I believe that one of the factors that makes a piece of literature or even a movie a masterpiece is how well the reader can relate to the story. This is definitely a book everyone can relate to.

The book is a little difficult to read at first. Personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. Other than referring to persons of African decent in derogatory terms (which Im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.

Let me just start by saying that I had been put off reading Thomas Hardye by Dickens. Having really struggled with Dickens and resorted to audio I had wrongly assumed that all 19C liturature was the same. How wrong I could be. From the first paragraph where the opening character farmer Gabriel Oak is desribed smiling, ‘the corners of his mouth spread till they were an unimportant distance from his ears‘ I fell in love with Hardy‘s narrative. His ability to use words that lift the description off the page and into the reader‘s imagination are not just outstanding but incredibly enjoyable.

I went into this book blindly, knowing little about the plot that lay ahead or even the genre. It has been described by some as romantic fiction. But I think this is too simplistic a title and and maybe slightly off-putting to some. Hardye steps into Greek Tragedy when the unwitting and churlish actions of our young protagonist, Bathsheba Everdene, result in a love tryst between three suitors with tragic consequenses.

The book is essentially a journey for Bathsheba into womanhood not unlike the journey that Scarlett O‘Hara makes in Gone with the Wind who also has to overcome great tragedy in order to realise her own strength. Unlike this heroin, however, Bathsheba is more the instrument of chaos and indecion and part of her journey is that she accepts what she has caused and tries to make it right.

Hardye avoids making this into moral stricture but deviates from the Greek Tragedy model by giving us a happy ending not atypical of 19C serialised fiction.

The Cowardly Lion wanted to be brave, but when they met the river, he carried other friends to jump across it. Then Dorothy met the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, but they need help too. The Scarecrow wanted some brains, the Tin Man wanted a heard, and the Cowardly Lion wanted to be brave. So they all take the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. On the way to the Emerald City they met some difficulties, but they solved them successfully. After they met the Wizard of Oz, the wizard gave them another challenge—to kill the bad Witch of the West and they accept. During the way to the Witch of the West’s house, they were caught by the witch and Dorothy was requested to work for her. One day, when the witch tried to catch Dorothy’s red shoes, Dorothy threw some water on the witch by accident and the Witch of the West disappeared. Only water can kill her. So Dorothy went back to the Emerald City with her friends but they found the Wizard of Oz is not a real wizard, he is also a man came from Kansas, and he is just a conjurer. He wanted to go back to Kansas too. So he made a big balloon and prepared to go. But when the balloon is going to raise, Dorothy’s dog Toto jumped away to run after a cat, so Dorothy had to get Toto back and they were left in Oz. Then Dorothy and Toto went and find the Witch of the South and the witch told them they can just use the red shoes on Dorothy’s feet, they’re a pair of magic shoes, they could take anybody go back to their home as soon as she said‘East, west—home is the best!’After Dorothy said goodbye to her friends, she went back to her new home with her dog. It’s really a wonderful risk.

Yes, no matter where we are, home is always the best place for us to rest or study. There are our parents here; there are also our favorite things here. At home, we feel safe, we feel comfortable, and we can relax ourselves.

From this story, we can see Dorothy is a brave and kind-hearted girl. She killed the two bad witches in Oz; she helped the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion to go to the Emerald City to find the Wizard and get what they want. She solved problems when they met difficulties. It’s really not easy for such a little girl.

We also learn that teamwork is important for us. When we are in trouble, we can ask our friends for help, and also, when our friends need help, we should go and help them. Just remember, more people, more power. It’s always better has more people to do a thing. Teamwork is really necessary in our lives.

And we can see the Scarecrow is absolutely cleaver, he understands things, he can think, he learn quickly, and he suggested Dorothy to cut down a tree to cross the river. The tin man has a kind heart, he laughs, he cries, he loves, he feels sorry for people. The Cowardly Lion is really brave, he did a lot of brave things, he carried the friends to go across the river, and he wanted to find some food for his friends and so on. We should learn from them too. When we are in trouble, we should calm down, watch the things around carefully, and try to think out of a way to solve it, just like the Scarecrow. We also should be brave as we are in danger, we can’t be afraid, we should face the difficulty and try to go through it, just like the Cowardly Lion. And we should learn to love people, to feel sorry for people, to make more friends, to get on well with everyone around us, just like the Tin Man.

