during the first half of the 20th century, with trees becoming bigger and more elaborately decorated with bells, baubles and tinsel. However, the onset of the Second World War resulted in a ban on cutting down trees for decoration and people resorted to having small, artificial tabletop trees bearing home made decorations. Chinese new year is a chinese traditional festival. we also call it the spring festival. it is on lunar january 1st.

on new year’s eve, all the people sit around the desk and have a big family dinner. there are some vegetables, some fish, some meat, some fruits and some drink like juice, coke, pepsi and some nice wine. overall, this is a good and delicious dinner. after dinner, we always watch tv new year progammes. we have a wonderful evening on new year’s eve.

on the first day of the spring festival, most of people get up early and say “happy new year” to each other. for breakfast, people often eat dumplings and baozi. after breakfast, people often make many delicious foods, and children often play cards, computer games and fireworks. on the second and third day, we visit friends and relatives.

everyone is busy on chinese new year, and everyone is happy, too.

两个美丽而又精明干练的主持人——黄希和王充，面对着我们期盼的眼神，她们并不怯场，反而大步流星地踏上讲台，从容不迫地开始了我们——最后一个小学度过的美妙的圣诞节。

第一个游戏是——抢凳子。“土包子”殷果和“小胖”罗宁迫不及待地举起手来。助手小曾曾立刻搬来了一张凳子。音乐响起，女生默默祈祷殷果的胜利，男生亦齐喊：‘罗小胖’加油!殷逗B漏油!只见殷果细心专注地聆听音乐，罗茂宁却大大咧咧地招手呼喊;音乐一下子就停下了，殷果不等罗茂宁反应过来，立马坐了下去。见胜负已分，罗宁气急败坏地朝天，不，应该说，罗宁气急败坏地朝天花板大吼一声，跑到走廊，拼命用脚踢墙“哇啦哇啦”地怪叫着。

第二个游戏是——福尔摩斯就是你。正合我意：杨轲和欧嘉仁十分十分十分不幸地当上了“福尔摩斯”。但是“损人”不“利己”，我竟然被那“优惠卡”曾曾戴上了 “小偷”的罪名!!!气煞我也!!!我必须混淆那两个名不其实的“侦探”思维!我不假思索便举起手来，脱口而出：“我是小偷，我是!”大家听了，纷纷附和：“我是你要抓的小偷!”

“来抓俺!”

“我是小偷”

……

今天是最开心的一天，也是在这里度过的最后一个圣诞。
