Hi,everybody. Good to be here. Facing the audience, a thought occured to me. Mama has alway told me not to make a fool in public. But somehow I just couldnt follow what she said exactly. Lying at the center of Beijing， the Forbidden City， called Gu Gong， in Chinese， was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Now known as the Palace Museum， it is to the north of Tiananmen Square. Rectangular in shape， it is the world‘s largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. Surrounded by a six meter deep moat and a ten meter high wall are 9，999 buildings. The wall has a gate on each side. Opposite the Tiananmen Gate， to the north is the Gate of Devine Might (Shenwumen)， which faces Jingshan Park. The distance between these two gates is 960 meters， while the distance between the gates in the east and west walls is 750 meters. There are unique and delicately structured towers on each of the four corners of the curtain wall. These afford views over both the palace and the city outside. The Forbidden City is divided into two parts. The southern section， or the Outer Court was where the emperor exercised his supreme power over the nation. The northern section， or the Inner Court was where he lived with his royal family. Until 1924 when the last emperor of China was driven from the Inner Court， fourteen emperors of the Ming dynasty and ten emperors of the Qing dynasty had reigned here. Having been the imperial palace for some five centuries， it houses numerous rare treasures and curiosities. Listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987， the Palace Museum is now one of the most popular tourist attractions world wide.

Construction of the palace complex began in 1407， the 5th year of the Yongle reign of the third emperor of the Ming dynasty. It was completed fourteen years later in 1420. It was said that a million workers including one hundred thousand artisans were driven into the long-term hard labor. Stone needed was quarried from Fangshan， a suburb of Beijing. It was said a well was dug every fifty meters along the road in order to pour water onto the road in winter to slide huge stones on ice into the city. Huge amounts of timber and other materials were freighted from faraway provinces. Ancient Chinese people displayed their very considerable skills in building the Forbidden City. Take the grand red city wall for example. It has an 8.6 meters wide base reducing to 6.66 meters wide at the top. The angular shape of the wall totally frustrates attempts to climb it. The bricks were made from white lime and glutinous rice while the cement is made from glutinous rice and egg whites. These incredible materials make the wall extraordinarily strong.

Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family， it is the dominant color in the Forbidden City. Roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow; even the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process. However， there is one exception. Wenyuange， the royal library， has a black roof. The reason is that it was believed black represented water then and could extinguish fire.

Nowadays， the Forbidden City， or the Palace Museum is open to tourists from home and abroad. Splendid painted decoration on these royal architectural wonders， the grand and deluxe halls， with their surprisingly magnificent treasures will certainly satisfy "modern civilians".

I have built up a solid foundation for professional knowledge and comprehensively improved my quality. I got a lot of scholarships, once I feel I fall behind others, I will find the reason as soon as possible and try my utmost to catch up with them. And just owning to this, I could concentrate on my study and succeeded in the end. I am confident that my solid education background will lay me a foundation to fulfill my bachelor degree courses!

In my spare time, I like to read books, listen to Pop music, watch movies and doing sports. In all sports , volleyball is my favorite. They keep me in good health, full of energy and breed optimism towards life. Besides, I really enjoy watching English films. It can not only kill time, but also excise my listening skills. I know my English is not good enough, and I will continue to study.

I have learnt a lot from it not only how to do research , but also team sprit and how to communication with others .So I love my major. I am long for doing research in this field. 三年高中生活马上过去了。蓦然回首，感慨颇多。刚迈入高中的时候对一切似乎都充满新鲜感，于是到处跃跃欲试，结果碰壁较多。不过“吃一堑，长一智”，在这个高中生活中我除了努力完成自己的学习目标，也利用各种活动丰富自己的生活，增长自己的才干。

学习是学生的基本，所以，我至始至终都把学习摆在第一位。三年里学校开的课很多，正因为这样，只有珍惜每一分每一秒的学习时间，坚决不迟到不早退不旷课，才对得住自己的高中学习生涯！同时，我认为高中是一个不断完善自己，不断充实自己的时期。我本着“立足专业，综合发展，做学问，学做人”的准则从及“全面发展”的目标，积极主动参加了社会劳动实践课程，使我在文化知识，思想素质，社会实践和人际处理方面都得到了长足的进步。

虽然高中三年来，我在各方面都有显著进步，但我也清楚地认识到自己的不足之处：钻研精神还不够。在今后的学习中，我相信我一定能克服这个缺点，以自己的所学所长更好地报效祖国。

总的来说，高三这半年较高一高二在心态上有了明显的改变，比以前更加积极了，更感觉有动力了，似乎渐渐地找到了全新的方法，课堂上更加专注了，效率也提高了不少，感觉心态有所调整，反而比以往从心理上有少许轻松。能积极地面对每一天，以更加从容和成熟的心态去上好每天的课，也能更为主动的去问题。也希望在成绩上能在原有基础上更进一步，弥补弱势学科和他人的差距，要在薄弱科目上更多下功夫。

依然用笑容面对每一件事，每一个人，还有几个月的时间，不能懈怠，要用更饱满的热情去学习，去奋发，尽最大的努力拥有一个美好的夏天。就没每一天来讲，还是要踏踏实实地干好自己的活，心如止水，始终不忘当前的主要任务，不能放过任何一问题，一步一个脚印地走到六月！
