山上还有一样美味--笋，雨后春笋，长得特别快，没几天就长到几十分米长了，我带着小镰刀，去山上挖笋，爷爷说，哪里的土松了一点，哪里就可能有笋，按照爷爷说的话，我就会挖到许许多多的笋，回家就能吃到一次春笋大餐，想想都觉得谗了。

How time flies! I have studied in my school for three years. And I will

graduate from middle school in a month. I am eager to share my happiness and

Yuandan is the first day of the lunar calendar. It is the day when the earth has circled the sun for one round and is beginning another circling. It represents a new beginning when people send off the old days and welcome the new ones. As the first day of the year, Yuandan has been considered to be the most important festival since the ancient times.

Customs

1. Kaisui(beginning of the year): According to the Chinese traditional custom, starting from haishi(9p.m. to 11p.m.)of the last evening of the twelfth lunar month, each family must prepare offering s to deities at the altar. At the same time, they too prepare food for the New Year day: The whole family will then stay awake together to attend to the year(called shou sui). After haishi, zishi(11p.m. to 1a.m.)will come, and this is the arrival of New Year(Yuandan). At this moment, people begin the celebration with fireworks. Vegetarian and sweet foods will then be placed are the altar for offerings, and incense be burned to welcome the deities. In the ancient times, it was believed that haishi connected the two years and thus was called kaisui.

At the same night, some families will follow the instruction in Tongshu and place preparing altar in the direction of the "fortune deity" during the "fortune time" to receive the deity. If the direction of the "fortune deity" is at the "ill position", people will choose to receive "happy deity" or "noble deity" instead.

2. There is an apparent difference in the custom of food taking on Yuandan between the Chinese in the northern and southern regions. The northern Chinese has the habit of taking jiao zi(dumpling made of flour with vegetable and meat wrapped inside). Some people may put a sweet or a coin inside jiao zi, hoping to have a sweet year after tasting the sweet and a wealthy year after tasting the coin. on the other hand, the southern Chinese have the taboo for killing on Yuandan. Therefore, they do not take meat in tee morning of Yuandan, so as to avoid bloodshed or mutual slaughter. In order to evade misfortune, they have the first meal of this day without meat. Instead, they take vegetarian food for the sake of virtue.

3. What is special during the New Year is that parents or elders will distribute red packets(ang pao or ya sui qian)to the children. People in the ancient times were more particular in giving away the red packets: the distribution took place on the eve of New Year so that the kids could suppress the past year and enter the New Year. Ya sui has the meaning of overcoming the unpredictable future. Representing the wishes for the healthy psychological growth of the children, ya sui qian symbolises the elders hope to see their children overcome all the unpredictable elements brought by the "year".

The next year, I was transferred into the Principal Customer Department, responsible for the Developing and strengthening a good relationship between the principal customers and my company .Two major customers, Henan Provincipal Department of Transportation and Henan Provincial Department of Personnel, are under my work. However,with time going on ,the more I experienced, the clearer I realized that Im really interested in the Enterprise Management .I find many enterprises have the problem of an unmatched management to its

developing speed . Im eager to learn more about management and I hope I can study further in this University. So I resigned in August , 2003 and started the way to pursuing my studies. After about half years hard work, Im finally standing before you honorable professors now. Im really excited . Though Ive sacrificed much on my way to pusuing studies, I believe its worthwhile. I am an English graduate of 2007 in Hunan University of Science and Engineering. Throughout my campus life, I have devoted myself with sincerity and motivation to the learning of English language. I have got strict training and grasped the five basic skills of foreign language quite well. As an English major, I have a good command of English in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation. Being proud of my fluent oral English, I can express myself precisely. I also possess some certain abilities of translation and interpretation. At the same time, I am very interested in computer and can operate Word, PowerPoint, typesetting and Windows System very well.

During my four years college learning, I have got full training of occupational skills. However, I still pay more attention to improve myself in all aspects. When I was in the university, I participated in the English Association of our college (TEE) actively and was elected the president of TEE and Association Minister of Foreign Language Department, well-praised for my hard-working. I think I have got a lot of strength from this experience, such as the ability of communication, expression, and the attitude towards life and work.

Optimism, calmness, diligence and innovation strive to be my characteristics conscientiously. I’d like to apply for post like manager assistant in corporation which relate to my major. 今天,我们学校举行了一次生动、有趣的口语比赛。

吃完加餐，我们就排队进入阶梯教室。首先映入我眼帘的是一道红色的横幅,上面写着“华南碧桂园学校第四届口语比赛”几个大字。 我们按照老师安排的座位坐了下来,等待比赛的开始。

不一会儿,各班的同学、老师也陆续到了,比赛开始了。只见二年级的两位小主持人快步大方地走上台,为大家报幕。你们可别看他们小,说起英语来可流利呢!选手出场了,先是一年级的一位小同学,她虽然年纪小，但说起英语来，也是毫不逊色。她不仅说得流畅，面对评委的提问，回答也是干脆利落。接下来是一个三年级的小女孩,她那流利的英语,使得我们每个人都瞪大了眼睛。她一说完，台下就响起了雷鸣般的掌声。“到我们班的严威同学上场了。”我们一听到这声音就紧张起来，一个个屏息凝视,生怕他一紧张就忘词,但他不负众望,在台上，他平静自信地演讲着,边说还边做动作呢！评委们问他问题时,我们的心像有一只小兔子一样“怦怦”直跳,生怕他答不上来。他却显出一副满不在乎的样子,准确流利地回答完所有问题。演讲完了，他长长地舒了一 口气,从容地走下台。观众席上响起了热烈的掌声。我的心也平静了下来。接下来的选手也都不逊色，一个个过五关斩六将。一个一年级的孟加拉小男孩的演讲更是引人入胜,令人回味无穷。因为当时正属于激情低潮期,所以这个聪明的小男孩故意在我们不注意的时候,把故事中的“啊”向上升了四度,我们一下子热情高涨,个个都全神贯注地听着。不知不觉又到我们班的Yura同学演讲了,他可是名副其实的外国人,说起英语是流利得不知怎么形容,根本不存在结巴。但他还是有点紧张,双手直搓,但我们可不紧张,因为他是外国人嘛!演讲终于完毕了, 在等待比赛结果的时间里，小主持人还带领我们玩游戏、唱歌（本作文来自于）。最激动人心的时刻到了，这时我们的英语老师走上台,我的心一下子又紧张起来,当老师说到我们班的Yura、严威分别获得一二等奖时,我们开心极了,都使劲地鼓掌，向他们表示祝贺。

这次口语比赛，真是既使人紧张，又让人开心,而且让我们学到不少知识。
