Last summer, my family and I went to Hawaii for a holiday!

We flew across the Pacific to the tiny island from Beijing. After we booked

into a hotel, we rested. Our fun started the next day and lasted for two long

weeks. During our time there, we ate delicious exotic food and drank numerous

fruit juices. The Hawaiians are very proud of their unique food, often spiced

up with slices of juicy pineapple and strings of delicious cheese. There were

I often go to see my grandma and grandpa during my summer vacation.They are both seventy years old and live in the country happily. Summer view of the countryside is very beautiful. I can do many interesting things there. I am used to getting up early in the morning breathing the fresh airlistening to the birds singing and enjoying the green trees red flowers and the river. 5月28日，星期六的早上，是个阳光明媚的好天气，由杭州市文明办，杭州市体育局。中国平安人寿浙江分

公司共同举办的“健康生活。平安相伴”大型公益健跑活动在美丽的钱江新城——江干区体育馆隆重举行。

精彩的开幕仪式开始了：首先，主持人一一介绍了参加本次活动的到场嘉宾：杭州市市政府副秘书长张连水，杭州市市体育局局长赵荣福及中国平安人寿浙江分公司总经理崔龚英等领导人及众多的低碳环保人士都参加了本次活动。

据介绍此次活动有将近3000人左右参加。之后，杭州市政府副秘书长张连水、杭州市体育局局长赵荣福、杭州市文明办副主任史玉芳和中国平安人寿浙江分公司总经理崔龚英等领导做了精彩的讲话，并喊出了此次活动的口号：低碳生活，健康生活，用实际行动，让杭州更加美丽，为杭州美丽动起来。

在此次活动中，我们小记者采访了杭州市市体育局局长赵荣福，“请问杭州市在倡导文明出行低碳环保方面有哪些举措呢?请问你有哪些自已的低碳生活方式和健康宣言呢?”等等问题。

赵局长做了精彩的回答：小学生要从小树立意识，从自已的一点一滴，节约资源，劝导大家多走路，少开车，快乐过好每一天，我为人人，人人为我，以自已的实际行动来鼓励别人低碳出行，绿色出行。

The area of desert in the world is growing every year. Many parts of the world which once had large populations and produced plenty of crops, have become deserts. Dunhuang in China, deep in the heart of the Gebi Desert, was once a great city.

Cattle are one cause of the problem. In good years, famers increase the numbers of their cattle. Then one year, the rains fail to come. The farmers do not want to kill any of their cattle, so the cattle eat ail the grass and anything that grows on poorer land. If this continues for several years, the grass never grows again and the land becomes a desert. One suggested answer is for farmers to limit the numbers of their cattle.

Another problem is that good soil is gradually lost. When trees are cut down, there is nothing to hold the soil in place on the hillside. So when if rains, the soil is washed down the hills and into the rivers. Strong winds can also blow away the valuable soil that lies on the top of the fields.

Great changes have taken place in peoples life in the past 20 years .In the past ,people kept in touch with relatives or friends mainly by sending. Now people can talk to others by telephone or on the Internet at home .When they are free ,they watch the news and other programmes on Tv .Some families are rich enough to send their children to school in their own cars . This holiday my sister and I went to Shanghai. My sister had just graduated and she wanted to find a job in Shanghai. My uncle lived in Shanghai, so we lived with him after we got there. On the first day we went to a lot of interesting places, including Waitan and Huangpu Park.

The next few days were spent helping my sister find a job. We read many advertisements in newspapers. My sister failed in getting the first job because they said she was too young. Then we lost our way and couldn’t find the second company. We had a map but the city is so big, so we had to asked someone for help and finally found the second company. The boss had a talk with my sister and asked her to wait at home for their decision. A month later we went home.
