In the United States, the driving force behind the establishment of the

celebration of Fathers Day was Mrs Sonora Smart Dodd, born in Creston,

Washington. Her father, the Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, as a single

parent raised his six children in Spokane, Washington. She was inspired by Anna

Jarviss efforts to establish Mothers Day. Although she initially suggested

June 5, the anniversary of her fathers death, she did not provide the

organizers with enough time to make arrangements, and the celebration was

deferred to the third Sunday of June. The first Fathers Day was celebrated on

June 19, 1910, in Spokane.

Unofficial support from such figures as William Jennings Bryan was

immediate and widespread. President Woodrow Wilson was personally feted by his

family in 1916. President Calvin Coolidge recommended it as a national holiday

in 1924. In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson made Fathers Day a holiday to be

celebrated on the third Sunday of June. The holiday was not officially

recognized until 1972, during the presidency of Richard Nixon.

Today is June 21st, Fathers Day. There is an indescribable feeling in my

heart, because I am not by their side, my parents are over 50 years old, and a

son cannot be filial by his side, and when the family is busy with farming, he

two kilometers away from our homes, so we decided to go there by bike. We set

how i spent my summer vacation

summer can be very hot in southern taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"c or more. because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. also because of this i stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky. actually i like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. in the summer vacation that has just ended i went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. this summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. as a second-year senior student i had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. in other words, i must find time to study, too. so i divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement

Fathers Day is here, and my heart is full of mixed feelings. Because I

think of my dad. At the same time, I also remembered a song "Grateful Heart", I

随着时间的推移，不管友情、亲情、爱情、都以随之慢慢的淡化。每个人都在忙碌的过着自己的生活，朋友少了，亲戚少来往了，爱情更没时间理会了。世间万物都在不断的运动着，很多事情都在我们忽忙忽闲中溜走了。曾经放假时能一起去游玩的兄弟，曾经期盼过年时能跟亲戚聚聚，曾经能无话不谈无语不言的知己，这些似乎都以成为了过去。

如今，有什么苦难都喜欢知己一个人憋着，不想再尝试跟别人去诉说，慢慢的自己也学会了习惯，学会了消化。每天都面对的同样的事情同样的工作，即使自己有在多得苦，面对着顾客，都要以微笑而待之，随之也学会了掩饰自己。

生活嘛，也不就不过如此，苦难是一杯美酒，夜深人静的时候，就着自己的眼泪，喝下去……

Today, my parents took me to mygrandfathers home. I talked with my

grandfather for a little while and then Iplayed with my brothers and sisters.

After a while, my elderly brothersuggested going to the park and having a rest.

"Thats a good idea." I said.Then we prepared for the outing. However, after

lunch, the sky turned dark andrained heavily. Therefore, our plan was an

impossible due to the bad weather.How pity it was! All the afternoon, we could

only have fun in house. We playedcards, watched TV and played computer games. We

were happy, but we still hopedthat we can go out next time.
