Summer can be very hot in southern Taiwan where the temperature usually

goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to

school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because

of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and

occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to

keep my body less sticky. Actually I like swimming think nothing is more

refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has ended I went swimming

many times with my classmates we all had a good time. This summer vacation,

however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student

I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were a year

away. In other words, I must find time to study, too. So I divided my time

between work play during the summer vacation derived benefit from this

arrangement.

外婆家有一只狗狗很可爱。

它有一个有趣的名字叫包包，它是一只白色比熊狗。它的脚底有棕色的肉垫，还有一对明亮的小黑葡萄眼睛。如果有不认识的人到了家里，它就会汪汪汪地叫起来，提醒外婆有人来了。喜欢躺在沙发上或人身子上睡觉，嘴特别的馋，是个小吃货，乱七八糟的零食都吃。如果有时候你心情不好就可以抱抱它，这样你的心情一下子会愉快起来。

我们在外婆家吃饭的时候，它会目不转睛地盯着我们吃饭，看我们吃得很香，会装出一副很可怜的样子，似乎在求我们给它一些美味的食物，我就会忍不住地想扔几根肉骨头给它吃。

每次吃完饭，我们要回家了，包包会在我面前跑来跑去，好像在说：“别走!我还想和你一起玩呢!”这时我就会摸摸它说：“我要走了，下次我还会过来和你一起玩的。”

前段时间，我家院子里来了一位不速之客——一只流浪狗，看样子，它似乎也曾经强壮高大过，不过现在已经瘦骨嶙峋，只剩下一身脏兮兮、乱蓬蓬的毛耷拉在身上。一阵凛冽的寒风吹来，又冷又饿的它总会躲在墙角瑟瑟发抖，圆圆的大眼睛里流露出惊恐和无助。

流浪狗可能觉得我们家人亲切，它就在我家门前睡下了。第二天傍晚，流浪狗又回来了，妈妈看见后拿起木棍，对着流浪狗又跺又叫，流浪狗胆怯地退了回去。看它那么可怜我想把它留下来，但妈妈无奈地对我说：“你知不知道流浪狗身上有许多细菌和跳蚤，如果让它在我们家，会给我们带还很多麻烦。”

后来，我发现妈妈其实也在悄悄地照顾着流浪狗。每天早上，妈妈都会在一个碗里装满水，给流浪狗喝，每天饭后，剩菜剩饭就会留着给流浪狗吃，每天晚上，妈妈准会在我家门前放上一张厚厚的垫子，让流浪狗在上面能暖和一些。

现在它在我们家可以自由出入，和我一家人的关系也越来越熟悉，越来越亲密，它已经成了我家的一员了。

我家有一只小狗，它非常的可爱，是爷爷送给我的。

小狗有着一双水汪汪的眼睛，长长的尾巴。有着四只有力的腿，像柱子一样撑着它的身体，它有着黑白相间的毛，走起路来大摇大摆，在远处看，像是有人在那里演戏剧。

它每天在我上学的时候跑到我旁边，好像在说：“小主人，你不要走。留在家里陪我一起玩。”我把它放在家门口，让它乖乖的在家门口玩，可是我走一步它就走一步，只好给它吃东西，在它吃东西的时候，我悄悄的去学校。它看见我走了，就只好在家里玩。我回来的时候，它经常蹭蹭我的腿，好像在说：“小主人，你终于回来了，我可想死你了。”在家里的时候，我总是拿着树枝向远处扔去，让它去把树枝拿回来，但是它太笨了，不知道我在逗它玩，一下子就把树枝拿回来了。

If we look at the sky on a perfectly fine summer‘s day we shall find that the blue colour is the most pure and intense overhead，and when looking high up in a direction opposite to the sun。

Near the horizon it is always less bright，while in the region immediately around the sun it is more or less yellow. The reason of this is that near the horizon we look through a very great thickness of the lower atmosphere，which is full of the larger dust particles reflecting white light，and this diluter the pure blue of the higher atmosphere seen beyond，and in the vicinity of the sun a good deal of the blue light is reflected back into space by the finer dust，thus giving a yellowish tinge to that which reaches us reflected chiefly from the coarse dust of the lower atmosphere。

