White pollution persists

WEVE been hearing and talking about it for a fairly long time： curbing what has become known as “white" pollution. But still we are using the white polystyrene （PS） foam food containers and other disposable plastic products， which largely make up this form of littering.

Miandianwang， a well-known local fast-food chain， is still handing out takeout food in these PS foam containers， even though they should been phased out before December 31， 2000， under a Central Government decree. One of the waiters said in its outlet on Hongli Road on Monday that they are going to switch to environmentally friendly containers “some time in the future".

However， the Miandianwang outlet in Sams Club， which is affiliated with Wal-Mart， is offering take-out food in light brown containers which are biodegradable. Liang， a clerk with Sams Club， told Shenzhen Daily yesterday that the club required the Miandianwang outlet to do so in its contract.

According to Liang， all the departments in the club switched to biodegradable containers during the Spring Festival holiday.

Zhao Hua， with the energy division of the Shenzhen Municipal Economic Development Bureau， one of the five municipal government departments involved in the curbing of white pollution in the city， said on Monday that large companies and retailers like Wal-Mart and Vanguard have responded to the decree by switching to biodegradable containers. But she admitted that is just the tip of the iceberg in the seemingly endless war on white pollution in the city.

Zhaos bureau has met with four other relevant departments on several occasions. What they produced is not a feasible solution but an echo or rewording of the Central Government decree， according to Luo Wei from Shenzhen Municipal Legal Affairs Bureau， who is responsible for reviewing this “echo". The ”echo" has now been passed on to the municipal government which is expected to announce it formally in the near future. But Luo said shes not sure if this rewording can play a significant role in eliminating white pollution in the city. “We dont lack laws， regulations or decrees. The real concern is the effective enforcement of these laws or regulations，" said Luo.

Zhao Hua admitted that cities like Shanghai and other coastal cities which are sensitive about their image as tourist destinations are doing a better job in this regard. “Shanghai is said to have produced a very detailed handbook on how to carry out the curbing work and Hainan has even banned disposable foam slippers in hotels，" Zhao said.

就拿我们学校来说吧，学校里有些学生经常乱扔果皮、纸屑，不仅影响了环境，更糟糕的是别人一不小心踩到了，就有可能滑倒;在班里，有些同学的椅子上还有些瓜子壳、铅笔屑。还有爱吃糖的同学经常往地上吐泡泡糖，别人要是踩上，粘在脚底下取不掉多伤情绪啊。还有些调皮的同学，用蜡笔在门上和墙壁上乱写乱画，破坏了教室的清洁。

今天，我正在里院子和娇娇、苗苗玩吊床，突然，一阵冷风扑面而来，把我们三个冻得直哆嗦，回头一看，一棵新载的小树苗被风给吹歪了，我跑过去一看，小树苗幸亏没死，这时候苗苗和娇娇过来了，苗苗拽着我的手说：“赶紧玩吊床吧!”娇娇说：“人家正在把小树苗扶起来。”苗苗拽着我的手把我拉到吊床上，娇娇往小树苗这面拽。我就说：“我把小树苗扶起来在玩吊床吧”，大家都同意了。于是我们把小树苗重新栽了起来。

First time to take a plane

During the summer holidays, I visit to Shanghai with my parents. We took a

plane there. It was my first time to take a plane. I was excited but nerves. I

was excited because I never took a plane before and I was looking forward to it.

Flying in the high sky is really cool. I was nerves because some people said

that it would be dizzy when the plane takes off and lands. However, the whole

journey on the plane was so great. It was a happy experience.

Everyone has their own dreams, I am the same. But my dream is not a lawyer,

not a doctor, not actors, not even an industry. Perhaps my dream big people will

find it ridiculous, but this has been my pursuit! My dream is to want to have a

folk life! I want it to become a beautiful painting, it is not only sharp

colors, but also the colors are bleak, I do not rule out the painting is part of

to make money. And we have more communication with other places, which is a good

way to develop ourselves. About two years latter, the railway was built. After

that, there have been more and more changes happened in my hometown. Now, my

hometown has developed into a big and rich town. People live a happy life.

As you know, if we dont protect the environment, all kinds of resources on the earth will slowly dry up; If you dont protect the environment, people will face destruction; If you dont protect the environment, is not only the human, the earth will gradually end! We live in this earth is so beautiful, so lovely, and so easily broken. We often can see some of this lens: a walk tall whams law enforcement officers, "pei" phlegmy spit on the ground of the clean; A middle-aged man smoking a cigarette, go soon threw the havent put out the cigarette butts on the ground. 大家都知道，如果我们不保护环境，地球上的各种资源都会慢慢枯竭;如果不保护环境，人们就会面临灭亡;如果不保护环境，不仅是人类，地球也会逐渐走向灭亡!我们生活的这个地球是那么美丽、那么可爱，同时又是那么容易破碎。我们经常就可以看到一些这样的镜头：一位高大威猛的执法人员走着走着，“呸”的一声把一口痰吐在了干净的地面上;一位中年男子抽着烟，走了一会儿就把还没熄灭的烟头扔在了地上。我曾经看见过这样一幅画面：一位父亲拉着正喝着酸奶的儿子急匆匆地走，儿子问父亲，瓶子扔哪儿?父亲说随便扔。儿子又说，老师说‘不能随便扔东西!’父亲不耐烦地说，哎呀，特殊情况特殊对待嘛!说着，就把瓶子随手扔在了路边。人们往往乱扔东西时，垃圾箱就在不足十步的地方，他们就不愿多走几步，把不要的东西扔进垃圾桶里。如果每个人都扔一个垃圾，地球就会变成垃圾的海洋。

还有一个镜头，一个母亲给孩子买了一个冰棍，把撕下的纸顺手就扔在了一边。这个孩子看到后，捡了起来，准备扔进不远的垃圾桶，可就在这时，那位母亲赶紧走了上来，拍掉了孩子手上的纸，说：“快扔掉，脏!”同样是地球公民，为什么却有如此之大的反差!如果每个人都捡起身边的垃圾，那么我们的地球将会变得多么漂亮，干净啊!难道那些破坏环境的人要等到环境在他们的破坏下“不堪入目”才回过头来再继续保护环境吗?

同学们，让我们行动起来吧，捡起脚边的垃圾，扔进不远的垃圾桶，让我们的地球母亲重现以前的光彩吧!让我们共同创造一个洁净的家园
