前不久,在美国遇到一位中国访问学者.出于对国事的关心,她问我:“你说,我们能做些什么呢?”

我脱口而出的回答是:“做好你自己的事。”

就是说,如果您现在在国外访问,希望您的.讲学活动与学术交流活动成功。回国以后,继续为促进我国学术事业的繁荣与中外学术交流而努力。

如果您在国内是打篮球的,我希望您把球打得更好?

如果您是拉提琴的,我希望您拉得更好,最好和帕格尼尼一样好,或者更好。

而我是个作家,我理应把自己的努力、自己的注意力集中在为读者提供更多更好的作品上面。

做好您自己的事也包括私事。我祝愿每个人都愈来愈能处理好自己的生活,身体健康、家庭和睦、邻里平安。齐家并非就能治国,但齐家起码有利于治因而不是相反。

很简单,一个社会是一个分工合作的大集体i没有合作就没有社会,没有分工就没有社会,除了战争时期、非常时期。如果希望安定与发展,就必须尊重社会的分工,起码码多数人是各司其职、各安其业,而不能动不动就搞全民总动员。如果把对于社会的总体关心与做好自己的事割裂开来,就会出现一大批夸夸其谈、大言欺世、眼高手低、清谈误国的野心者、卖狗皮膏药人才和口力劳动英雄。

我们周围也有许多帮助他人的人,帮助他人当然是好事。例如,一个公共汽车售票员,帮助了一位素不相识的农村老大娘寻找儿子;这当然好，当然很好。但是这里同样也有一个问题,那就是每个人应该首先做好自己的事。一个公共汽车售票员应该首先尽职尽责地把票卖好,把站名报好,把车内秩序疏导好,对乘客态度好……然后再去帮助别人。各人自扫门前雪,莫管他人瓦上霜当然不对,但专管他人瓦上霜,不扫自己门前雪,也很矫情可疑。

在一个连起码的敬业精神还有待于进一步培养的国家里,离开做好自己的事,离开了实干兴邦的提倡,而只谈救国救民以天下为己任、以世界革命为目标、以专门利人为榜样等等——总是让人觉得替你难为情。

很多时候，我不清楚自己的情感。

很多时候，我不清楚自己想干什麽。

很多时候，我不清楚自己为什麽会无缘无故发脾气。

很多时候，我不清楚自己对什麽东西有兴趣。

很多时候，我不清楚自己是否真的喜欢一种东西……

那些琐碎的事，那些敢於批评的人，那些泰然率性的人，永远都能令我想到很多事情，也是令我想想到很多事情。

我知道，没有人会真真正正的了解我。因为连我自己也不清楚我自己的个性，甚至做事的方法。我只知道，我是一个极为自相予盾的人。

我喜欢逗别人开心，因为我不想看到其他人感到沮丧或沦落。

同时间的，我也经常因自己或朋友，使别人感到自卑丶不高兴甚至愤怒，或许，有时候我是一个无惧无怨的人。

我有时候很受物质诱惑，同时地，我亦憎恨那些用物质来收买或引诱别人的人。

我经常问自己到底想怎样，也喜欢仰望天空，希望有任何一个人能告诉我，一个可信并正确回答到我的问题的答案。有时候，我或许是有几种个性的人，不过，我并不在意这些事情，因为我不需要亦不想去了解自己。因为，我不会。

或许，我是一个有主见的人。不过，我同时也是一个可能经常只相信自己的人。有时候，我觉得自己的生活十分自在。又有时候，我会觉得自己的生活只馀黑白……

有时，我想说：此时此刻，有谁共鸣。