At sunset and sunrise，however，this last effect is greatly intensified，owing to the great thickness of the strata of air through which the light reaches us. The enormous amount of this dust is well shown by the fact that then only we can look full at the sun，even when the whole sky is free from clouds and there is no apparent mist。

「啊呜！」远方传来狗的哀号声，两只公狗野性大发正咬得你死我活呢！牠们也撞倒了垃圾桶，脏东西散落一地，霉味扑鼻，好不卫生呀！牠们甚至会随地大小便，制造脏乱，污染了我门的环境，把满园的绿意弄得臭气冲天！害得大家活受罪，也增添了清道夫不少麻烦；累了就躺在又臭又脏的水沟和垃圾堆旁睡觉；冬天到了，又饿又冷，还有跳蚤在身上跳上跳下，真是「歹命」！牠们每天都提心吊胆的，深怕被捕狗队追捕，或者被大型狗欺负，滋味可真不好受啊！

流浪狗大多都有皮肤病，有些甚至有狂犬病，当牠们野性大发的时候，到处咬伤行人，危及我们的安全，最好离牠们远一点比较好，可别误会我们没人情味，只因为一次被狗咬，下次看到流浪狗就吓得花容失色。

人们既然要养狗，就要有责任感，诚心诚意的善待狗儿，让狗儿有个温馨的家，狗是人最忠实的朋友，千万不要抛弃一个小生命，如果社会上有好心人士肯收容流浪狗，善待牠们，付出爱心，爱心也可以「滴水成海，积沙成塔」，那么流浪狗的悲歌又会改观了。

Dear Miss Brown,

I am writing to express my sincere thanks to you for caring me in the last

two years. During the days of being your student, I learn a lot. Firstly, your

serious attitude towards teaching and our students moves me too much. You

inspire and push me to work harder and harder. Secondly, I fall in love with

English under the influence of you. As a student of science and engineering,

I’ve been thinking that English does no good to me, but you help me to find the

fabulous glamour of English that leads me to know a totally different world and

I was very interested in your advertisement in todays edition of The Evening Post and I should like to apply to be a member of the Amazon Expedition team.

I am twenty-three years old and have an honors degree in Botany from Bath University. Since leaving university I have been working in a research laboratory but my contract comes to an end in six weeks. I would particularly like to join the expedition for the opportunity it would give me to study the plant life of the area.

I enjoy several outdoor activities including rowing and rock climbing and I consider myself to be both fit and healthy enough to undertake such an expedition.

之所以叫他天才“儿子”可是有道理的，在游泳馆里。他叼着球在岸边玩耍，我在水里游着泳。我很想“儿子”跟我来一场游泳比赛。便把球抢过来，扔到了前面的地方。“扑腾”一声，“儿子”跃在我身旁。游泳比赛开始了，我做好姿势。“儿子”开始了他的狗刨神功。以迅雷不到掩耳之势，叼到了球。看着那些水纹我只想说：我的“儿子”果然是天才。

更意想不到的是我的“儿子”居然会守门，并且还很厉害。那只是偶然的一次，我跟“儿子”在球场上，我让他站在门前，原以为我射门时他会跑开，万万没想到他看见飞来的球没有一点害怕，而是用头把球顶在空中，跳起一口叼住了球。我每发一次球，他都会接住。

我的“儿子”是不是很要人喜欢，你说他是不是天才？

今天，奶奶给我买了一个粘玉米。那个玉米又香又甜，不一会就被我吃光了，我往地一扔，突然，跑来一只小狗，叼走了玉米棒。

那只小狗黄褐色的皮毛，眼睛虽然小，但是，炯炯有神;尾巴还左摇右晃，特别可爱。特别是吃东西的时候，张个大嘴，尾巴一动不动，一咬不动，它就晃着头，使劲咬，好像用尽了全身的力气，直到把玉米棒咬碎为止。

