my wife, shirley, and i have gone on vacations to a quiet beach in southwestern florida for most of our married life. if that beach could talk, it would tell of teenage newlyweds who sunned and wrote i love you on its sands. it would tell of a little girl with eyes the color of the sea gathering seashells and of three wild boys leaping and diving into the surf. it would tell of joyous visits over the years from friends, parents, grandparents, new brides and grooms-and now grandchildren. the beach would tell glorious tales of warmth and gratitude.

but i realized one day that i had rarely expressed my gratitude to the one whod lived those years with me. on our 40th wedding anniversary, shirley and i walked again the familiar margin of the sea. i told her then how thankful i was that she shared my life.

汽车缓缓驶上桥，盘旋，驶下。

那是不久前的一次回程，公公家刚装修好，于是决定回去看看。

夜晚的道路，一排排路灯仿佛连接着城市的记忆。早已习惯了喧嚣城区的我，记忆像是随车的渐行渐远而愈见清晰。

第二天清早，睁开眼，我好像又重回一个迷失已久的世界。我还认识那些树，还是那缕清晨透过薄雾的微微朦胧的阳光。怀着一种奇妙的心情走在路上，任凭和风划过指尖。

终于到了公公家门口，推开门，却楞和好久。

一切都变了。

这是突如其来的一种感觉，麻痹了大脑，在全身蔓延开来，只剩下眼睛木然地注视这个“新居”。新刷的墙狠心地掩盖了小时候调皮的作品。抛弃了客厅的大青石地板，没有了我钟爱的陀螺竞技场。没有了四方桌，换走了旧木制家具，岁月剥蚀铆印的痕迹都无影无踪。

屋里没有了以前的拥挤，屋内空荡荡的。阳光毫无遮掩地穿过合金窗，照的屋内一片苍白。我在屋内来回踱步，不自觉地轻轻触及雪白的墙，好像去雕刻上以前的丝丝斑纹，区只有如雪一般的寒冷，直抵心底，泛出一股不可名状的酸涩……。

老屋真的不在了！墙把我与老屋的最后一点少得可怜的回忆挡在里面，密不通风，严严实实。这时突然觉得好恨时间，恨他离去的太快，恨他不等我把记忆仔细的片片收集，他就让一切物是人非了。

遗憾的是，抱怨时间是徒劳的。因为人生诠释了所谓流浪的意义：四海为家，随遇而安。我们都是流浪者，心灵上分合的长短妄图在空间距离上的已实现。于是有人远离家乡，逃向远方，但我们并没有因此而宽慰。可惜故居沦落不停重复栉风沐雨归来游子叹息声的cd机。于是有人感叹“未老莫还乡，还乡须断肠”。在重拾阔别已久的记忆是，发现身后堆积的，才是我们遗失的。我们抱怨时间，抱怨他稍纵即逝，抱怨它带走的太多，真的真的，只是徒劳。

The Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year, during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school, and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year, people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs, sheep, cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; couplets are posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

On the eve of the new year, each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock strickes twelve. When I am a childhood， I celebrated the spring festival with my family

about a month in my winter vacation in traditional way， such as helping cleaning

our houses， putting red couplets on gates， setting off firecrackers， and wear

new clothes. Now， I spend only 4 or 5 days at home with my parents in

celebrating the spring festival， then I will hurry back to work. Maybe in the

near future， I will have no time celebrating spring festival hometown， and my

parents have to come to stay with us in the city.

Whether or no， I like the spring festival. It is one of the most important

part of our Chinese culture. However busy I am， I will try my best to

celebrating it with the traditional way to protect those our ancestor has leave

behind.

Speaking of grateful parents, everyone will say parents are raising me, of course to be grateful. First of all, we would like to thank them here let us born in this beautiful world. Tradition says Pilgrim settlers from England celebrated the first

thanksgiving in sixteen twenty-one. There is evidence that settlers in other

parts of America held earlier thanksgiving celebrations. But the Pilgrims

thanksgiving story is the most popular.

The Pilgrims were religious dissidents who fled oppression in England. They

went first to the Netherlands. Then they left that country to establish a colony

in North America. The Pilgrims landed in sixteen twenty in what later became

known as Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Their voyage across the Atlantic Ocean was difficult. Their first months in

America were difficult, too. About one hundred Pilgrims landed just as autumn

was turning to winter. During the cold months that followed, about half of them

died.

感恩节，定在每年11月最后一个星期的`星期四，是一个非常正式的、隆重的宗教仪式。那一天，他们会好好庆祝一下，做一些传统的美食，如烤火鸡，南瓜派，水果塔等等。而在我看来，这是一个好好感激曾有恩于自己的人的节日。

首先我要感谢我的父母，是他们给了我生命，把我抚养成人，没有他们就没有我的一切。难忘妈妈的“唠叨”，尤其是在这异乡求学，更是深深体会到妈妈的无微不至的关怀。怀念妈做的可口的饭菜和家乡的各种小吃。在我的印象中，妈妈是那么的勤劳善良：每天早出晚归，为了这个家而坚强地支撑着；当我撒脾气时，妈总是迁就我，对我的牢骚，妈妈选择的是和言善语。当我有什么不满而跟妈妈大声顶撞时，妈选择的是沉默，让我感到深深的内疚：我宁愿妈妈打我骂我，那样我会好受些。

在很多人的眼中，爸爸都是严厉的，即便他们在心底深深爱着我们，我的爸爸也是如此。他不会像妈那样对我嘘寒问暖的，每次回到家，爸只是用那张双饱经风霜的笑脸和那双严厉中带着。

It was Mother’s Day. Sun Zheng thought he should do something for his

mother. He decided to help his mother do some housework. After school he went to

a shop to buy some food on his way home.

When he got home, he did his best to cook some nice food,though he couldn’t

do the cooking well. Thenhe cleaned the room. He felt very tired, but he was

very happy.

When his father and his mother came back and saw the clean rooms and dishes

which weren’t so nice, they were very happy.They had their supper together. His

mother said, "Thank you,my child!"

每当我看到干净的马路，我就想到辛勤的环卫工人。每当看到无数个病人，我会就想到为病人解除病痛的医生。是谁每天为我煮饭送我去上学养育了我，是我亲爱的.父母。是谁教育了我，是我们敬爱的老师。我想设个感恩节，在这一天里，我们可以对曾经帮助过我们的人说声谢谢，或赠送礼物。

那一天，许多大学生都来看望曾经教过他们的老师，有的送些水果给老师，有的送些花给老师还有些虽然什么也没带，可是他们并没有忘记老师，还送给老师一些祝福的话，让老师感到十分欣慰。我会对我的父母说声谢谢，谢谢您这么多年每天早早起床为我煮饭，而且不管刮风下雨，每天送我上学，是您养育了我，我会用好成绩来报答您。我会对环卫工人说谢谢你们这么年，一直打扫城市的卫生，如果没有你们每天在马路上打扫卫生，那么这个城市将变成垃圾城。我想对医生说谢谢你们这么多年，为我们治病，使我们有了健康的身体。我还要对交警叔叔说声谢谢，感谢您这么多年每天在马路上指挥交通，遇到不认识路的人，告诉他这么走，您是我们可爱可敬的人。

我想有个感恩节，这样，大家就可以去感谢所有帮助过我们的人，在这天里深深感谢他们。有了这个节日社会将变的更加和谐美好。

Thanksgiving is almost entirely celebrated at home, unlike the Fourth of July or Christmas, which are associated with a variety of shared public experiences.
