这个节日的由来是古代中国有一位博学多闻的官吏屈原，他是一位爱民而且又受到尊崇的官吏，但是由於一位充满嫉妒的官吏陷害，从此在朝廷中被皇帝所冷落。由於无法获得皇帝的重视，屈原在忧郁的情况下投汨罗江自尽。

由於对屈原的爱戴，汨罗江畔的居民匆忙的划船在江内寻找屈原，并且将米丢入汨罗江中，以平息汨罗江中的蛟龙。即使他们当时并没有找到屈原，但是他们的行为，直到今天在端午节的时候，仍然被人们传颂纪念着。

In the past twenty years, China has faced three American presidents, but till coming to Yale today, I never realized that China really just faced one university. Although, through these three presidents, I understand that the quality of Yale graduates is not so even.

在过去的二十年中，中国一直在跟美国的三任总统，但是今天到了耶鲁，我从来没有意识到，中国真的面临一个大学。虽然，透过这三位总统，我的理解是，耶鲁大学的毕业生的质量甚至是不。

Let me begin my main subject and let me give it a title, called “My Story and the Chinese Dream Behind It”. I want to talk about five particular years. The first is 1968. That year I was born. But it was also a chaotic year for the world. In France, there was this huge street disturbance, and in America, too. Then President Kennedy was assassinated. However, I really did not cause all of these! But that year what we remember more was the assassination of Mr. Martin Luther King. Although he fell that year, his words “I have a dream” stood up, not only stood up in America, but across the whole world.

让我开始我的主题，让我给它一个名称，叫《我的故事以及背后的中国梦”。我想谈五年份。第一个是1968。那年我出世。但它也是一个混乱的一年中为世界。在法国，有巨大的街头的骚乱，在美国，太。然后美国的总统甘乃迪遇刺。然而，我真的没有造成所有这些!但是那一年我们更应该记住的是马丁先生路德金遇刺。虽然那一年他倒下了，他说“我有一个梦想”的站了起来，不仅在美国，而且在全世界。

But sadly, not only for me, but for almost all Chinese, we did not know such a dream. It was hard to describe each Chinese as having his or her own dream. China and America were so far apart, no less far apart than the Moon and the Earth. But I didn’t care about any of that. All I cared about was could I have a full meal. Clearly, I was born at a very inconvenient time, not only for China, but even for the world, there were problems.

但可悲的是，不仅是我，但几乎所有的中国人，我们不知道这样一个梦想。很难描述每一个中国人拥有自己的梦想。中国和美国是到目前为止分开，没有比月球与地球相距远不如。但我不在乎那些。我关心的是我能吃上一顿饱饭。显然，我是出世在不方便的时间，不仅对中国，而且对世界，有问题。

Should Text Books Be Recycled?

When the school begins, students need to start their new semester, the first thing they do is to buy the text books, most students will buy the new books, while it has become popular that students choose to buy the second-hand text books. It is good that text books are recycled, it can save the resource and reduce the waste, thus leaving more resources to the next generation. What’s more, it also saves students a lot of money. Students can buy the second-hand book at a very low price, students use the book only for a semester, it will become useless after they reading it, so there is no need for them to spend so much money on the contemporary book.

课本该循环使用吗?

当开学的时候，学生需要开始他们的新学期，他们做的第一件事情就是买课本，大部分学生会买新的课本，然而一些学生选择买二手书，这变得越来越流行。课本循 环使用，这是好的，这能节省资源和减少废物，给后代留下更多的资源。而且，这也省下学生很多钱。学生可以低价买下二手书，他们的书本只用一个学期，看完后 就会变得无用了，所以对他们来说没必要花那么多的钱在暂时性的书本。

香喷喷的粽子熟了，黄澄澄的雄黄酒酿好了，赛龙舟的船也准备好了，端午节也就随着风而来了。

彩绘的龙舟，整齐的着装，如潮的人群，那热烈的场面实在令人悠然神往。

比赛在人们的翘首以待中终于开始了。青年桡手们意气风发，头上腰上各束一块红布，在朝阳的光线下熠熠生辉。鼓声响起，龙舟便如一支离弦的箭，在江上来去如飞。一时间，呐喊声、锣鼓声、劈劈啪啪的鞭炮声交汇在一处，在江面上回荡，震耳欲聋。

端午节又怎能少了粽子呢?在我很小的时候就很期待过端午节。诱人的粽子让人垂涎三尺，长长的米粒煮得泛黄，里面包了豆沙或枣子的陷。米有些透明，也露出些泛红的颜色，四角倔强的翘着，可爱极了。包粽子的叶子上沾满了水，也沁入一点米的香味。一口在粽子上咬下去，满嘴便充满了米香，再咬一口，便会看到暗红色的馅儿。馅儿甜甜的，有了米，这种甜也不腻了;米中融入了枣或豆沙的香甜，也是别有一番滋味。

然而这一天还得戴香囊，端午节小孩佩香囊，不但有避邪驱瘟之意，而且有襟头点缀之风。香囊内有朱砂、雄黄、香药，外包以丝布，清香四溢，再以五色丝线弦扣成索，作各种不同形状，结成一串，形形色色，玲珑夺目。佩香囊，虽是一种民俗，但也是一种预防瘟疫的方法。在夏季传染病开始抬头的时候，古人为了确保孩子们的健康，用中药制成香袋拴在孩子们的衣襟和肩衣上。

端午节还有挂艾叶、菖蒲的习惯：在端午节，家家都以菖蒲、艾叶、榴花、蒜头、龙船花，制成人形称为艾人。将艾叶悬于堂中，剪为虎形或剪彩为小虎，贴以艾叶，妇人争相佩戴，以僻邪驱瘴。用菖蒲作剑，插于门楣，有驱魔祛鬼之神效。

我非常喜欢端午节，因为其中含有着丰富的历史文化。

At the beginning of May each year five China is the most traditional festival, the Dragon Boat festival.

