The Laba Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the lunar Chinese calendar. "La" is the name given to the 12th lunar month and 8 is pronounced as "ba" in Chinese, which translated is "Laba." There are several legends about the origin of this festivity and we could not tell which one is true. But what we know today is that this festival started as a sacrificial offering to ancestors. My Favourite Festival

My favoruite festival is Mid-Autumn Festival. On that day, I can get moon cakes, fruit and many other delicious foods. The moon cakes are round like the moon. They are delicious. They are different inside. On Mid-Autumn Festival I see my elder brother back from work. We get together. We talk and watch the moon! How happy we are!

When the festival comes, I will be very excited, because it is a good time

known as the Chinese New Year.

To the Chinese people it is as important as Christmas to people in the

West.

The dates for this annual celebration are determined by the lunar calendar
