But although Catherine loves him, even recognizes him as her soulmate, she cannot lower herself to marry so far below her social station. She instead marries another, and in so doing sets in motion an obsession that will destroy them all.

《平凡的世界》的作者， 就是路遥。他1949年12月3日出生于陕西省陕北山区一个贫困的农民家庭。这一出身背景为路遥日后创作《平凡的世界》奠定了坚实的基础。《平凡的世界》 的扉页上写着这样一—句话 ：“谨以此书 ，献给我生活过的土地和岁月。”贫穷，贯穿了路遥的一生。即便如此，路遥也拥有着文学创作的理想。在艰难的处境下，先后完1991年，路遥在生命的最后一段时间里， 完成了百万字的长篇巨著一《平凡的世界》 。凭借着这部小说，路遥获得了茅盾文学奖。

读过不少的小说，也有一些情节特别引人入胜读读不愿放下的，却没有一本像当代著名作家路遥的绝笔之作——《平凡的世界》那么深入我心的。看其中一个平凡世界中平凡的人物，就如他们正生活在我们身边。

《平凡的世界》这部小说我读了不知有多少遍，每一次捧起都会令我一种热血冲顶的感觉，令心灵受到强烈的震撼，久久不能平静，在这部被誉为“第一部全景式描写中国当代城乡生活的长篇小说”的巨著中，作者围绕着主人令孙少安与孙少平兄弟俩在这个平凡的世界中不断超越自身的局限，最终获得事业和生活上的成功，谱写了一曲充满活力的生命之歌，向人们揭示着人生的自强与自信、奋斗与拼搏。挫折与追求、痛苦与欢乐，并以一幕幕催人泪下的人生苦难所展现的人物的顽强坚韧的信念告诉人们：苦难与挫折只是个躯壳，真正广阔的生活意义在于我们对生活理想所持的生生不息的虔诚与热情中所体现的坚强的信念——“相信自己能飞!”

从孙少平，到孙少安;以及田晓霞，田润叶;少平的师傅及师娘，少安的山西老婆等。还有那个山村里面所有的人际关系，世故的，淳朴的，农村特有的风情和地域色彩。里面包容了路遥太多的写作功底和技巧，他对农村的热爱，对中华民族传统美德的赞扬，都在作品中得到了良好的显现。他崇尚艰苦奋斗，坚信承受苦难是成功的必然，他不忘歌颂中国农民那一颗质朴的心，敢于拼搏，敢于吃苦的精神，不忽视属于农民的那种特有的爱情表达方式，以及由于文化差距而引起内在素养不同而造成的爱情悲剧。

中国是一个农业大国，中国的世界就是农民的世界。而路遥，用敏锐的眼光注意到了这点，取材于中国西北部黄土高坡一个普通的农村，然后，在农村与城镇之间的冲突与矛盾中展开整个故事情节。用这样一个具有代表性的小小世界折射了整个中国，整个人类的平凡的世界。

小说中对于人物的刻画极其独到，注意人物的现实性。比如，孙少安，是个耿直、质朴的农村男子，他善良，能吃苦，有责任心，同时血气方刚，真心地爱着润叶。但是却因为他出身卑微，而润叶却受过高等教育，所以，他在润叶面前表现出退缩，爱，却没有勇气，爱，却自卑。这样的心理矛盾，路遥刻画得细致入微，尤其逼真。同样，也很符合现实状况及现实心理。他，最终错过了润叶。但是，同样因为他的小农意识的局限，他娶了山西姑娘之后，生活便替代了爱情，一切平淡了，生活便是真实的生活了。

贫苦的冉阿让抚养着姐姐与她的孩子，生活所迫，冉阿让去面包店偷了一个面包，却被抓住了，判了整整五年刑，他惦记着自己的家人，不停越狱，得来的`结果确是加判十四年。社会的无情与监狱的冷酷使他被仇恨蒙蔽了双眼。出狱后，他在莫里哀主教的尽力感化下，冉阿让发誓要成为善人。在他的努力下，他成为了大好人“马德兰市长”，为穷人出了很大的力，可世事难料，他被昔日的囚友认了出来。他被剥夺市长的权利，又被关进了监狱。他为了实现自己的诺言：抚养那位饱经风霜妇女的孩子珂赛特，居然从监狱逃了出来，与珂赛特过着平静的生活。可平静没多久，离家出走的贵族马吕斯爱上了美丽的珂赛特，而珂赛特也爱上了马吕斯。在国民自卫军的反抗中，马吕斯受了重伤，所幸被冉阿让救下。可不明是非的马吕斯知道了冉阿让的身份——苦刑犯后，居然将他拒之门外。在知道冉阿让便是他的救命恩人时，马吕斯与珂赛特赶忙来到冉阿让身边，可冉阿让却永远闭上了双眼……

粗略一看，冉阿让的一生备受挫折，他的经历又是如此悲怆，让人不禁感叹当时封建社会的无情。可一细看，他的一生确实是为“成为好人”而努力着，他做过好人，他的死便是有意义的。不仅是他，警长沙威虽离开了这个世界，却怀抱着良心;妇女芳汀虽离开了这个世界，却怀抱着希望;爱着马吕斯的爱波那虽离开了这个世界，却怀抱着爱情。能有意义地离开这个世界，便是无憾了。

正当我在为故事中一个个人的死去而悲叹时，却看到了这样一行字眼：本小说由真实故事改编而成。我震惊了，这居然是雨果那个时代真实发生的!转念一想，又仿佛明白了雨果老先生的遗言，他是在用身体，来让人道主义更发扬光大!

然而，在所谓已实现人道主义的今天，一些举手之劳在如今社会各种不公平待遇下似乎不值一提，可正是这些举手之劳，如黑暗中的点点星光，给了所有人希望——世界能变得更好的希望。

只要你相信，悲惨世界并不悲惨。

《平凡的世界》中的爱情，对于无关风月的我实在没有大多感悟。直到今晚抓紧时间刷完孙田二人的感情线后，竟发现自己对爱情的认识有了极大转变：

常说完美的爱情故事都以“画上圆满的句号结尾，但路遥的这部作品，皇甫同学用了一个生动的比喻一一画上一个省略号，我最初并不满意这个结局，但真正读到孙少平不甘心田晓霞的牺牲，一如既往地在约定地点“见面时，真有一些感动。某种意义上，这未必不是完美结局。若林黛玉葬花之辞：“若未锦囊收艳骨，一抷净土掩风流。作者也不想这段理想的情感沾凡尘之事。从始至终，两人的情感就是纯粹的爱情。

其实孙田二人的结局可以说是最有味道的：纵观全书，所有人的爱情都因现实不圆满。把孙氏兄弟的感情线相比。简直是一组鲜明的对照：男女双方差距相同，但收获了不同的结果。我的眼中，爱情也有三个层次：付出，负责，改变。少安与润叶属于第二层，少平与晓霞却已达到改变一层，跨越地位，学历，家境，两人不断改变着自己，甚至达到“生者可死，死者可生”的“情之至”可惜，少安若可为润叶过上圆满的生活去寻一条可能更艰难的，却可成全二人的路也好。

现在我们的学习条件是多么好，有着一双明亮的眼睛，有着一双灵敏地耳朵，有着宽敞明亮的教室，有着很好的老师，可是总是有一些人不珍惜，浪费每一天。