Yes, we should learn how to get on with other people, we should help each other, we should be brave, we should love other people. If we can do like this, we can be a better girl (boy), more and more people will make friends with us, and more and more people will like us!

I read the book then watched the movie, both of them ga一ve me great shock, I really admire Meggie,she had the courage to use her whole life to love Ralph, never ga一ve up. She believed that she would love Ralph only in her life. But I don’t like Meggie’s attitude to love, Ralph is a Father, and he mustn’t love Meggie, they really loved each other, but they are not destined to be together. So in my opinion I think Meggie should give in, she shouldn’t fight with God, Ralph had told her he would serve God forever, so Meggie wouldn’t win. Maybe giving up is a good choice. Their love is painful.

Tell the turth I don’t like Meggie neither Ralph, Ralph could not give Meggie happniess while Meggie couldn’t support Ralph to concentrate on his work. So they would not ha一ve happy life, they only made each other feel sad .

Frank is my fa一vorite role. he was short but strong ,and he was one of the main labor in his family. He didn’t want to be a shepherd, but the family needed him , and he must feed he the sheep so that everybody in his family can live better. Once he escaped from home , but it wassn’t long before his father found him and take him home. I feel so sorry that he had a miserable fate. He longed for freedom but most of his life didn’t belong to himself, it’s really a pity .

Frank was different to every man in their home, he loved his mother deeply, and he always helped his mother do the housework. he dreamed to be an outstanding boxer. Frank was considerable, and he always try his best to make Meggie feel happy. As Meggie’s oldest brother, he could be worried about Meggie’s fa一vorite doll, and he even tried to fixed the doll which was distroyed by Meggie’s other brothers. Frank and Meggie would always tell each other what they thought in their deep heart , and they are close friends.

I was so sad when I learned that Frank killed a man and he was sent to the prision. It is really a big shock to Meggie, for Frank was the only one who can listen to Meggie’s secrets. She thought she lost Frank forever. I cannot imagine how painful for Frank to spend dozens years in the prision. He once had good dream about his life, but he had to waste most of his life in prision. In my opinion it was Frank’s father that distoryed his life. His father didn’ t give him freedom, and Frank can’t had strong resistance spirits, and because he didn’t control himself and broke the law.The energitic Frank will never come to us, and he became a man who didn’t wanna talk. He began to be afraid of the world…it is really a pity.

As for Meggie, I think she was a good girl. She was beautiful and smart, but she it was wrong for her to love Ralph. Meggie was an excellent girl, she was able to find an outstanding boy to love her, but she put all her love on Ralph even she married Luke. She married Luke just because Luke looked like Ralph. Meggie wanna be a thorn bird, but I think it was too cruel to her. She was so kind that she shouldn’t stand that king of pain, and I think she was born to ha一ve a happy life. I pity for her.

Both the story of thorn birds and the legend are painful and beautiful, but not every one can be the thorn birds, because it is not our porpose to ha一ve a painful life. We are born to be happy. Olny happiness is the ture meaning of life while the story was written for us to enrich our life. It is a wonderful story.

I’d never given much thought to how I would die. But dying in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go. ” When reading such moving words, I am completely absorbed in this splendid novel --- Twilight. The person who had said such moving words was a 17-year-old girl --- Bella, who was a high school student. After reading the whole novel, what impresses me most is not the mysterious vampires family, but the kindhearted and brave girl --- Bella. Bella was a 17-year-old girl who has experienced her parents’ divorce. In order not to be an obstacle to her mother’s happiness with her stepfather, Bella firmly chose to move into a new city --- Forks to live with her father. Even though she knew that what was waiting for her was the new and strange circumstance, Bella still decided to face all of them fearlessly, which makes me know that Bella is a really thoughtful and considerate girl.