所以，在它吃东西的时候，我们不要逗它，以免被咬伤。但是，我们也不要伤害它，因为，我们人类和动物是息息相关的，所以，我们应该更加爱护和保护小动物。

放暑假的时候，爸爸的朋友送了我一条宠物狗，名叫小黑。

小黑是一条牧羊犬，忠诚老实，尽职尽责的好狗，但不爱干净。只要有外人来，它就会马上大叫，好像在给主人报信，又像在给客人打招呼，还像一点儿都不欢迎客人似的。只要有陌生人靠近，它还会去咬他们，不过有趣的是，它咬人的时候有两个前兆：一是狂叫，二是装可爱。可爱之后才有人靠近，那就只有被咬的份了。它呀，十分地让人讨厌陌生人，我却把它当做玩伴。

小黑不爱干净，却又十分讨厌洗澡。其实给它洗澡很简单，首先，要找一个装作牧羊犬的大笼子，然后找一根毛巾，再找一根管子，把小黑关进笼子里，然后用温水一泼，小黑就跟发了疯似的，到处乱窜，乱咬，然后用肥皂水往身上一浇，再用水一冲，小黑的脏东西就洗干净了，再用毛巾往它身上擦，擦干净后小黑就像一个绅士一样了。

小黑它特别喜欢去家后面的山上玩，到了后上就像小孩子过年一样，上蹿下跳，一会儿追蝴蝶，一会儿抓蚂蚁，看上去像一个七八岁的小孩子一样，蹦蹦跳跳，使不完得劲。真是一只淘气的狗狗啊！

你喜欢小黑一样的牧羊犬吗？

我朋友家养了一只既可爱又古怪的小狗，它的名字叫"奥利奥。"

奥利奥的样子实在可爱极了！它有着圆圆的脑袋，水灵灵的小眼睛，小小的嘴巴，短短的尾巴，四条灵活的腿脚，再加上一身棕色的短发，可爱极了！

奥利奥的性格实在有些古怪，说它乖巧吧，的确是这样。当你写作业的时候，它会悄悄地离开，当你玩的时候，它又会跑过来与你一起玩。它若是高兴，比谁都听话，它会跑过来舔你的手。它若是不高兴，比谁都不听话。它一声不出，任凭你拿多少好吃的，说多少好话它也不会理你。

它又是那么聪明，它平时会等我们吃完饭后，就跳到桌子上吃我们剩下的骨头。如果没吃饱，中午和晚上就睡不着觉。而睡不着觉的时候，它就会跑到厨房去看看自己的盆子里有没有肉吃，如果有的话，它会吃饱后再回去睡觉，如果没有，它会找遍每一处地方，直到吃饱才肯睡。

奥利奥还有个特点，就是喜欢交朋友。奥利奥的朋友可多啦！我们每次带它出去玩，它可以一下子招来许多的小狗。它就像一个美丽又骄傲的公主，走到哪里，周围都跟着一群"跟屁虫。"

怎么样？我朋友家的小狗"奥利奥"可爱吧！喜欢就来我朋友家认识认识它吧！

Following the rules can make the world in order, so that everyones time

wont be wasted. But there are always some people try to break the rules, just

to show how different they are, some even think it is cool to do it. Recently, a

young guy was riding his sliding plate in the railway station. He ignored the

staffs warning and just kept the way he was. He even shouted at the staff. At

last, when policeman came, he apologized and promised would not do it again.

What a rude boy. He only thought about himself and ignored the rules. What he

did wasted everybodys time. Breaking the rule only got himself a bad

reputation.

Recently we did a survey in our class in order to learn about students’

ideal jobs. Here’s a report about my group members’ ideas.

Mary wants to be a fashion designer because she likes beautiful clothes and

is good at drawing. Kate wants to be a gardener, she lives plants, and she wants

to make the cities better. Mike would like to be a writer. He’d like to share

his wonderful stories with others. Tom would like to be a cook. He’d like to

cook delicious food for others. I would like to be a policeman. I want to

protect the people safe.

Hopefully everyone can realize their dreams in the future.

The summer vacation is ing。 I will do my homework first so I am going to do
