This years summer vacation was most enjoyable. I spent fifteen days helping my grandparents doing farm work in the countryside， where I saw mountains fields covered with green plants. Sometimes I went swimming in the river to the west of the village， the water in which was quite clear.

I kept a diary every day. Besides doing farm work， I help the children in the neighborhood with their lessons. All of them showed interest in English. They could read write wellthey could hardly understand simple English. So every day in the morning I spent about two hours helping them improve their listening spoken English. Today was a day for music, because we had the preliminary contest in the morning and we would have the final contest in the evening.

After the preliminary contest, we thought that only one program could go on next at first. It mad Vanessa sad. This result gave us a big surprise. The longing summer vacation is approaching, it is the best part of the

school year for me. I cannot let the holidays elapse (逝去) meaninglessly, my

vacation should be a phase (时期、阶段) of harvest. The events in my plan should give

We may obtain knowledge by reading. The more books we read, the more we accumulate the knowledge. Is it right? I dont think so. Its not wide reading but useful reading that leads to excellence.