Bella is a kindhearted and independent girl who never goes with tide. She always sticks to her own way of doing everything. On her first day to school, Edward came across with Bella, and at that moment Edward could not move his eyes on Bella at his first sight on her. I clearly know that it was Bella’s unique and special character that drew Edward’s attention. In Edward’s mind, Bella was a natural girl with a kind heart. To be honest, Twilight is the best romance novel that I’ve ever read. There is no much flourish in it, but there are lots of touching and thrilling plots between Edward and Bella. I still remember every time Bella was in danger, Edward could helped her out in time, which made Bella feel so grateful and become interested in him gradually.

There was a time when Bella was on her way home from a bookstore alone, suddenly a gang of ruffians molested her, Bella felt helpless and hopeless. Fortunately, Edward appeared as a hero and rescued the beauty, Bella. At that moment, I couldn’t help praising, that Edward was such a thoughtful gentleman who cares about the person he loves at any time. No wonder Bella would love him.

Then when Edward told Bella he had a super strength that he could read every person’s mind except Bella’s one. You can not imagine that, Bella’s first reaction to it was --- “Is there something wrong with me?” Hearing that, Edward smiled and said, “I tell you I can read minds, and you think there is something wrong with you.” At that time, Edward knew Bella was a kind girl indeed, who would not be worried and scared when hearing such unusual truth, but just try to find the mistakes of herself.

Once Edward took Bella to his home to meet his family members, instead of being afraid, Bella asked Edward what if his families didn’t like her. 假期中我阅读了冰波写的《老蜘蛛的礼物》一书，书中给我印象最深就是这个故事了，看完有些伤感和感动，但还带着希望。

《老蜘蛛的礼物》是讲一只老蜘蛛年纪大了，再也织不不出一张完完整的网了，再也没有年轻时的活力与激情了，但是他也有过以往美好时光的。

书中描写的蟋蟀、萤火虫、蝴蝶、金铃子就如同现在的我们，可任意挥霍着年轻的大好时光，有着快乐、满足、力量，而不去想到未来我们也会年老，会失去这些，而对现在不加以珍惜。

就象书中写的:“活着多么好!”，我们要珍惜眼前事，眼前人，珍惜我们现在的时光。

有一个名字让我们震撼于他，他就是英国作家福迪写的长篇小说中的主人公鲁滨逊。他凭着一种坚持不懈，勇敢顽强的精神在一个荒无人烟的小岛上生活了长达28年的艰辛时光。

鲁宾逊在一个小岛上以聪明才智战胜了一切的一切，他在岛上先采野果子充饥，接着就驯养山羊来了，用山羊肉来充饥。有一天他无意中掉落了几颗种子，这时才发现原来这种子可以种出粮食，而这粮食又可以充饥，于是他便开始种植水稻粮食。这种勇敢顽强的精神让我不得不佩服，他在没食物吃的情况下还能这样的勇敢顽强的去寻食物，找粮食。如果换作是我在这个荒芜人烟的小岛上肯定会自暴自弃，自己对自己说：“算了吧，不会有食物的，干脆等死吧!”

还有一次鲁滨逊在岛上生了病，没有药，但是鲁滨逊依然没有放弃对生活的信心，靠自己超人的意念战胜了病魔。

读完了这本书后，很佩服鲁滨逊坚持不懈的精神，所以我决定像鲁滨迅学习，做一个永不放弃的人。

这些天闲暇收拾屋子，发现书柜里一本压藏许久的笔记本，轻弹灰尘，默默打开，读到了这篇《读麦琪的礼物有感》，想起来，当时正值寒假，妻(当时是女友)要回家(外地)，怕她一个人坐车寂寥无趣，送了一本《欧亨利短篇小说集》并随书附上了读后感，想起这些，亦感叹时间飞逝，转眼间都已如昨日，却也带着甜蜜。遂简单整理成篇，以怀念当初的点滴。