In the festival, we get up early in the morning. Suddenly, I heard a smell of fragrance. I ran over to see it. What a big pot of zongzi! How sweet it is! Greedy dead me! Look at the next pot, wow! There is also a big basin of snowy white duck eggs and garlic. It looks lovely and I want to eat. Mom said, "hurry up and wash your face and brush your teeth." After I washed, I sat around the table. Dad put rice dumplings, duck eggs, eggs and garlic on the table. Our family finished our breakfast happily and cheerfully.

Then I went to the vegetable market with my father and mother to buy rice field eel and amaranth, and I asked my mother why I want to buy these things. My mother said, "this is the custom of Dragon Boat Festival". I still dont understand, but nodded. Later, my mother took me to buy some green grass to go home. Give me a bath with wormwood soaked mother, I asked why the mother with wormwood bath? Mother said, "because this mosquito doesnt sting you." The mother and the rest of the ed in the door, I asked my mother why the wormwood are ed in the door? Mom said, "because this mosquito will not fly to our house."

After the bath, my mother told me that there was another name called "dolls Day" on the Dragon Boat Festival. At last, mom wore colorful knits on my hands. Today, I know a lot of knowledge about five sessions. I am so happy.

一、

“四时花竞巧，九子粽争新。”今年的传统节日端午节，就在这江南青青的色彩里、湿湿的雨季中缓然而来。在江南的雨中，那清凉的春雨淅沥沥的一直下着，伴着我们舒缓闲适地度过了这个美好的节日。

推开家门，一阵如风铃般清脆的笑声和着青青的粽草叶香味便向我袭，一定是姐姐和妈妈正在包粽子。我看狗够黑豆也仿佛受到粽草叶清香的诱惑，兴奋的在客厅里乱窜，似要嗅上一口这个季节的味道。姐姐听见开门声响从厨房里跑了出来。一见到我就扑过来抱我，连连说我又长高了，可是姐姐依旧没变还是那么乐观依旧笑靥如花。

接着大家开始吃粽子，今年我们家的粽子形状可谓千奇百怪，有方的有圆的还有像牛角一样尖尖得。大概是姐姐的杰作。绿剥开墨绿色的粽叶，只见洁白如玉的珍珠团里镶嵌着几颗深油红亮的玛瑙枣。绿白红三色相映衬，显得十分艳丽动人。散发出淡雅的清香，咬一口，真是甜而不腻，黏黏而爽口。

端午节，是传统的节日，我固然不会忘记关于端午的来历，不会忘记诗人屈原，不会忘记围绕端午的许多故事。小时候每年的端午节天空也会飘着牛毛细雨，而小小我总是倚在祖母的怀里看着祖母娴熟的包粽子，认真的帮我做着香袋。

如今打开我的衣柜，还能看见一只红缎绸的香袋，它用五彩线系着，香袋下面的穗子是用蒜梗和五颜六色的花布剪成的小圆圈缀成的，是的这便是那年香袋是祖母为我缝制的只可惜，如今物在人去，花落花开，莺归燕已十余个春秋。

端午!你给我带来需多快乐也勾起我对如烟往事的无限怀念。端午的味道，是我难忘的回忆。

闻着粽子的香味，我馋得直流口水，迫不及待拿了一个粽子，剥开粽叶，哇!里面包了肉，香菇、小虾米等佐料，好吃极了。

端午节是农历的五月初五,是我国民间三大传统节日之一，“五”通“午”，端午节又名“端五”，另外又称“端节”，“午日”、重五。

端午节是为了纪念楚国伟大的诗人屈原。相传在五月初五这天，屈原投汩罗江自尽，人们怕屈原的尸体被咬龙水兽吃了，因而纷纷划船下江捞救。可是河水很急，早已不见屈原的身影了，于是人们往江中投饭团，外系五彩绳，鸡蛋等食物，让蛟龙水兽有东西吃，就不会伤害屈原了，。渐渐地就流传着在端午节这天要划龙舟、包粽子的习俗了。

以前的端午节我没什么印象，可是今年的端午节，一大早妈妈就端来一盆香喷喷的粽子，一个个清翠清翠的。粽子的形状有棱形的、四角形的、有肉粽子、也有八宝粽、还有碱粽等各式各样的。看上去真不错。闻着粽子的香味，我馋得直流口水，迫不及待拿了一个粽子，剥开粽叶，哇!里面包了肉，香菇、小虾米等佐料，味道一定好极了，我三五口就吃完了一个粽子，接着又拿来一个，妈妈告诉我说，粽子虽然好吃，但不能吃太多，吃多了消化不好，叫我吃二三个就可以了，可是味道太好，我觉得吃不够，呵呵……

我们一家人围着吃粽子，沉浸在节日的气氛中。感觉好温馨!

Chu Yuan drowned on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese citizens now throw bamboo leaves filled with cooked rice into the water.

Therefore the fish could eat the rice rather than the hero poet. This later on turned into the custom of eating tzungtzu and rice dumplings.

Every little girl will have her dream aboutprince. I always dream of a half-blood prince coming to me, just like the snowwhite and Cinderella in the fairy tale. I hope there will be a prince wearingwhite clothes to ask me to live happy life with him. And in the following days,I really have a happy life. Why I want a half-blood prince not just prince? Ithink half-blood prince would be more handsome. Hehe.
