春节的江苏民间，除了贴春联、挂年画、守岁、舞狮子、大拜年等和全国一样的习俗外，还有一些独特的习俗，现辑录数则以飨读者。

苏州人除夕在饭内放进熟荸荠，吃时挖出来，谓之“掘元宝”，亲友来往，泡茶时要置入两只青橄榄，谓之喝“元宝茶”，恭喜发财。

春节,我的家乡俗称"过年",风俗大体同祖国各地相同, 除杀鸡,鸭,放鞭炮,贴春联外,在腊月三十日吃"团年饭",十分丰富.十二大碗中必有鱼这个菜,显示吉祥有余之意.解放前,一些地区鱼较少,为了有"百里鱼"这个菜,用木头雕刻一个"百里鱼",放在盆中,撒上葱花,象真鱼一般.

人们极重视团年饭,外出的人在千里迢迢往家里赶,家里人等了又等.吃团年饭,要关着门,意在不让财宝跑了.饭后放上一挂鞭炮, 表示已吃过了年饭,人们可以走动往来了.

大年三十的晚上,我和弟弟在外婆家门前拿着冲天炮朝空中放."怦!"一阵响亮的声音过后,一束束五彩的烟花直冲天空,顿时,黑幕中红的,紫的,蓝的,黄的星星闪耀着夺目的光彩.看:那一朵朵烟花在天空中飞舞着,有的像闪闪的珍珠,有的像蓝色的宝石,它们带着我们新年的希望升上神秘的夜空.