谈起欧亨利，自然会提到这篇《麦琪的礼物》，初读此文的时候，那时还是作为一篇语文，感动至今。

“麦琪”两字文中已然注释，其意指圣贤，而通读全文，可以发现本书的译作水平明显不如课文时期，但是大体思路，故事梗概却是清晰的。德拉和吉姆的爱情真挚而感人，虽然德拉失去了秀发，换来了无用的表链，而吉姆贱卖了祖传金表只为了无用的梳子，看似上天的戏弄，却带有深深的情谊，没了秀发，梳子也无所使用，没了金表，表链也只能装饰着，毫无用处。以前读到此处时，总在想：为何德拉不先与吉姆商量，或者吉姆为何不先与德拉暗示。记得上课那会，同学们交流时，有人说，吉姆的梳子德拉还是可以再用，只是德拉的表链，吉姆再也不能使用了。从经济角度看，他们都得不偿失，只是，这一切哪里只是物质金钱呢?

That was Carrie a girl had her own desire a human being just like many others in the realistic world.There’s one sentence written in chapter VIII:” When this jangle of free-will instinct shall have been adjusted when perfect understanding has given the former the power to replace the latter entirely man will no longer vary.” However how many people can go that further.

"The Little Prince" is a clear book, as clear as the water. It’s writes for adults, teenagers and children. It is a book about life and the lives of the fable. As the book said, the water on the heart is beneficial. And "Little Prince" can make people feel warm and fresh.

The story is about a boy. He lives on a small planet. He is the only person of the planet. He is a lonely prince. Fortunately, a beautiful rose came in his life. They loved each other. But a little argument separated them. He left the planet which he lives, starts traveling. He went to many planets and met many different people. He likes to watch the sunset when he was sad. He found that people wanted happiness, but always pushed away happiness rudely.

At last, he understood how to love each other. Love and life is a very important thing. He is very regret. He wanted to return to the planet which he lives. But he didn’t know the road. He chose to drank snake venom end his life because he thought it will be able to cast off his bulky body to go back.

Every time, when I read "The Little Prince", I always moved about it. In real life, we often busy in the whole day, such as a fly without soul. The passage of time, childhood away, we grew up and took away a lot of memories, but we also have an oasis in the heart.

Because ‘The Little Prince’ story, we live in quiet, the heart has a hope and love, have touched on the responsibility of the life.

这个礼拜四，学校组织初一在操场上看电影，这个电影的名字叫《背着爸爸上学》，其实一听名字就知道是一部感人片，记得当时，有许多同学都在抱怨说，这个片子太老了，不好看什么之类的，我暗暗发笑，心里说道，学校给学生看电影肯定放的是对学生有启发，有益的，怎么可能会跟随学生的思路走呢。说值得，看完之隔电影之后，我真的被感动了，也受到了许多启发。

我记得有人说过，感动只是在一瞬间，但真情却永远存生。用这句话来形容这场电影实在是再好不过了，反复这句话就是为这场电影而量身制作的。这场电影不短也不长，看了一个多小时吧，它主要讲了一个小男孩和他的姐姐父亲之间的事，小男孩的母亲去世的很早，只剩下她和姐姐，父亲相依为命，父亲用转勺的方法决定他和姐姐谁去上学，谁辍学ue，最后小男孩上学，姐姐则照顾这个家。刚开始，小男孩因为亲眼目睹自己的同学被河水淹死的情景害怕所以逃学，被父亲知道后教训了他一顿。从此，小男孩便开始努力学习，一直到高中，并且在一次奥林匹克化学竞赛中获得了陕西省的一名，就在此不久，他的姐姐出嫁了，他得知后，非常难过，于是，他便开始照顾自己的父亲。

终于，他考上了大学，可父亲生病了，于是他决定不去上大学在家照顾自己的父亲，父亲知道后，非常生气，便在一天晚上投井自尽了，幸好男孩及时发现，要不然父亲就死了，最终，男孩答应父亲自己去上大学，但为了要照顾父亲所以背着父亲一起去了大学。在看完这场电影后，我才明白原来父母对我们寄存的希望是非常大的，可我么却不懂得珍惜，有时还和父母乱发脾气，通过这场电影，可以知道一个人只有在艰难中走出来才能得到胜利。所谓俗话说的好：吃得苦中苦，方为人上人。

我希望大家把握现在的美好时光，不要让自己的黄金时期一点一点的溜走，一起说加油吧！
